Everyone was shocked by my sudden boldness. I knew Ava was behind this, but I couldn't fix things now. I wish Ava could understand Penny's wolf was powerful, and now I had to play tough.
"You have one last chance to rectify your mistake. Pick up the book," she barked.
I nodded, trying to appear submissive. "Okay, if you say so."
My gaze dropped to the floor, then back to her. She folded her arms, and I flashed a brief smile before stepping on the book.
"How dare you!" Penny snarled, shoving me. I stumbled backward, caught off guard.
I let out a laugh. “What?! I'm only doing what you failed to do,” I responded, flipping my hair backwards.
