Sudden appearance

After Xerxes sudden visit to the doctor, the rest of the employees have heard of him getting injured so they rushed to the doctor’s place and to their surprise, Xerxes and the two are already on their way out. “I never thought that I would be losing that much blood. I should have patched it earlier, what a pain.” Xerxes said to himself as Rupert supports him to walk properly.

              The group stare at each other before finally unblocking the road. “What is the meaning of this boss? What happened to you?” Britt ask without hesitation and Xerxes told him that some monster swept him with it’s tail and he lands on a tree branch which then pierced his sides. “But I’m fine now. I just need to rest and recover my energy as the doctor says.” Berto lets out a sigh of relief after hearing that he is not in imminent danger.

              “Lets just go home for now. I’m sure you want to hear it properly right?” Ramirez grabbed a few drinks and snack while on their way back to the shop. “Let me help you with that Mr. Ramirez, that must be heavy.” Britt says after seeing Ramirez bought so much. ‘This bastard, he won’t help unless it is food.’ Cynthia says to herself after witnessing Britt decimating the food stocks inside the shop. “Britt, I think you need to calm down on the food. You almost eat everything that you set your sights on. I don’t think it’s bad but what if Sir Xerxes considers to cut it on your pay if you eat too much? A gold coin for almost doing nothing is too much you know?” Cynthia said that almost made Britt discourage in eating.

              “Calm down, I won’t do that and its not really a big deal if Britt eats too much? Its better to eat a lot than to die of hunger you know.” Xerxes said and most of them agree. “That’s surprising, I did not hear a job that gives the employees food for free but what is really surprising is that the pay is 1 gold for almost doing nothing so normally people would seek out this job right? 1 gold coin is a lot, and it’s a lot.” Cynthia thinks of the things that she could buy with only a single coin.

              With everything is given to them at the shop, they might end up saving the salary for each month. “Now that I think about it, it really is mind boggling.” Bianca added as it only occurred to her. “Don’t think too much about it. This work requires trust. Something that we think is hard to find. Especially when commissions just came pouring in every single time.” Xerxes says as he stops and opens the backdoor.

              A few moments later and the employees stare at Xerxes in awe after hearing the story behind his injury. “So you met the people of the old man that gave you the trinket? Were they cannibals?” Rupert ask and is seemed to be the most interested of them all. “His people doesn’t eat people and I have not seen the symptoms as well. They were not shaking and not making an unnecessary movements. If it were the case then he should have been eaten by the creature first right?” Xerxes answered as he turns to Samantha who raise her hands. “Were they civilized people?” Xerxes tilts his head and then shrug his shoulders. “I have yet to confirm that but from my initial thoughts about them, they might be. They are intelligent to be honest, maybe because they are living in a such a harsh environment but still, I think they are more sensible than the first one we met on that island.” Xerxes said to the others.

              “Well, I plan to visit them next time. I was looking to learn what happened to that place so the natives might have something like stories that must have been passed down through the ages.” Xerxes figured.

              CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH!

              Xerxes turns to Britt and Ramirez eating the snacks on their own at the back while listening to the rest of them. “So boss, what are we going to do? Are we going to open shop now? With your situation, we can’t do a commission. We should at least wait for you to recover before we start accepting commissions.” Bianca suggested and Xerxes acknowledge her suggestion. “I plan to do that. With his huge ass hole on my side, I will just be dragging everyone down with me.” He said.

              After explaining everything that happened, Xerxes excuse himself saying that he is going to rest and went straight for his room. “Well, we have nothing to do. So what do you all want to do?” Rupert asked all of them. “I don’t know, maybe exercise a little? The amount of food I ate the other day must have done something to my body so I want to get rid of all the dirt in my body.” Cynthia said and the others agreed. Stating the same reason for choosing to exercise with Cynthia.

              “If everybody is okay with it, I will help you all exercise.” Ramirez said as he flex his muscles. “Okay!” Rupert then told them of the clothes that they should use to exercise properly and the employees tried to look for the exact same clothes that fit to his description.

              Half an hour later and they all fell on the ground due to exhaustion, Ramirez made them exercise like that way he did from the very beginning. Immediately draining their energies in an instant. “What the heck- I wasn’t expecting to run at top speed for ten whole minutes. My legs are killing me.” Cynthia says as she lies on the ground motionless. “I know right, I thought running was hell but what comes next is even more hellish. I won’t do this again. I want to remain the cook.” Ramirez looks at the two of them with disappointment. “I may not be smart but I am the master’s might, look at Samantha, she is also a girl but she doesn’t complain about her body aching. You should at least follow her lead.” Ramirez said to the others.

              Rupert then enters the backyard with a bunch of snacks prepared for the group and refreshments. “Don’t be so hard on them Ramirez, this is their first time after all. You were like that on your first time so go easy on them.” Ramirez shakes his head in dismay and asks Samantha to rest for a while. “Let’s take a break. Rest is also a good part of exercise but do not let your body get really cool otherwise your body will forget the sensation.” Ramirez said and Britt falls to the ground after standing too much.

              Meanwhile, Yusaf and his group returns to the shelter that the three made and bring some of their things in. “Are you sure this is fine Yusaf? Maybe that human will get angry once he sees that you made this place your nest.” Carleon said and warns Yusaf and Yusaf corrects him. “His name is Xerxes and not human, we have been with them for almost a few weeks now. Are you still not used to calling him by his name?” Yusaf ask and the others nodded. “Sigh! Well, that is understandable, you three are quite hard eggs to c***k so its okay. But be sure to get yourselves used to it. It would be awkward to call him human every time.”

              After putting everything back to place and adding some of their things, Carleon wonders what the humans would bring next. “I hope they bring some of those fluffy things again. I like those a lot.” The other elves state their expectations and it all falls to the category of food but what Yusaf is expecting is different. “I know he said that he will give me something like what he used last time, but it must take a long time to create, I just hope that I will be able to receive it sooner.” Yusaf said and the other elves remember what he meant and also state the things that they want that is not food.

              While they are discussing about the things that Xerxes and the others would bring, they felt the ground tremble as if something huge is passing by.

              STOMP! STOMP! STOMP! STOMP! STOMP!RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

              The four immediately takes out their telescopes and place them in the special holes that Xerxes made so that they can scan the area and to their surprise, some creatures with large bodies and long necks past by the shelter and miss them by a hair, Yusaf signals them not to make a sound since he has prior knowledge about those creatures due to his adventures. ‘I thought those kind of things wander in the desert so why are they here?’ he thinks to himself as the herd of those creatures move to the island where the cannibals were settled.
