Forbidden Contract with a DEMON

THE SACRED LIGHT HUNT

Many vampires just disappeared from the room; I could not follow them with my eyes at all.  Tammy said we can just take our time and walked so we walked till the back side of the castle. I saw the left side was a dark forest completely and trees were so huge. But on my right side,  it was a huge ancient stadium and I could see face of vampire, shifters and many other races talking, laughing and shouting

 On the front side, there were five thrones stood next to each other with small distance. They were made from white marbles with old looking writings and figures on them. Vampire Elder, Tammy’s grandfather was already sitting there. Behind him was the vampire side I thought as I saw the faces from the ball room sitting there. Next to Vampire Elder, another old man was sitting, he also had fangs and very long claw like nails, I guessed he was the Shifter Elder. Another Elder also came and sat on the throne, she had whitish blonde hair, her ears were very pointy, and she was covered with golden tattoos.

Tammy whispered. “She is the Fay Elder”

Behind the Fay Elder, the crowd was also covered with same tattoos and had pointy ears with golden eyes. Fays were so exotic that I found myself drooling for all of them. Their tattoos had very different patterns, covering their foreheads, necks, arms, and probably more areas that I could not see now, I thought. Their clothes were also very different than rest. Even during such cold weather, they were wearing summer clothes with some symbols on them, mostly they were wearing white and light colors.

Next to fair audience, I could see people with black clothes and pitch-black eyes. Suddenly, they started to cheer loudly. Then I saw the demon Elder entered the stadium. He was walking again arrogantly with a grin on his face. My eyes quickly found him again, the hooded guy. He followed the demon Elder and while Elder sat on his chair, he stood behind him like he was protecting him. For a second, I thought he was looking at me again. I tried to see his face but could not, because of the hood again.  

Now all Elders were in their place except for one. I think that empty seat was for human elder.

Vampire Elder started talking, looking at the other Elders. “Long time no see Elders. Tonight, is our pleasure to witness a Sacred Night. It has been 700 hundred years since the Sacred Light has been waiting for its new Chosen One. Now, finally we can welcome our Chosen One again. Last time, it was the Fay, who had the honor to have their Chosen One, this time let’s see which one it will be” He looked at Tammy.

“We decided that there will be a human participant this time, I can smell her next to your granddaughter, Vampire Elder. She is the rumored friend I assume?” It was the Demon Elder who talked. He was looking at me with a disgusted look. How lovely, I thought.

Vampire Elder also looked at me. “It is correct. She is the one we talked about yesterday. Her eyes could see my son even under his invisibility charm, she also saw Sacred Light in her dream it seems. Therefore, we must provide to follow the will of the light and let her be a participant”

Demond Elder smiled while looking at me. “What if she wins?”

The other Elders laughed. Vampire Elder hit his throne with his fist laughing. “Do you really think it is possible?”

Then demon Elder stayed silence as a reply and kept looking at me. I could not get what he was thinking. They were so hard to understand.

“Very well, we have all the participants I believe. Come forward in front of us, all of you” commanded the Fay Elder. She was a very beautiful woman; her tattoos were shining under moon light. She also looked very young unlike other Elders.

Mrs. Renorius took Tammy’s hand. “Be careful Tameris, we will be watching you. Do not risk yourself at all cost”

“I know Mother. Do not worry.”

Mrs. and Mr. Renorius walked to the audience part together with Raskar’s parents.

Tammy turned to me and Raskar. “Let’s go”

Together, we walked in front of the thrones of Elders. I also saw there were others coming front. Their faces were very familiar. I remembered my dreams. It felt like I saw their faces.

Tammy also looked at them. “There are seven participants other than us. I think three fays, three shifters and one witch. “

I could not understand the odd numbers. “Why only two from vampires and one witch?”  

“Later I will tell you” she said.

I saw that cute Asian guy with silver eyes also came forward to our side in front of the thrones.  We made an eye contact again. He was a shifter, but I wondered if he could change his body to all animals or was it only a specific one? I realized there were so many things that I did not know of.

