Emily took them back into the service station and up the stairs. As he followed the girl, Daniel remembered running up here. Escaping from Renton and Reece. They climbed the stairs and walked along a corridor, past toilets and another eating area, until they arrived at the covered walkway across the motorway. Daniel looked down through broken windows at the carriageway of stalled traffic heading out of the city centre. The line of cars disappeared into the distance.
