~ Song For This Chapter ~ Tommee Profitt - When The Sun Goes Down. ~ We moved to the side of the room, Nicholas, Cason and Clara talked in hushed tones while I continued to stare at the witch. They were going over the plan and making a few changes as things didn't go down as they were suppose to. However the witch had been identified now they needed to capture him.  Though the chills were faded, my mind was still reeling and I couldn't shake the feeling I was being devoured by only moments ago. I felt a hand on my waist causing me to turn away from the witch and stare up into Nicholas's eyes.  "How do you feel?" He asked, his eyes studying my face.  "Fine." I murmured.  His eyes narrowed, not believing me for a second but he didn't press the matter further.  "We need to get closer enough to the witch so that he notices you and hopefully will connect to your mind. If that doesn't happen we will draw him out some other way but the most important thing is for us to draw him outside." Nicholas said in a hushed voice. "Can you do this Faye or do we need to change the plan?"  His red eyes stared into mine, scouring for any hint of trepidation. I was sure he found some, after the chills I wasn't strong enough to wash my mind of hesitation and gave up trying to put up a facade. I was also sure he saw that I wasn't going to back down. I could feel it in my soul, I needed to do it.  "I can."  "Let's go then." He took my arm in his and started weaving through the crowd.  "What about Clara and Cason?" I asked.  "They're circling around, when they see the witch make a move they'll follow us out."  I nodded my head, taking a deep breath. I never knew what 'jobs' my father went on but I had a feeling he was saving lives. I don't think he would've ever been bait, he was far too strong willed for that but I knew my father would've fought the evil in this world, so I'd do it too.  I could feel the chills attempting to crawl back up my arms as we approached the witch but as if Nicholas was my shield, the warmth of his arm around mine kept them from getting too monopolizing. I could tell Nicholas was tense, he showed a strong dislike towards witches from the start but the setting seemed to make it worse. However unlike me, Nicholas was a master at concealing what was in his mind, he could build an impenetrable facade within seconds.  "We're close enough to gain his attention." Nicholas stopped and turned to me. "Dance with me."  His lips turned up in a smirk, his eyes remaining hard as he stepped forward and placed his hand on my waist. The music playing was far slower than the earlier ones, giving off a more earnest and intimate air that made me more nervous.  Nicholas gently encouraged me along, guiding my body so we were in sync with each other. I kept my eyes down, glancing at the crowd every now and then, despite the eyes drilling into me.  "You know, you're not a bad dancer." Nicholas said.  "That's because you're guiding me." I mumbled.  He released my hand and grabbed my chin, forcing me to stare up into his eyes. "I was sure I already told you about staring at your partner."  "Sorry." I murmured. "You can release my chin now."  Nicholas smirked and let me go, his hand returning to mine. We continued dancing and this time I kept my eyes locked with his, trying my best to ignore the presence of evil. I studied his blood red orbs just as he studied mine. It was constantly a battle of who could figure out what was laying behind our eyes first, so far Nicholas was winning but I had a feeling it wouldn't always be that way.  We both had our secrets and Nicholas had made it his mission to figure mine out, even those I wasn't aware of.  Suddenly I was pulled into his chest. "He has taken notice." Nicholas whispered in my ear.  My body tensed as I felt the chills attempt to grab hold of me again. I could feel his eyes on me, boring into my soul in an attempt to turn my soul black. I winced as my head started to ache, my eyes shutting tightly as I bit into my lip.  "Faye?"  "He's trying to enter." I said. "But my mind.. I think its fighting back."  I fell against Nicholas, biting my lip until I could taste the metallic taste of blood. Nicholas kept my body up and kept us dancing, attempting to appear as normal as we could.  "Breath Fairy." He whispered. "Let him in."  "I'm trying." I bit out.  The pain was beginning to become excruciating, I stifled a scream and tried to breathe steadily. I had to do this, I had to let him in so they could capture him. This world had enough evil to last it a million lifetimes, I didn't want more to arise.  Slowly the ache began to fade, a drowsy feeling washed over me and I knew he was now in my mind. The mere thought made my skin crawl, what could he do in there? What could he find?  "Faye?"  I slowly pulled away from Nicholas, staring into his eyes. "He's in." I said.  