The time for them to depart came and before they left the daughter of Diana came to them to see them off. “You don’t need to do that. You are paying us for this.” Xerxes said to her but she still continues to stand and see them off. “I know that but you are the only persons that were willing to search for my father, so I felt like I have to do it.” She said as Xerxes then disregards what she was about to say next and told the other two to go. “You and my mother have a past right? I’m really s-“ Xerxes stops her from saying anything since it might not change anything. “That past is passed, I no longer care about that.” He said as he walks inside the portal and left the young girl speechless. “You say that master but you sound like you still hold a grudge.” Ramirez said. “That is the only way I can think of that can stop her from saying anything. My ties from the past had long been severed and I don’t ever want it to return.” Xerxes’ remark made Ramirez silent. “Let’s go to the place where they hunted last, maybe there are clues there that the group have not seen. Investigations made in a flash tends to be incomplete after all.” the two agreed and opens up the map. Upon arriving at the site, they soon noticed a sweet smell coming from the lushes behind where the camp is. “What’s that smell?” Rupert and Ramirez then pulls out their weapons but everything is different in Xerxes’ perspective. ‘Perfume? Does perfume exist in this world?!’ disregarding the two, he treaded inside the lushes where the scent of the perfume is stronger. “Master, shouldn’t we be suspicious about this smell?” Rupert voice his opinion about the matter but Xerxes brush his concern off saying that they also have perfume back home. “Yes I know that but it doesn’t get as pleasant as this. Back home, the scented waters are as close to pickled water, it’s like comparing shxt and luxurious cake.” He added. ‘Wow you really have to say it like that?’ Xerxes thought to himself as he continues to find the source of the scent. “Go look around that tree, I have a strong feeling that a bottle or something that holds the scent is there.” He orders as the two then search every nook and cranny of the tree and found the scent. “A skull of a coconut, hmmm. I think I know what happened.” Xerxes said right after seeing how the situation himself. “What do you think happened here?” he ask the two who are unaware of what he wants to say. “What do you think a married man would do if he is on the last day of his trip?” Rupert’s eyes lit up after finding out the answer to Xerxes’ question. “A gift, a married man would try to find a gift to please his wife after a long journey to make up for his absence.” Rupert said as Ramirez strained his face after hearing the reason. “Bingo! That is  the reason that I am thinking of as well. Since there is nothing here that would be worthy to be given as a gift. He must have thought that the sweet scent of this thing is the best gift. But that raises another question, what kind of creature is intelligent enough to bait something like that?” The three are now stuck in a problem and the answer is only staring them at their face. “I think we should follow the foot prints. That must give us a clue as to what creature baited him.” With nothing left to do, they followed the trail. The trail made them hike rocky mountains and swamps. Until they reach the point where no hunter has venture before. “What are we going to do? No hunter have reached and ventured before.” Ramirez said as Rupert reminds him of the missing person. “There is, the missing man. This is the trail of the creatures that might have taken him therefore he is the person to have reached this point.” “Ah-“ Xerxes and Rupert then shake their head in disbelief that Ramirez had forgotten about the man. “Then let’s continue.” Xerxes leads the way as the two guards their back. A few hours of hiking The three take some rest under a boulder that is covered with moss. While the two drinks their water, Xerxes look around and saw that there are countless boulders two stories high and other smaller ones as well. ‘Strange enough, these things look like buildings to me.’ He thinks to himself but then disperse the thought when he realize something. “Did we encounter any monster on the way here?” his words then made the two realize about it. “Yeah- that’s what I thought. We have not encountered something at all. The trail that we followed is a safe path, a path that must have been created by humans like us. The foot prints, they are the size of humanoid creatures, it is either elves or humans.” Xerxes points out as they continue to walk and follow the path and lead them the sea. “Sea? There’s a sea here?” Rupert said they hid themselves from sight. ‘Hmmm these seems oddly familiar.’ Xerxes then takes out the thing that he made a few days earlier, a telescope and use it to see far away in the sea and to his surprise, he saw some people looking at them using the same instrument. Then a sudden explosion in the air along with a bright red like flames flew in the sky. BOOP! ‘Flare?!’ Xerxes eyes widens after seeing the people run inside what it seems to be a man made structure, he moves his telescope to get a proper look at the structure and to his shock, the statute of liberty is standing on the other side of the huge body of water. “What the? What the hell is happening?!” Xerxes shouts as he finds the nearest boulder covered with vines and weeds and pulls a huge part of it and reveals a window of a run down building. Xerxes fell in despair and shock after making a discovery that he is in the earth where he once lived. “What the fxck is happening here?!” he shouts yet again as Rupert and Ramirez pulls him inside the window to hide from a creature that suddenly appeared in the shores, a flying creature as large as a man, a dragonewt.
