SELENE'S POV “So, she left because of me,” Aldric said, his voice low after I finished explaining everything. I shook my head quickly, not wanting him to get the wrong idea. “No! It’s not like that, Aldric. I’m sure she had a good reason for—” “It’s fine,” Aldric cut me off with a slight shake of his head. “She’ll reach out when she’s ready, Selene. It’s all good.” But it wasn't though. I could tell it wasn’t. His words sounded so casual, but I wasn’t blind. I could see the pain in his eyes, hear the hurt in his voice.