Fay Elder giggled, even her giggle was like an exotic melody. “Wonderful. Such young and strong participants we have here. You must know that tonight is very important for the future of our nations. Therefore, every member of our non-human world will be watching you. You each will have a spell surrounding you and that will allow us to watch you tonight. Your actions, your words and all, will be watched as if we are next to you. As you know, this is a Sacred mission, therefore you are obliged to do your ultimate best to achieve it. I wish you all luck.”  She smiled and I was even more amazed by how beautiful she was.

Demond Elder laid back on his throne and crossed his legs. “As demons, we will watch all, closely again.” He must be feeling bad that demons could not participate.

“Well then, let the Sacred Light Hunt begin” said vampire Elder. All Elders rose their hands towards forest and sparkles surrounded us. Then all went to silence for few seconds and a sudden loud bell startled me again. Following the bell, before I could even react the audience started cheering loudly and other participants ran inside the forest. Only three of us and that cute Asian shifter were calmly waiting.

We looked at each other. Tammy nodded at us and we started walking. She Asian shifter also walked to the other side slowly.  I felt like I was crossing an invisible barrier just before we entered the forest. The air felt heavier and colder.

Tammy froze. “My Magic…”

Raskar turned to her quickly. “What happened?”

She looked at us. “My magic disappeared. I think that barrier we just passed does not allow me to use my magic here”  

Raskar looked annoyed. “Great. There is nothing we can do about it, so let’s keep moving”

I caught the Fay Elder as she was smiling looking at us.

We kept walking in the forest till the audience became invisible and voices could not be heard anymore. The trees were so high and thick in misty weather, so it was so hard to see ahead. Others must have moved faster so we could not hear them anymore.

It was getting hard for me to see even close distance. “Tammy, leave aside the supernatural things, even walking in this forest gives me the chills”

“I know Amy, I am really sorry that you had to come here”

“Ohh, you would be happier if I was not here? You don’t like me anymore?” I said smiling, trying to break the dark atmosphere.

“Genius, it is because I care about you that I don’t want you here” I could see her lips formed a little smile.

“You know that I enjoy our crazy moments of adventures, taking roller coasters, camping, hiking or even bungee jumping, but here is beyond my expectations. We broke a new record. Congratulations” I realized that talking had a calming effect on me.  

Tammy laughed. “Ahh please, those were very fun, admit it. You hesitated for bungee jumping, but you enjoyed it too. This time, I cannot really see the fun part”

“Really? I did not know you were so boring. See how much fun I am having, walking in this creepy dark forest, not seeing few meters away due to the mist and hearing scary noises. This is surely what I call having fun”

Raskar signed. “Will you keep talking like this? Because it might invite unwanted guests even more if you keep being loud like this”

I looked at him angrily. “Do you have a better idea to calm me down?”

“It is fine, we can hear if something is getting closer, right Raskar? asked Tammy.

“Surely. My point is they can also hear us talking to get closer” said Raskar.

I signed too. “And my point is that If I don’t keep talking, I will start screaming and running back to the start point so let me do as I want Mr. Fiancé”

He looked at me surprised. “Mr. Fiancé? Why do you call me like that?”

I sulked. “Because I am still mad that Tammy got engaged without me knowing”

Tammy pat on my back kindly. “Amy, I know but I explained to you. Humans don’t get engaged at sixteen years old, right? Without telling you that I was a vampire, there was no way I was telling you about the engagement”

“You could have told me that it was some family tradition or something?”

“I did not want to lie to you, well it is kind of a truth that is it tradition but still…I mean…”

Raskar interrupted her. “So, you got engaged with me because it is a family tradition?” His voice was sad a little.

Tammy looked at him in shock. “Nooo, it is not like that. I meant that it is a tradition in vampire world, but I wanted to…”  She quit talking suddenly. Both looked at left side.

“Something is coming” said Raskar. Tammy stood in front of me, putting her arms behind, trying to cover me.

Raskar was in front of us, he kneeled little bit like he was about to jump.

