Chapter Five

Samantha "You look hot!" Emma complimented. We were back at her apartment after shopping all day. The sun had set hours ago and I just finished getting ready along with Emma. The dress we bought for me was cute, short, and simple. It was an off the shoulder dress that hugged my hips and ended a couple of inches above my knees. The dress was designed so I couldn't wear any undergarments besides a strapless bra. I rather wear underwear than a bra, to be honest. Since I was a size bigger than Emma, we had to buy a pair of white heels. I think they were my favorite pair of heels I ever bought. They were white, opened toed, and strapped above my ankles and were only three inches off the ground. My hair was left in my natural curls and my makeup was done to perfection to match my outfit. Emma was already prepared with a red, knee-length off the shoulder dress. It dipped into her breast a little bit but not enough to show her cleavage. She wore thick red pumps with long heels. I felt bad for her feet the second she put them on. She used sparkly eyeshadow and winged her dark brown eyes. When we returned home, Andre was pacing back and forth in the living room. He was afraid that something might have happened to us, Emma mostly. We were gone for about five and a half hours. And then we had less than three hours to get ready which felt like little time. "Thanks, you too. I love your dress. But why didn't you get a short skirt? Not that I mind the length." "It's Andre," she rolled her eyes. "He only wants me to show skin to him, and only him. Girls are an exception, though. I'm surprised he's even letting me go." "As am I. I guess I've been whipped," Andre said coming into the room. He's wearing a red button-down- to match with Emma's dress, with black dress pants and black dress shoes. He stared at Emma and me, mostly his wife though, as if we were dog treats. "Now that I think about it, you shouldn't be going out like that. Nope. You should stay here with Sam." "While you and the guys go out?" she asked crossing her arms. "We're already ready, we might as well go. Plus, it's my birthday." "First of all, your birthday is tomorrow. As long as you don't leave my sight I guess it’s ok if you tag along," Andre acquiesced. "What about me?" I wondered. "You'll be with Adrian and Blake. You can leave my sight all you want," he smirked back. "Hey!" I said smacking him on the shoulder. "You're going to leave me with a Beta and the Alpha?" "Yup!" The couple smiled and laughed. I chuckled along with them "I hate you two so much." "I love you too, Sam," Emma continued to smile. "That's not what I said, but whatever your pretty little head heard, I'll go with. I bet they're going to abandon me and go find some other drunken girls to spend the night with. Leaving me alone sitting at the bar all night," I imagined while frowning. "I know I wouldn't if I were them," Emma said. "You're just trying to make me feel better." "Am I doing a good job?" "Sure," I rolled my eyes, just for her sake. "Now let's go." "Finally," Emma agreed while Andre left to get the car started. We were going to a new club that opened tonight. Apparently, it was called Nirvana, which sounded like a cool name to me. The drive was less than an hour away so that was definitely an advantage. I knew Emma was planning on getting hammered, and if the night was going to go as planned, so was I. "Ok, we're here," Andre announced sounding a little tired, probably from driving. Or the fact that he's been working all day. "Ready to have fun?" Emma asked me, unbuckling her seat belt. "Sure," I murmured, mimicking her actions. "Where's your enthusiasm?" Andre wondered before stepping out of the car. He ran around the front and opened Emma's door like a gentleman. I opened my door. "Hell yes!" I replied louder. I received a few looks from passing people but I didn't care. Emma and Andre laughed at me before I tagged along. We walked up to the front of the club giggling. Andre informed the bouncer that we had reservations under 'Alpha.' The tall and intimidating bouncer searched his list before head counting us. "There's only supposed to be two of you. Why do you have an extra person?" he questioned crossing his arms. "I have Blake, Adrian, Andre, and Emma reserved under 'Alpha'. Explain why you thought you could sneak in another girl." Emma and Andre shared worried looks. "No one knew you were coming, so you weren't added to the list," Andre explained while facepalming. "I'll run inside and get him. This was just a misunderstanding." "Don't worry about it, I'll just pay my way in. How much is it?" I asked, searching inside my clutch. The bouncer replied $15 and I handed him a twenty. He handed me back my change before lifting the barrier that blocked us from entering Nirvana. "You owe me." I looked at Andre. "I personally apologize, Sam. I should have called Blake when Emma told me you were in Manhattan," Andre said as he