Chapter Thirteen

Blake Where are you? You've been gone all day, I asked Brea. I've been worried sick all day and none of them have been heard from since morning. Calm down, we're on our way now. We've been shopping and we are beaten, she complained. WHO BEAT YOU?! No one, we're just really tired from shopping. Oh, I sighed in relief knowing that Samantha was alright. How far are you? There was a slight pause before she answered. Max said 10-15 minutes. 20 if we run into traffic. Just get here as fast as you can, I commanded. Whatever, see you later baby bro! she chuckled and I eventually found humor in her words and laughed along. "Uh Alpha?" I snapped back into reality. I was in my conference room with Adrian, Andre, Lucas, Lili, Alpha Cole and some of my pack warriors: Elias, Johnathan, Nicholas, and Dana. Yes, Dana was the only female in the group, but she was a fast runner and a good tracker so they needed her. I realized it was Adrian who had called me and turned to him. "Sorry, I was checking in on the girls. So, what's the problem again?" "Dana found out the rogues are indeed teaming up and are planning on attacking the Silver Feather Pack," Adrian answered. I groaned and rested my elbows on the table, folding my hands and putting my head in them. Why was being an Alpha hard? It didn’t help that I was the leader of one the strongest pack in the country either. Most that other packs looked up to me, including SF. "How many?" I wondered, praying silently in my head it wasn’t as bad as I thought. "It seems that they are splitting into two groups," Dana answered. "Of?" "Well, in total there's about 100. So, 50? I didn't get an exact amount." I sighed at her answer. 100 rogues. That was a lot. "What do we do Alpha? That's obviously a problem," Adrian said and I shot daggers at him and he backed off. "Sorry, my wolf took a little control." "He's not happy about the situation, is he?" Andre guessed and I nodded. "Nope, and I neither am I. This could turn into a war if the situation is not handled properly," I sighed. I began to think. We would have to get rid of the rogues before they attacked Silver Feather, or else there would be a war. Not that we wouldn't win it. "Ok, here's what I think: We have a wolf or so watch the rogues. The rest of us will train. We have to get rid of them before they attack. They don't know that we know they're planning on attacking. So we train and when we're ready, we go all out. Leave no rogue alive. If they surrender, lock them up, but if not, kill them," I said. "Any questions?" There was silence in the room but Lili and Lucas gasped at the same time. "What?" we all asked. "Mate," they both whispered in unison. I lifted an eyebrow at both of them. "Two of my wolves are your mates, of course," I muttered to myself but then I smelled my own mate so I knew she was home. "Brea!" I called, knowing she would hear me. She slowly went up to the stairs, and she and my mate's scent grew stronger. I also smelled Max's scent, who was following the girls and I growled. One touch and I swear I was going to break his arm. Brea, Sam, and Max all walked into the room and Brea had been right. They all looked tired. Why did girls tire themselves out like that? I sighed and walked to my mate and wrapped my arms around her. She looked like she was going to pass out any minute now. "Mate," I heard people whisper at the same time. We all looked up to see Lucas and my sister having a staring contest and Lili and Max were doing the same as well. Wow, never saw that one coming. "Wow, this is awkward, huh Andre?" Adrian nudged Andre. "Um, no? I have a mate too you know? And I'm married to her. Speaking off, it's getting late and I promised her I wouldn't be here for too long." He got up and nodded or bowed at everyone before he made his way. I still have the day off, right? I promised Emma that a few weeks ago, Andre reminded me through our link. Yes, you do. Go have fun with your mate. And tell Emma happy 21st. It was odd that Andre and Emma were so young but they acted like they have been married for at least twenty years. That was the power of the mate bond. That was the power of love. I couldn’t wait until Samantha and I hit that stage in our relationship. I will, thanks. Oh, and we'll see you tomorrow night. You didn't forget to make the reservations, right? Of course not. We'll see you two tomorrow night. Ok good. Thank you again. Goodnight. "I'm so tired," Sam complained closing her eyes. She leaned her head into my chest and sighed in consent and I smiled. "I can see that," I chuckled. "Would you like to go to bed?" "No, it's still too early. Even though we were out all day shopping, I don't want to go bed just yet." "Ok. So what do you feel like doing?" I wondered. "Nothing, maybe a midnight snack?" she hoped, already slipping out my arms. "Ok, let's go find something to eat." I go to make my way out but then remembered that everyone was still there. I had totally forgotten about them. I forgot we weren't alone. That's how Samantha made me feel though. As if we were the only two people in the family. "You guys are dismissed. You all know the plan." "Thank god. I'm not watching these four make out. One couple is enough, I don't two need more," Adrian joked and the couples all shot daggers at him. He held his hands up, surrendering before following me and Cole out. Samantha already left downstairs and I was going to join her. We all found her making sandwiches. "You're making us sandwiches?" I raised an eyebrow, taking a seat at the island. "Yeah. Do you two want any as well?" "I would like three grilled cheese," Adrian said sitting on the couch. Cole sat on the opposite couch looking surprised as the rest of us. "Um, ok?" Sam started looking for a pan and we laugh at her struggle. After a minute, she finally found it. She lit the stove and found the bread on top of the fridge and cheese inside. She placed four bread then two slices of cheese, then pressed them together. You should have told her we have a sandwich presser, Adrian said in my head and I laughed lowly so Sam couldn't hear me, but then I remembered that she wasn't entirely human and she whipped her head at me. "What's so funny?" she wonders placing the sandwiches on a plate. "You heard that?" Alpha Cole and Adrian ask at the same time. "You know what, never mind. Is there a specific sandwich you want Alpha?" "How did you know he was an Alpha?" "Had did you know I was an Alpha?" Adrian, Cole, and I asked at the same time. "That's not the point," she quickly said while walking over to Adrian and handed the plate to him. "I'll take a grilled cheese as well," Cole said. "I bet if Adrian wanted three you'll want a hundred," Sam joked and it's probably true too. Alphas were the largest wolf of the pack. We tended to eat a lot. "No thanks, one's fine." "Oh." Sam almost seemed disappointed by his answer but she quickly recovered and started making the sandwich. It took her almost fifteen minutes to make all the sandwiches. "Here you go. Would you like one as well?" she asked me, starting to clean up a little bit. "No, I'm not hungry." "That was surprisingly good," Adrian said getting up and throwing the plate out. "Are you doubting my cooking skills?" Sam sarcastically asked. "No, I never hand your cooking before so I'm saying you made a good first impression." Adrian left to patrol after that. "Well, I better get going as well. I have a pack to train," Cole said throwing the plate out as well. "What are you talking about?" Sam wondered. "Nothing," I lied and Sam sent me a look. "Fine, I'll tell you later." Before going upstairs to get Lucas and Lili, Cole made a whipping sound, causing me to growl at him. "So, what was he talking about?" Sam wondered sitting on my lap and wrapping her arms around me. "Alpha Cole has a problem and he needs to train his pack to solve it," I answered in defeat. "What kind of problem?" "Rogues." "Oh. That's it?" "Basically yeah. Are you tired now?" I changed the subject. "Sort of. I still need to put my new clothes away though. Then I'll sleep." "Ok, need help?" "Hm, no. Maybe I'll get Alpha Cole to help me," she smirked and I growled at her. She hopped from my lap and pulled me upstairs to our room. Well, this should be fun…