Then our unwanted guest became visible. It was that cute Asian shifter. I got relaxed after seeing him. But Raskar was still keeping his position, ready to attack him. “What do you want, Shifter”

Shifter put his hands up slowly. “Please do not attack, I do not want to fight. Sorry to bother you guys, I just wanted to see the human attendant. Everyone is saying that it is such a surprise to have a human here and they betted that she was going to die. I would not want that, so I want to help”

“We do not need your help” said Raskar coldly.

The Shifter looked at me shyly. “That, that should be decided by her I think. Ahh, I am Ryuu by the way. Sorry I should have said my name first. It means dragon in Japanese, but I cannot shift into a dragon” His hands were still up, his cheeks were getting red. He was looking very cute that it made me smile a little.

I looked at Tammy, giving her my look when I see a cute puppy. She was also feeling like I did so she signed and talked;

“Hi Ryuu, I am Tameris, just call me Tammy. If you want to protect Amy, we will be fine with it. But, still, if we see any wrong movement from you, you know that we are pureblood vampires and we will not be kind at all” Tammy was kind yet gave a strong warning. That was so cool, I thought.

Rasker frowned. “Tameris, do you really allow him to be with us?”

“Amy wants it, and I cannot say no to a person who wants to protect her”

I smiled looking at him. “I am Amy, Ryuu. Nice no meet you”

He smiled back shyly.  “Thanks”

Raskar growled. “Perfect! Now that we have a puppy with us too, shall we keep going?”

Ryuu sulked but did not say anything so we continued walking.

Tammy looked at him. “Why are you not with other shifters?”

“They do not like me very much.” He said simply.

Raskar checked him out. “Let me guess, because you are a weakling and shame for them”

Ryuu kept walking without looking at Raskar. “Actually no, I am the strongest shifter in my region. That is why they had to let me participate. I won against them. But when they wanted me to kill my opponents, I refused. So they do not like me”

That sounded so scary. “Is killing normal here, can you just kill anyone if you are stronger?”

Tammy shook her head. “Every race has their own rule. For vampires, it is strictly forbidden to kill your own. Especially a high rank vampire. But werewolves and shifters fight over territories all the time. Killing each other is not very rare for them.”

“Yes, this is the situation unfortunately” said Ryuu.

I looked him. He was very tall, but his face was looking young. “How old are you?”

He looked back at me smiling. “Seventeen”

“Tammy and I are sixteen and Raskar is….” I was trying to remember his age.

“Nineteen” Tammy said, looking at Raskar.

“Oh, yes he is an old guy” I teased him smiling. He gave me an annoyed look.

Tammy laughed too. “Amy, do not be harsh on him please”  

“I am your best friend and you got engaged without telling me. So that grants me the right to annoy him as much as I want”

Tammy shrugged. “Well, cannot argue about that”

Ryuu looked at us with curious eyes. “It is so different to see a pureblood vampire to get along well with a human…Normally your kind sees humans only as blood bags” 

Tammy quickly answered. “We do not see humans like that, not all of us. There is a mutual benefit, we take blood and they take money and good life standards. For me, I was always interested with their life, without magic and power, they create technology and weird devices. They fought and love each other, feel so much emotions strongly in a very short time so I wanted to understand them. I got so lucky to meet Amy when I first moved to one of our human servants house”

“So she was not your aunt but a servant?” I asked surprised.

“Yes, sorry about that too, I had to lie”

“That explains all. No wonder she was doing everything. The laundry, cleaning and top of that preparing you all that amazing food, I never saw anyone cooking so well. I should apologize to my mom for comparing her with your aunt, I mean servant. That really made so much sense now”

Tammy and Ryuu laughed. Raskar just shook his head in disbelief.

Then we heard a scream, a girl scream.

“What was that?” I asked quietly.

“I think it was the witch girl” said Ryuu.

“It came from there.” Tammy pointed the right side.

“No, it was from left side” said Raskar.

Ryuu showed left too. “I also heard it from left side”  

Tammy insisted. “I am sure it was right”

I was not sure where it came from, but it was strange that they also could not tell with their strong senses. “Maybe our senses are not really working here” They all looked at me with surprised eyes.

Tammy nodded. “That make sense. Just as my magic does not work, our senses are not working properly too.”

We stood still, realized that we were going to have more trouble than we expected.