led us through the sweaty crowd. The second the curtain closed, ear-pounding music was heard and streams of lights were beamed onto sweaty dancing bodies. There's also a strong aroma of alcohol and even more sweat. Other than the negatives, Nirvana was exciting. "Hey!" I half shouted over the thumping music. "I'm going to get a drink." "Mind getting me one too?" Emma asked. Even though it's her birthday weekend, I knew the bartender wouldn't allow her to buy a drink. "What do you want?" "Same thing as you." "If it's not that strong," Andre added causing Emma to frown at him, which he ignored. I laughed and made my way through the crowd of dancing people. Guys checked me out as I passed them. They smirked and winked as I maneuvered my way to the bar. I finally made it the front, which wasn't as loud as the entrance so I didn't have to shout to the bartender. He was pale and had short cropped blonde hair and light green eyes with freckles. He looked to be 16, but I knew he had to be older than that. In California, you had to be over the age of 21 to serve liquor. But that was across the country, so I didn't question it. "What can I do for you beautiful?" he winked and I flushed a little bit. "Can I get two orders of s*x on the Beach please?" He frowned when he heard two. Sorry buddy, you're not my type anyway. He barely stood over me with dirty blonde hair and light green eyes. He had pale skin like he couldn't tan with freckles covering his arms. "Can I see an ID please?" he requested. I nodded and took out my driver's license. He took a swift glance at it before handing it back to. He made the drinks in less than two minutes and was shocked to say in the least. He set them on the counter and I slid him a twenty and walked away. I made my way back to Emma and Andre, or where I left them. But when I came back, they were gone. I looked all around me until I heard someone call my name. I looked in the direction I heard my name and saw Emma frantically waving her hand. Her and Andre were sitting at the booth. I made my way over, successfully without spilling the drinks all over my white dress, which was a miracle in this club. As I got closer, I realized that they weren't alone. Adrian was there, sitting next to Andre on his left. I walked up to them and slid in getting on Emma's right. "Here," I said and passed her drink into her expecting hands. "Thanks, I owe you." Before she could take a sip, Andre snatched it away. He observed it carefully. "I told you not that strong," he disapproved while shaking his head. "It isn't," I argued back. Ok, I slightly lied. Yes, it contained vodka, but it was balanced with other ingredients. "This looks to be s*x on the Beach." Again, he wasn't wrong. "It's a cocktail," I rolled my eyes. "Guess we'll be splitting this one," he said, taking a sip. He winced slightly and passed the drink back to Emma. "Like we weren't going to be doing that already." Emma took a sip as well and winced more than Andre and I laughed at their reactions. Adrian joined along. I looked over him. He cleaned up nicely. He's wearing a white button-down with a black tie. He had styled his hair and shaved. He looked even sexier than he did on the plane, and I didn't think that was possible. "Can't handle your liquor, Williams?" he teased. I looked at his two drinks in front of him. One was an opened beer and the other was a vodka martini that hadn't been touched. Someone was going all out tonight. "Says the one drinking beer," Emma scoffed. "It's not even that strong," I agreed with Adrian. He caught my eye and his lips turned upwards into a small smirk. "How much do you want to bet you're going to wince?" Emma turned her attention back to me. "My admission fee plus our drinks," I waged. "Deal." There was a fire in her eyes when she agreed. Ironic because we're both mermaids. I smirked before taking a huge swig. And, as Emma said, I winced. I even started gagging. After I got my breathing under control, the table was filled with laughter. I looked up to see Adrian laughing hard. If I wasn't so annoyed, I would be turned on by his laugh. "You should have seen your face! It was priceless," he continued to laugh and I rolled my eyes, ignoring his comments. I took another gulp and tried my hardest not react this time. "Ah. Second time's the charm," I muttered to myself as I set down my drink "Don't you mean third?" Adrian corrected, taking a swig of his beer. He finished it and began sipping his martini. This wasn't the Adrian I knew. He was much kinder when I first met him. Then it struck me: he's drunk. How long has he been here if he's already this drunk? "Shut up," I muttered again, knowing that if I didn't murmur it and he wasn't drunk, I would be dead. "Better watch who you're talking to Sam," he threatened. How did he- oh right. I forgot he was a werewolf. "He's right Sam," Andre agreed seriously and I nodded back in understanding. I take a few more big swigs while