1- Princess'
"Andrea?" I hear a soft, angelic voice whisper from the other side of the bathroom door.
"Chis, please go away." I whisper yelled to her as I stared at myself in the mirror.
"Andrea, you should go to someone for help, anyone." My sister persisted for the millionth time since she walked on father beating me.
"You don't understand Chris, this was my choice. I want this, no, I NEED this." I keep trying to explain to her without actually telling her the agreement I made with my father years ago. Even though all the bruises and bloodied parts of my body look horrifying, it honestly doesn't feel too bad.
"No, Andrea, you don't understand. Family isn't supposed to do this. We are supposed to help build each other up and be there when we feel weak."
I sigh dramatically, pulling a shirt over my head before opening the bathroom door. "Chris, you are the Princess of the house okay? I am the Princess of the street. Together we make a whole. I need to be trained so the people out in the world don't affect the inside of this house. Father is training me for that. So sit your ass behind these doors, be a good little dog, and stay put like father and I say."
I push past my sister and quickly make my way down the stairs and into the kitchen. She should know better by now that we do not talk about these things in front of the maids or other 'businessmen' that come to the house.
"It-"
"I am going to stop you right there Chair Princess. The conversation was over the second we stepped out of my room. First off, it is pointless to even mention such things because nothing is going to change. If you have a problem with how these things work then take it up with father. I will not be put in a position that goes against him in any type of way. He will only get respect from me, I suggest you start doing the same." I say, cutting her off before anyone can guess what we are talking about.
Grabbing a few different fruits from the fridge, I toss them onto the counter. I start looking for the blender to make my usual smoothie before going to the gym.
"I just don't understand why you are twenty-three and still acting like he is the King of the world. Why don't you just go out to a club or something and get laid? Maybe then you will see that he is depriving you from living an actual life." Chris tries to 'open' my eyes and I just let out a long breath before looking at her.
"What do you want me to do with my life, huh? Get pregnant by some guy I don't know because I was too drunk running away from what you think is daddy issues? Let's be real here Princess, the only thing that would 'fix' is me living here. I could guarantee I would be living in hell because father killed me when he found out. So no, kiss your idea of 'normal' out the window. I love my life, and I will be doing the same damn thing even if father dies." I stated as a matter of fact before starting up the blender to end the conversation.

"Princess number two, come to my office." I heard my father's voice announce over the intercom making me stop what I was doing. One thing you must know about my father, when he tells you to do something, you do it right then and there or else it is your ass on the line.
I quickly ran out of the home gym and up three flights of stairs to get to my fathers' floor. Within the first ten feet there are a few security guards to make sure unwanted guests stay off his part of the house. After all, when you are the one in charge of the Black Market, who wouldn't want to get dirt on you?
"Princess." The three guards addressed me before moving out of my way so I could go to my fathers' office on the far side of the hallway. I nod at them slightly in greeting before quickly going to the office door and knocking four times.
"Come in." I heard his rough voice call out before doing as he said.
I walk over to the front of his desk, standing in front of him without making eye contact. One thing you never do to an Alpha male when you are the one taking his place later down the line is make eye contact. My father said it is read as a challenge, regardless of if my intentions were good or not.
"Your sister will be singing at the club attached to the bidding wars. I need you to be positioned in the box that overlooks both aspects in case something goes down. You will be my eyes and ears tonight since I have a meeting with The Snakes downtown tonight. Make sure you get the spelling of names correctly, not to mention the sketches. That means make sure Eli does his job and doesn't f**k it up again this time. Remind him that if he has another bad night I will have him replaced."
I pick up on the underlying threat father is making, not that it takes a genius. Everyone in this business knows that 'replaced' is just a fancy word for murdered. After all, if you prove you are no longer good enough to do the job we hired you to do, you might as well have walked into our enemies' territory and just let them shoot you on sight.
"Do you have any questions?"
"No father."
"Good, leave the door open when you leave, I'm expecting someone." I nod, turning away before leaving his office.
You must be wondering how I can stay so calm around my father if he beats me so much. In all honesty, it's not that hard. Sure, the beatings suck, but they help me become better at my job. Eventually, I will be the leader, and I cannot be weak in a position like that. They have to know I am no stranger to pain, and even then they need to know that it will not affect me. Nothing will ever make me turn against my father or the people that work for us.
My twin sister doesn't understand any of that though. I mean I can't blame her considering father doesn't tell her everything like he does me. She thinks everything we do is legal, hence why she works on the club side of the business. She is so naive to what we are truly doing that it's kind of pathetic honestly. But that's what mother wanted for her. Since both of us couldn't be sheltered she wanted one of us to have a normal life.
I feel like Chris would have a better life on this side of the spectrum. I mean, how could getting drunk all the time and sleeping around be fun? It sounds utterly disgusting and downright unsanitary. Sure, I'm not a virgin, but it doesn't mean I understand the fascination with s*x. What could be so great that you would want to miss out on the dark side of life?
Sure, nobody outside of mother and father know our real names. That's partly because nobody in the business knows she exists except for our guards, and nobody in the legal part of life knows I exist. It's just easier to be called the same thing since we are identical. As always, I am the one that knows details, whereas all my sister really knows is her work schedule.
I prefer it this way though. That means I will be the one getting the Black Market. Of course, I would let her have the club if she wanted it. If not I will look after it and make sure that it stays my father's most visited LEGAL business.
For now, back to reality. Tonight, I will be running the business' as if they were my own. But first, I have to make sure my Dragons are thriving.
