Chapter Eighteen- Aurora

Jane Jenkins (POV)

I woke in severe pain throughout my body. I had been asleep after a wonderful intimate time with my mate when all of a sudden pain hit.

“What is happening?” I groaned in pain.

‘It is only me.’ I heard a female voice inside my head.

“Babe, I think you are about to shift.” Lucas was heard above my screams.

‘He’s right. You are.’ The voice speaks to me again.

“WHO ARE YOU?” I screamed through the pain.

“Babe, do you hear a voice in your head?” Lucas asked me.

“Yes.” I growled at him as the pain intensified.

“I know you are hurting, love. But ask her name.”

‘My name is Aurora. I am your wolf.’ The voice answered Lucas.

“She said her name is Aurora.” I groaned out, then screamed.

I suddenly felt Lucas’s arms around me lifting me off the bed and onto the floor. “Love, you are going to need room for shifting, but I am here with you. So is Aurora. She will help you through.”

‘He is right, Jane. Please try and relax. Fighting the pain will only make it worse.’ Aurora said to me. ‘Do you understand? It also helps with our mate next to us.’

“Yes, I understand. But it hurts so damn much.” I said out loud.

‘We can speak to each other in our minds. You do not have to talk to me out loud.’

“Love, I know you are talking to Aurora, you can speak to her in your mind.” Lucas said what Aurora had just said, and I heard her giggle inside my head. “I am going to shift into Spartis now. Having him near you will help with the shift.”

I nodded, “Okay.” I whispered, breathing heavily through the pain.

“Just remember, Jane. This first shift is always the most painful. It does get easier. I promise.” Lucas said as he kissed my forehead before he shifted.

I always loved seeing his wolf. He is so beautiful. I can’t wait to see my wolf, Aurora. Just then I felt what felt like bones breaking and readjusting as I screamed more and Spartis began rubbing on me which does help a little.

‘Just sit back in your mind and let me take over. I promise to make this as less painful as I can.’ Aurora says as I try and do as she tell me.

With Aurora taking over and Spartis rubbing his body on me, it didn’t take long when it was finally over. I lay there on the floor breathing heavily with my eyes closed.

‘You can open your eyes now, love.’ I heard Lucas’s voice in my head, and I did as he said and opened my eyes.

Everything was brighter and clearer than ever. I looked at my outstretched arms and noticed instead of hands I had paws. And they were a silver gray in color.

‘You are so beautiful, Love. The colors are unique. From a silvery gray to like what looks like a bluish tint. Almost reminds me of the Northern Lights. The name Aurora fits perfectly.’

I smiled. I wonder what it looks like when a wolf smiles. I try to stand, and it feels weird. But I finally got up and worked my way to the full-length mirror in the corner of the room and looked at myself. Lucas was right. Aurora is out of this world of beautiful.

‘Wow, it is nice to finally meet you, Aurora.’ I said, admiring her in the mirror.

‘It is awesome to finally be awake and meet you, Jane.’

‘What do we do now, Lucas?’ I directed the question to my mate.

‘Anything you want to do, babe.’ He answers as he comes up to me and licks my face.

‘I want my family to meet Aurora.’ I spoke.

‘We can do that.’ He walked to the door and, with his mouth, pulled the door handle down. ‘I mind-linked them. They will meet us downstairs in front. I didn’t tell them why, so this will be a surprise for them.’

I giggled, ‘Good idea. I can’t wait to see their faces when they see Aurora.’

We worked our way downstairs, which felt strange for me walking on four instead of two. But we make it down.

A warrior standing near the door saw us and opened the door for us as we walked out. It didn’t take long before my family and Drake came out and looked around. I was behind a bush and let Lucas go out first in wolf form. My family looked at him with puzzled expressions, and then I heard Lucas. ‘Come on out, love.’

I walked out and everybody gasped. It was Lari to speak first. “Jane?”

I nodded and smiled as my tongue lolled out the side of my mouth. I guess that is how wolves smile.

“Oh my God. You are beautiful.” She exclaimed.

Aurora stood straight and preened to our Luna, glad to have her approval.

“Aurora? Your name is Aurora?” Drake asked?

Again, I nodded. ‘Our mate told our Alpha.’ Aurora informed me.

“Aurora.” My mother came over and hugged me. “My beautiful daughter.” I saw my mom’s wolf, Faith spoke through my mom.

Aurora licks our mother as everyone smiles and welcomes my wolf to the family.