Andre spoke again. "So, where's Blake?" Adrian answered with a shrug. "I haven't seen him since he left me with some girl." I finished my drink and placed the empty glass on the table. That hit the spot. However, it made me feel the need to use the bathroom. Vodka always went straight through my system. "But he's still around. I can barely smell him though." "I'll be right back. Got to use the bathroom," I excused myself from the little group and made my way to the back of the club. I pushed my way through people who were dancing or drinking, ignoring the comments I received. I walked down the long hallway, looking down at my sore feet. I should have worn flats instead of stilettos. Whatever, it was worth it. I accidentally bumped into someone, making me stumble in my heels. But not just anyone. I bumped into a guy made entirely of muscles. Literally. It was like there was nothing human about him. He was just made of stone and muscles. I pushed him away and immediately began apologizing. "I am so sorry. I should have been looking up and watching where I was going.” He doesn't accept my apology, which was rude, so I just sidestepped him and continued to walk to the bathroom. He grabbed my wrist, stopping me from getting anywhere too far. "Hey!" I proclaimed, trying to pry him off, which was a fail. He doesn't speak as I tried to pull his giant hand off of me. "Get off of me, right now." "No," he finally refused. Oh, my gosh, his voice. I'm literally melting. It was so deep and husky, and wait a minute. He's a total stranger! I can't be attracted to this guy. What was with me today? I made out with a stranger in a plane's laboratory and now I was attracted to a complete rude stranger. "I said get off," I repeated with more authority laced in my voice. This time, I attempted to yank my hand closer to me. I only ended up making the situation worse. His hand was now on my waist and my hand laid on top of it. I considered his black like eyes as he looked back into my blue ones. Wait a minute? He has extremely dark brown eyes. Nearly black looking. I looked up, hoping I would be wrong. Jet black hair. There's no doubt about it. "Alpha Blake," I whispered in fear. He smirked back. "You know who I am?" he wondered c*****g an eyebrow. I'm too shocked to speak so I just nodded. "Perfect.” His smirk only grew into a dangerous one. One I didn't trust. "Um, I don't mean to get on your bad side, but can you get off me please?" "I think the better question is can you get off me please?" I looked down to see that I was still holding his hand in place on my waist. A part of me didn't want me to let go. So, when I did, that part cried. "Sorry," I murmured. However, when I remove my hand, he didn't remove his. In fact, he just snaked his arms made of steel tight against my waist. "What the-" Stop lying to yourself. You know you like it. No, I didn't, did I? Before I time to finish my complaint, he leaned in and placed his head in my neck and sniffed me. Weird, yet I wasn't stopping him. "You smell good." It was like he was hypnotized or something. The way he said that was like he had never said that before, or at least not in a while. "Um, thanks?" I said, kind of unsure. Then out of nowhere, he growled. Not loudly, but he does it loud enough so I'm aware. "Why did you leave the house dressing and smelling like that?" he questioned. I pushed him back again. This time, hard enough to actually get him off me. Didn't he just say I smelled good? So was that another compliment or an insult? "Look," I said very seriously and he doesn't just look. No, he stared. It took me a minute to get back on track. I got lost in his dark eyes. "I don't want to cause trouble with you Alpha Blake. I'm only here for a short time and I don't want to stir up any problems. So, if you can do me the favor of leaving me alone, I'm going to go." This time he let me go, and I continued heading to the bathroom without any interruptions. I walked into the bathroom, glad that no one else was in there. I left my clutch on the white marble counter and went to do my business. When I came out, I washed my hands and dried them. Before I left, I checked to see how my makeup was holding up. My eye makeup was still in place, but the rest of my face could use redoing. It was a good thing this place was darkly lit, besides the flashing lights, so no one could tell it was a little messed up. I sighed before turning away from the mirror. Before I could walk out of the bathroom, the door opened. I assumed it was just one of the girls here at the club so I ignored it. I was wrong. Undoubtedly wrong. It was Blake, obviously. Wait a minute. Wasn't this the girl's bathroom? What's he doing in here?! Pervert much? His current black eyes were on me and nothing else. He closed our distance by striding over in two huge steps. He was in front of me in a second, his tall muscular body towered over mine. Just staring at him was such a turn