Chapter 45Sadie the waitress kept her promise and came to see Esther to have her hair done. She was so pleased with the results that she told her friends, other waitresses, family members and within a few weeks, Esther had a steady flow of customers.
“See,” Sadie crowed. “I'll get a new husband any day now, just you watch.”
