There’s Always A Way! [LazyTown]

Chapter 1~A New Start! Today was the new day of her new life. Layla Benson was thrilled to be there in a new town called LazyTown. It was such a pace from Sunnyside. Sunnyside was boring her, and she had needed a change. She needed to get away from friends who got her into a mess of trouble time and time again. Now she had her get out of jail card. She fully intended to use that card in her life. She had already moved into her new apartment there in LazyTown. She had boxes all over the place. Now she was meeting her new boss in person. She had talked over the phone with him a dozen times. He met her once to hire her. Now she was really meeting him, and she would be working for the Mayor of the town. Mayor Meanswell was his name. He seemed like a nice guy who was always in a cheerful mood. He was a short balding tubby man who was nice. Layla could already tell she was going to enjoy working for the guy. If he was easygoing all the time. Then she was going to be getting along with a man like that for a boss. Layla hummed to herself as she walked to work. She would have to save up some money later to get herself a car one day. She glances up in the sky after hearing a strange humming noise. She whips her head upward to see a blue and white airship in the sky floating about. Did the town have a blimp of some sort? She laughs as she shakes her head. No lights on the side. No saying about LazyTown on the side either. Layla shrug's as she heads off to work. She enters the huge red mayor building there in town. She pushes her blond hair out of her face as the wind blows it about. She had fixed herself up for the day and now the wind was ruining her hard work. She heads inside away from the wind. The day was still a beautiful sunny day. She loved days like this. She knew today was going to be a day she was not going to forget. Something about this day. Everything about it. ♥☆♥ "Miss Benson?" someone calls out her name. "Hello yes I am she" answers Layla. "Welcome, to LazyTown" a short tubby woman greets her. "I am Mrs. Meanswell. Mayor's wife" she explains as she extends a hand out for her to shake. Layla reaches out and shakes her hand. "Thank you so much. I am so thrilled to finally be here" answers Layla. "We are glad to see a new face arrive. Did you move here fine?" asks Mrs. Meanswell. "Sure did. I almost got everything unpacked. I still have some work to be done" admits Layla sheepishly. "you know how it goes" chuckles Layla. Mrs. Meanswell nods. "That I do. The Mayor is waiting by the phones. Come this way. He sure needs your help. You came at the perfect time. We needed rescuing. I am taking care of his niece Stephanie in the afternoons. So, I could no longer work here you see" she explains. "I heard. I can't wait to meet everyone here in LazyTown. I saw outside you have a blimp is that for sports events in town?" asks Lala curiously. Mrs. Meanswell laughs. "Oh no that is not the towns airship. No that belongs to a gentleman here in town" says Mrs. Meanswell. "To our own town hero Sportacus." She tells her. "Spot-a-who?" answers Lala who was feeling confused now. "Welcome Miss. Benson!" chirps a happy Mayor who was seated at his desk. "I will be right with you dear" says Mayor Meanswell. "I see it is busy here" laughs Layla. "nothing is lazy about LazyTown" says Layla. "Not at all" agrees Mrs. Meanswell. "have a seat while you wait. Stephanie will be here home from school soon. I must be going" she tells Layla. "Goodbye" answers Layla as the lady leaves. "Welcome welcome to LazyTown" says Mayor once he is off the phone. "this is the town where you want to get away from it all yes yes, and I hope you will find this place to be your home" he tells her. "let me show you to your workstation" he offers. He gets up waddling around the large desk in his office. His phone rings again, "Dear me! I am getting more calls about Sportacus. Just a moment" he tells her. "Sport-a-who?" answers Layla. ♥☆♥ Second time today she was hearing all about this so-called hero in town. She was rather curious to know more about him. She noticed a photo on the Mayor's desk there. One of his wedding photos. And the girl who must be his niece. She had bright pink hair. A cute little girl. Then there was one with some strange looking man wearing a light blue jump suit. He had a hat on his head. He had a perfect mustache. And a bright smile. He was very good looking. Very very tall. Maybe this was Sportacus. The one she kept hearing about. "Sorry to keep you waiting. Come with me Miss Benson" says Mayor. "No worries" says Layla. She follows Mayor to her desk. She had a nice little desk near his in the office. And it was by the window. She could see the lovely park outside beside her window. It was a lovely view. She heard the school bell going off. And kids were pouring out of the school. She spotted kids rushing to the park to play. She missed that feeling of being free. A kid at heart. "This is your phone. You click the little red button here to transfer a call to me there see the button?" asks the Mayor as he points to the phone. "Oh, sorry yes sir, I see the button" she replies. "See this button here?" he asks her. "Yes sir" she replies. It was a tan button. "That is for a rotten person here in town. We don't answer his calls. He has nothing nice to say about the town. So, when that man calls it beeps do not answer or forward his calls out to me. I do not want to hear what he has to say. Understand?" asks Mayor. "That awful huh?" asks Layla. "The worst. I wish he would move if LazyTown make him so unhappy. But he won't" sighs the Mayor. "People like that only like to make others around them unhappy because they are unhappy to" says Layla. She delt with a person like that long long ago. "Right, he is just that same way. Always causing issues and making our life crazy" mutters Mayor. "I got it. So red button sends in calls. Tan button no calls" she answers him. "Hey, you catch on quick. Now answer calls and I can get back to work" says the Mayor. "You got it boss" promises Layla. Mayor nods then smiles before heading back to his desk to get work done. She glances at the kids playing in the park. She hears giggling and laughing. "Pass me the ball Sportacus I am open" someone was yelling. "No, me Sportacus not her!" yells another kid. ♥☆♥ She tries to get a look at this Sportacus. He was playing with the kids in the park. He looked to be around her own age. He was tall and handsome from what she could see. He was kicking the ball around so fancy to impress the kids. They were loving it. Her heart fluttered inside. He must be a kid magnet. She laughed as she watched them play. Almost wishing she could join them in the game. Then her phone rings. Snapping her back into her world. "Time to get back to work" sighs Layla. Until sees the button was the tan one beeping. She ignores the call. Wondering who was going to complain. She bet it was about the kids game in the park. What kind of man would complain about kids playing? "Awful man, go away" she mutters to the phone. The phone light stops beeping. She looks pleased.