on. What did I just say?! When have I ever been turned on? Ok, maybe a few times, but that wasn't the point. A guy was in the girl's bathroom and I was turned on by it. "Don't you ever walk away from me like that ever again. Do you understand?" His alpha voice was so commanding and threatening. I nodded out of fear, too afraid to actually respond. "Good. You're also going to do as I say without complaint, understood?" I nodded again. All time seemed to stop as I realized what I agreed to. Where's my brain when I needed it? It probably died the second I laid eyes on the guy. That was probably true. I hadn't realized that Blake's arms were around me until he lifted me onto the cold bathroom counter. As promised though, I kept my mouth shut. I instantly regretted it. Blake was now standing in between my legs, which were wrapped around his waist to keep him from escaping. When did this happen? No turning back now. You still liked it. I did, I really did. I felt myself grow wet for him. I heard Blake growl and suddenly his lips were crashing onto mine. Immediately, sparks flew through me, my body was flowing with electricity, and it felt incredible. I didn't respond at first and that made him angry. He forcefully made me kiss him back by opening my mouth forcefully and slipped in his rough tongue. Blake hands traveled down to my butt and gave it a squeeze. I squealed which then turned into an involuntary moan. Blake growled against my lips and I was now moaning against his lips, kissing him back. I snaked my arms around his neck, pulling on the roots of his dark disheveled hair. By now our bodies were crashing against each other and I could feel something poking in my inner thigh. I grew more wet, knowing what it was. Blake growled once more, but this time his lips left mine, allowing me to finally catch my breath. I was breathing hard but he didn't stop to pleasure me. He continued kissing down my jawline, down to my neck. I let my head drop back, moaning. He licked, kissed, and sucked my sweet spot, on the left side of my neck. The feeling was amazing until I felt a pair of fangs puncture my skin. I cried out in pain but it was over just as it started. It reminded me of getting a shot at the doctor's office. But I would prefer the shot over his fangs. He removed his teeth and repeated the licking, kissing, and sucking until the pain was just a tolerable sting. Blake removed his hands from my waist to first remove my hands from around his neck to either side of his face. He placed his hand on my exposed thighs. He looked deeply into my blue eyes. "You're mine," he growled out. The realization hit me hard. I was his mate. I was his. s**t. "I assumed that when you bit me." I removed one of my hands to feel the mark. It felt like two stretched piercings. If I could, I could probably fit two studs in there. The mark proved that he was mine and I was his. I just had to be the mate of an Alpha. "So, you know?" he assumed. "I know you're mine," I simply shrugged, trying not to look in his eyes. I didn’t want to be his, but after his mark, I didn’t have much of a choice. He gripped my chin and forced me to look back into his brown eyes. From afar, they definitely looked black, but sitting just inches away from them they were an extremely dark brown. However, they appeared black, probably due to our heavy make out. "And you're mine. No one can ever touch you, ever," he threatened and I gulped. "Speaking of you, we're leaving." He stepped back, offering his hand so I can jump down from the counter. I hesitantly take it and placed my heels on the tiled floor. His hand was huge but warm. I fixed my dress so it looked decent instead of in a disorderly mess. I grabbed my clutch and walked out with Blake. Holding hands with my mate. This was what true content and satisfaction felt like. The mermaid in me was jumping off a cliff into the ocean. Everyone in our group was staring at us as we approached them near the exit. I could only assume that Blake mind linked them to meet us there. I got weird looks from Andre and Emma but soon Andre's face turned into realization. He bowed his head at us and I blushed in embarrassment. I looked over and saw that even Adrian was bowing slightly. Emma was the last one left. What did the hell happen? She asked through our own mind link. We haven't spoken like this since forever. I went to the bathroom, ran into him and then we had a huge make out session then he marked me, I summarized. I want details, Emma complained and I laughed aloud. We got weird from the boys and we flushed in humiliation. Sometimes I forgot no one else knew about our link. "What are you laughing about?" Adrian wondered suspiciously. "Nothing," I lied looking away. I grabbed Emma's wrist and we made our way back to the car. "After that, I don't think you will be able to go back home," Emma stated truthfully. "Me neither," I agreed while secretly gulping. What had I gotten myself into?
