5 It took a while to get into a position that didn’t hurt my head or my shoulder blade. I must have been exhausted because once I was settled, I drifted off to sleep. It was a dreamless sleep, and when I woke up, I felt a little better, but the pain was still there. I felt the lump on the back of my head and it felt like it was covered in some kind of gel. Something to help it heal, I guessed. When I pulled my hand away, the gel on my fingers was clear and had traces of blood in it. I cringed and felt a little ill thinking about how much blood there was the last time I did that. I looked around the room and was relieved to find it empty. I knew I’d have to face more people I didn’t know soon enough, but I wanted to be alone for a while. Someone had refilled the cup, so I slowly sat up
