Chapter 9They waited, finishing their food and drinks. None of the men popped back to the ship for anything forgotten. When twenty minutes had passed, Max had waited long enough. “Let’s do it, before my head explodes with the tension.” Seeing the ship there, so close, only a couple of airlock doors between them, he almost couldn’t stand it. They settled their bill, and walked across the dock to the airlock. Max tapped the button to call the ship. In a couple of minutes, a light came on beside a camera lens. A man’s voice came from a speaker. “Yeah, what do you want?” “Open up,” Max said. “This is an emergency.” “Huh?” Tai stepped forward, and showed the video camera his pilot’s badge.
