Nikki's POV
I wake up and realize that I have once again stayed overnight in the room where Louis rests in the hospital. It's not that anything happened between us; it’s just because of the guilt I felt for what happened a few days ago, which, thank God, my parents didn’t notice. Only Gaby and Luciano know.
“You’re awake,” I hear her voice as I see myself covered with a blanket.
“Yes, and how did you wake up today?”
“The same, although I can move some toes already. Actually, you scraped your arm on them.”
“They’re only minor wounds, Louis, nothing compared to yours. Now rest, I’m going to have breakfast, and then I’ll head to my father’s construction company.”
“If you don’t like it, you shouldn’t go, Nikki.”
“I do like it; I love my job, Louis.”
