Episode 2: Is The Grass Greener On The Other Side

Autumn

I was in bed asleep when my phone rings waking me up. I rolled over and grabbed my phone off the nightstand and looking at the name that flashed across read "Baby Dady. What in the world did Josh want because after the way he walked off after kissing me at his parents home I thought I wasn't going to hear from him in some days.

"Josh really it's two in the morning"? I said sounding sleeply.

"Autumn" he sounded drunk and I don't know why honestly he was calling me with this.

"Yes Josh"?

"I'm outside is your mom home"?

I got out of bed and walked to my window looking down in the street there he was parked standing outside of his car.

"Autumn you on the phone what you just going to watch me from your window"?

"Are you drunk" I asked him.

"Look me and Danisha got into it after the cookout I went out and now I'm here and yes I'm f*****g drunk. They got a road block on the way to my crib please"?

I blew off and replied "my mom is home you need to park down the street make it seem like your car is broken down or something then meet me at my back door".

It took him all of thirty minutes to finally get to my back door he was walking and swaying and talking to himself while laughing.

"Shhh Josh damn" I said as he finally got to me and almost tripped up over my step.

"Sorry baby girl" he said walking into my house.

"Your momma not going to wake up is she"? he said as we went up the stairs.

"No she wont if you don't shut up" I said helping him up the stairs.

Once in my bedroom I locked my bedroom door and watched as he collapsed on my bed. As I removed my house shoes his phone ring "here answer that for me tell them I'm sleep". He said getting comfortable in my bed, I grabbed the phone and sat on the bed next to him.

"Hello"?

"Who's this"? Right then I knew it was Danisha.

"Autumn"

"Why are you answering my man's phone b***h"?

I laughed "your man my baby daddy so what are you saying"? I said looking over at Josh who was completely knocked out.

"He'll be home in the morning goodnight b***h".

I hung up his phone and sat it on the night stand beside him and got comfortable in my bed with the space I did have left.

"She's going to kill me because of your smart ass mouth girl".

He said with his eyes close and rolling over to place his arm on me to where his hand rested on my belly.

"You showed up here I didn't ask you to come over so if she kill's you it's your fault".

Josh sucked his teeth and replied "I don't got time for this tonight I'm tired as hell". With that he just fell asleep.

"What you mean you spent the night at Autumn's"? Red asked.

"Just what I said and I mean I slept good I didn't have to worry about fussing before I slept or waking up to no breakfast. Autumn cooked breakfast and you know I got me something to eat before I left".

"Yo I know Danisha flipped the f**k out"? I chuckled and said,

"I haven't seen her yet I went to the crib and she was gone she f****d my s**t up though, but material s**t I don't even care about".

Red was about to say something when my phone rang "baby momma calling hold up bruh".

"Hello"?

"You better come get your shut ass girlfriend before I open this door and beat her ass"! Autumn said to me, I could hear banging and Danisha's voice in the background.

"Autumn where you at"?

When she told me she was on her break at work I replied "I'm coming".

When I arrived at the Grocery store where Autumn worked there was Danisha yelling outside of Autumn's car. I walked over with Red and yelled "Danisha really"?! She turned and looked at me rolling her eyes.

"Yes really"!

"You look f*****g stupid girl for real why the f**k are you coming at my baby momma side ways"?

"Boy shut up you must've f****d her last night because you now taking up for her when all the other times you said you prayed you didn't get her hoe ass pregnant".

"Danisha shut up man damn"!

She shook her head "You're dumb and I don't have time for this s**t good luck with being a f*****g daddy stupid".

She walked off and Autumn opened the door "Autumn" she glared at me with this look.

"You don't have to take care of this baby I'm not putting no gun to your head".

"Autumn look Danisha is lying"

"Is she"?

"I never called you no hoe, but I did say I prayed I didn't get you pregnant me and you both aren't ready for no baby Autumn".

She looked at me and replied "well you did and once I drop this baby I'm going to beat your girlfriend ass she disrespected me to many times I gotta get back to work". I blew off as she walked away from me.

One Month later...

Autumn

"Do you want to wait or go on with the appointment"? I sigh looking at my phone where in the hell was Josh I told him this appointment was important this is when we were going to find out what the s*x of the baby was.

I looked at my mom and his mom and sigh saying "go ahead I've kept you waiting long enough".

The doctor shut the light and began placing the gel on my basketball size belly. "What are you hoping it will be"? She asked me.

"I'm hoping for a boy, but I'll be happy with whatever". I said smiling.

Just as she was placing the machine on my stomach the door opens and there was Josh with Danisha which was a surprise to me because for the past two weeks he was telling me he was single and that he didn't want to deal with Danisha and her bullshit. Now here she was in the room with this grin on her face. I looked at him and shook my head do this b***h have some type of hold on him or something?

"If your the dad you got here just in time it looks to be that this little healthy baby is a...boy"!

He started clapping his hands getting close to the monitor as I started crying because I got what I wanted.

"I got my boy" I said looking at my momma who was crying along with Josh's mom.

After the appointment I was still in the room waiting for the doctor to come back to give me my next appointment date when Josh came back in.

"Can't believe we're having a boy" he said with a smile on his face.

"Yep" I said with a little bit of a attitude.

"Autumn really you going to act salty after the good news we got".

I didn't say anything I shrugged my shoulders, he walked over to me and grabbed my hand and said,

"We not together alright we just trying to see if we can work things out again..." I pulled away and replied "you don't have to explain s**t to me just be here for the baby and we good".

"Autumn we been doing good these pass few weeks".

"Get rid of Danisha and we could go back to being good".

He rubbed the back of his neck "Autumn"?

"I'll see you later baby daddy".

Josh

The door opened and there she stood "you want to do this family thing fine here I am lets give this s**t a shot, but I'm going to warn you I do this street s**t that's something your going to have to accept".

Autumn looked at me and grinned "just like that"? I nod and say,

"yea just like that, so wassup"?

With this grin on her face she pointed to her belly "do we have a choice"?
