CHAPTER 4: JESSIE

"Good morning detective Louis, congratulations on your big catch"

" Thank you Falz" Louis replied,

" I guess you're getting a promotion" she said with a smile for the longest time she had known him, qshe knew he had been working towards a promotion.

" I don't think that's going to happen" he said trying not to get his hopes high

" Oh come on, you have managed to catch a well-hidden and organised killer that gave the criminal unit a hard time, you're definitely going to get a promotion" she tried to make her point clear.

" I hope it happens" he answered before taking a sit.

" What unit would you like to be promoted to?"

" I was hoping to be promoted to the special crimes unit as the chief" he said with a wink

" Wow that's a very high rank, I'm sure you're going to get it"

" Detective Louis!" Jack screamed running towards Louis

" And what's the issue again today Jack, Can't you allow Louis to have a day of peace?" Falz asked

" What did I do for you to be so mean this early?" Jack asked

" You two that's enough, Jack you have something to say?" Louis asked.

" Yes the chief wants to see you in his office right now" he informed

" I told you you're going to get a promotion, congratulation in advance" she said with a smile

" Thank you" he mouthed before going into the chief's office.

" Good morning chief, you called sir?" He greeted as he walked into the chiefs office,

" Yes, please have a sit" he said pointing to the chair right in front of his table

" Let me start by saying congratulations, you're one of the best detectives in this unit that we have ever had and I'm so happy that you came to work here with us"

" Thank you sir"

" Now with that aside, you would no longer be working here with us because you are being promoted to work in a special crimes unit Force in Cali starting next week" he said handing him over his letter

" Thank you sir"

" I know how long you've been wanting this promotion, once again congratulations and keep up the good work. we are going to miss you"

" And I'll miss working here as well" he said as stood and saluted before leaving.

He returned to his unit, falz and Jack were too curious o know what was going on " So! what happened?" Falz asked nervously, he raised his letter waving it in front of him.

" Congratulations, I told you you're going to definitely get a promotion, you are one of the special agents we have here and I'm sure they want to expand the bars in catching more criminal" she said happily

" Congratulation detective Louis" everyone on the team greeted him and passing him gift which they prepared before hand

" I'm sad that I'll be leaving you all but I have to serve our country" he said wiping the invisible tears from his eye in a dramatic manner

" Jack make sure you work hard, no more sleeping on the job got it"

" Yes sir" Jack said with a smile.

" And everyone, thank you so much for the hard work without your work this operation would have been a failure" he said giving them a mini heart before proceeding to clear up his desk after clearing up his desk.

Shawn was busy attending to his patients

" Hello Frank" Shawn greeted

" Good morning doc"

" Good morning, I can see you're getting better now that you're talking" Shawn spoke

" He doesn't talk for long before he feels discomfort and have trouble breathing" the boy's mother explained

" It's normal with these kind of surgery, he's going to be fine as soon as he's completely healed, for now you should get enough rest and limit your talking, it's going to help alot" he pointed out before going on to examine him patient.

" You're making alot of progress" he indicated

" Thank you so much doctor"

" Your son is the strong one, am just here to help."

Almost immediately his phone rang, he brought his phone from his pocket and the call indicated it was coming from Jessie's school.

He immediately excused himself before picking the call " Hello Mr Shawn, Jessie collapsed in school and is bleeding heavily, we've done everything to stop the bleeding but it's not working so we're taking her to the hospital" Shawn could feel his heart sink, he quickly handed over the files to a junior doctor who was standing next to him before rushing towards the entrance of the hospital, Jessie was being carried by her school teacher, she was already covered in blood, Shawn immediately picked her from the teacher, she was unconscious. He carried her and ran quickly towards the emergency unit, he laid her on the bed.

" Don't worry we'll take care of her, just go get her card" a female nurse spoke before attending to Jessie, Shawn was confused a bit as to how Jessie got injured, he turned to the teacher in rage

" How did this happen?" He asked, he always made it clear that Jesse shouldn't be injured or have any accidents that could lead her to bleed

" Am sorry Mr Shawn this was out of my carelessness" the teacher spoke crying, Sean was already having a hard time with his grandpa an hour Jessie was also going to be admitted, it was going to be twice the stress for him.

" It's not your fault am sure you had no idea that she was in that state" he tried reassuring the class teacher, although he was angry but he knew better than taking out his anger on her. He also knew Jessie as well she always make sure she try to handle her problems her self and that was what lead to this mess.
