Chapter Seventeen

Emma "What the hell was that?" I wondered once Ricky disappeared. "I don't know," Andre sighed. He told the bouncer ‘Alpha’, which is weird but I ignore it and he lets us in and once we're, I could feel someone watching me. "What are we doing here?" I questioned. We were in the same club we went to two nights ago. It seemed such a long time ago though. "Remember when I asked you dinner or a club?" I nodded. "Well, we're doing both." "If only I knew we were going to be doing both, I would have worn something more acceptable. This dress is way too long," I complained. "Maybe I can fix that." "How?" "Follow me." He led me to the back to the club to the bathroom. He stopped right outside the girls' bathroom before heading in. "Alright, we got to do this quick." "Do what?" I wondered getting slightly turned on. He bent down on his knees and I hear tearing. I look down to see my dress ruined. The long length was now gone and was replaced by a knee-length now, the white was hardly there. "You ruined my dress!" I complained. He stood back up to his regular height and I gave in. "But I love you for it." I go to kiss him but he pushed me back and I gave him a weird look. "Someone's about to come in," he warned me and pulls me out of the bathroom. He yanked me up the hall where there were a stained-glass window and a bench. He quickly sat us on it and crashed his lips against mine. We heard someone stop and head into one of the bathrooms. I quickly pulled away and smiled at Andre. "What's gotten into you?" I wondered tapping his shoulder. "Just, making sure you have a good night," he murmured, bringing his lips to mine again. I heard the bathroom door open and the sound of heels clicked, getting closer to me but I ignored it. Finally, it stopped right in front of us. "Can we help you?" I wondered not taking my eyes away from Andre's face. "Yeah, I'm trying to find my best friend named Emma." My eyes exploded my name but then went back to normal. There could easily be another Emma in this club. There were a lot of people here and this place was huge. "What does she look like?" I wondered. "She has dirty brown hair and brown eyes and she's married to her mate named Andre and she moved to New York. Name a bell?" I gasp as she describes me and my current life. I finally turn to her. I see a pretty girl with platinum and lilac hair, grey eyes in a black dress that shows her breasts a little bit. "Um, I'm sorry, do I know you?" There was something about her. The hair, the eyes, her voice. "For God's sake Em!" It's me!" I threw my arms around her at once. "Serena?! What are you doing here?!" I wondered gripping her harder. "You didn't think I would miss your 21st birthday, did you?" "Of course not! I've missed you so much," I whispered pulling away. "Me too! Would you like a drink?" she suggested raising an eyebrow and I raised one of my own. "Aren't you a couple of weeks early?" "They don't know that." "They're going to ask you for your ID," I informed her. "That's what I've got you for." She started to skip away toward the bar and Andre and I followed her laughing. "What shall I order?" I pondered. "Oh, I know!" I'll order that drink I had the other day. Wait, I don't what it's called. I'll just have to ask Sam. Hey Sam? Yeah? What was the name of that drink you ordered at the club the other night? What kind of margarita? Strawberry- banana, why? I'm at the club and I'm about to order my first drink. Mind ordering me one? You're here?! Yeah, didn't Andre tell you? No, give me a second. "Sam's here?" I accused crossing my arms. "Sam's here too?!" Serena shouted and we laughed. "Apparently," I shrugged then turned my attention to the bartender. "Can I have three strawberry- banana margaritas please?" "Can I see an ID please?" I handed him my driver's license out of my clutch and handed it to him. "Happy 21st Birthday," he said handing it back to me. "Thank you," I said putting it back. "Can you make that four?" Andre wondered. "Sure," the bartender shrugs and then starts to make the drinks. "First time?" "Ordering or drinking?" I wonder. "Both," he smiles. "First time ordering, but I've drunk plenty of times," I laugh and he chuckles along. "Alright that's going to be $50," the bartender says pouring the mixed cocktails into four glasses. "Babe?" I asked. He sighs before taking out three twenties. "Thank you." I gave him a quick kiss on the check as I take two of the glasses wedging my clutch in my armpit. I turn to give one to Serena but to find her gone. Along with one of the drinks. "Where did she go?" I wonder. "Follow me," Andre said and lead the way. I follow him through the crowd, almost falling and getting lost, but I manage. Andre had to lead me to a big booth and I gasped as I see Serena, Sam, Alpha Blake, and Adrian there laughing and having a good time. When they spot me, they all shouted happy birthday in unison and I blush lightly at the attention I was receiving. "Thanks," I muttered and scooted in so I was in between Serena and Andre. Serena was next to Sam, she was next to Blake and he was next to Adrian. "Thanks," Sam said as I passed her the drink "I didn't know you were getting drinks. You should have gotten me one," Adrian pouted. "First off, I'm broke, Andre was buying. Second, go buy yourself one. Third, we all know how you get when you're drunk." "True. So, who are you again?" Adrian wondered and we all looked towards Serena. "One of my best friends," I defended wrapping my arm around her neck. "My apologies, I was just asking the girl a question." "That girl has a name and she's sitting right here," Serena interfered. "That girl is also very beautiful," he complimented. Andre, Sam, and I all sighed at the same time while the other guys are giving us looks. "Did we miss something?" Blake wondered taking a sip of Sam's drink. "Hey!" Sam complained. "I'm not driving back." "Well, you don't have a choice, I don't know how to get back home." "I'll guide you. I'm tired from pack stuff and I deserve to loosen up." "Home?" Serena said with her eyebrows lift. "Never mind," Sam said quickly. "So, how's San Francisco been treating ya?" "Same old, same old," Serena groaned as if her life was boring, which it shouldn't be since she had a baby to take care of. "You would think that but nope. My parents babysit like 24/7 so it gets boring," Serena disagreed with my thoughts and everyone looked confused. "Do you do that a lot?" I wondered. "When I'm around you or Sam. There's no one else I can do that to," she answered. "Oh," I said. "What are you to talking about?" Sam finally asked. Our mind link, I answered. "Oh," Sam realized and took a sip of the margarita. "If you're going to be driving back, you can't drink," Blake scoldsed taking the drink away. "What if we get arrested?" "Calm down, I took a sip. I'm not going to get drunk over one sip." "Man you guys are boring," Adrian complained. "Aw, are we not pleasing you enough?" Serena joked and Adrian flushed. "I've got to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back," Adrian excused himself and we all laughed. "How did you do that?" Sam wondered referring to the joke Serena made to Adrian, causing him to leave. Serena shrugged but laughs. Shouldn't you not be making jokes like that? You know, because of Ace? I asked in our mind link. First off, I'm slightly drunk. Second, he's like 12 states away, it's not like he can hear me. But can't he sense you? If I'm somewhat close, yes. But, as I said, I'm on the either side of the country. "Are they mind linking?" I heard Blake ask Sam and she nods. "He knows?" Serena wondered. "Sort of. He only knows about the mind link and the water thing," she murmured. "So, he doesn't know who we are?" "We?" Blake repeated, "I thought it was just you and Emma?" "Remember when I told you I know someone?" "So that's her? Interesting." "What?" Serena asked. "I feel like I know you." We all turn to Serena and she flushed. "Um, no you don't. I'm pretty sure I would know an Alpha when I see one," Serena giggled. "Does everybody know what I am?" "Yes," we all answer. "Still, I'm pretty sure I know you. Your scent smells familiar; like I haven't smelt it in years but I have smelt it before." "I-" "Yeah, you're right Blake," Adrian interrupted and Serena gasped at Blake. "I know her too. What's your name?" "Serena," she said slowly. "You're right. I do know both of you." "Yeah, but how though," Sam wondered. I slept with him, she informed me in the mind link.