His jaw twitched as he nodded, his eyes storming as if he was having an inwardly battle with himself. This was what he wanted but somehow he didn't look too pleased.  "It's time to let him take the reins." He said.  I nodded my head, licking the blood off my lip while we continued to dance. The air became suffocating, the walls seeming to close in, taunting me as it reminded me that there was no way out. I pushed myself away from Nicholas as I twirled, my dress flowing freely. At least something here was free.  My eyes locked with his green ones as I spun, a heavy feeling crashing down on me. Shivers racked through my body violently causing the air to leave my lungs and my body to shake. My legs tripped on one another as the weight threatened to pull me down, my body ungracefully slammed against Nicholas's chest even causing him to stumble back half a step.  His reactions were as expeditious as always, holding onto me tightly as he continued to guide me along the dance floor like nothing happened. I looked up, his eyes penetrating mine, only adding to the mass that was piling up on me.  "I don't like him." I seethed.  Nicholas cracked a half hearted smirk. "Welcome to the club."  The music began to slow down until it stopped along with everyone dancing. They all clapped and laughed happily, if only they knew. I could feel the witch still in my mind, waiting for the perfect moment to, quite literally, work his magic. As if he was reading my thoughts I could feel my body trying to move on its own as it was compelled.  The chills had begun to leave their icy shards over my skin again, raising goosebumps along my arms. I wanted to fight it but I knew I couldn't, so instead I took a deep breath and let the witch take control of me. Though my eyes were open I could feel myself starting to slip in and out of consciousness. In the weak state I was in I had barely any control over my mind or my body, this magic was far different from Claras.  My body began to be pulled towards the witch, Nicholas's arm was tightly hooked with mine as he was pulled along as well. My eyes were blurry unable to focus on anything or anyone yet I walked as if I was as conscious as everyone else in the room. The noises were fading in and out, the only thing I could focus on were the chills consuming my body and the ache in my head.  Through my burry eyes I could notice the scenery changed, there were no longer colourful shapes of people walking around but green blurs from bushes and trees. The witch had successfully brought us outside. I could hear talking but the words were incoherent to my ears, however I recognised the closest voice to be Nicholas's.  The blurriness gradually began to lessen, the sounds becoming comprehensible. The ache from my mind was gone and I could no longer feel the witch's intrusion.  "She'll be a little disoriented for a while." I heard him snicker. "She won't bear witness to your death."  "Unfortunately no ones dying tonight." Nicholas said, his voice harsh.  The witch chuckled, making my skin crawl. He didn't seem blindsided at all, he was calm and collected as if he had anticipated this all. I saw Nicholas's hand hovering over the gun in his holster but before he could grab it a rush of wind hit him. His guns went flying from the holster, smashing against a nearby wall.  "Whoops." The witch smirked wickedly, his eyes shining with turpitude.  I could feel the anger rolling off Nicholas in tempestuous waves and it only got more powerful when flames appeared in the hands of the witch. Clara and Cason were nowhere in sight despite Nicholas saying they'd be right behind us. Nicholas was strong but I wasn't sure how strong he would be against a witch without his guns. I had to do something.  I stared helplessly as the witch had an evil grin on his lips, flames dancing in the palms of his hands. The flames reminded me of a many times Nicholas and I sat in front of the fire soaking up the warmth and comfort, however these flames gave me neither. They enforced fear in my soul and had my heart beating erratically.  Something glinting against the light of the flames caught my attention, I turned to the side and saw a bucket. I glanced back at the witch, my body still felt weak but I couldn't just sit around and watch Nicholas get burnt to a crisp. I slowly got up and began walking towards the bucket as if it was calling out to me, as I got closer I realised there was something in the bucket, there was water. It almost looked as if it was sparkling as I reached down and dipped my hand in it, I felt my heart begin to calm at the feel of the liquid running through my fingers.  I stood up and stared at the wall and walkway in front of me. It opened up directly inline with where the witch stood and the wall gave me cover so I wouldn't be spotted. I grabbed the bucket, glancing back at the witch who was still too busy mocking Nicholas to notice me, before I started walking down the walkway until I reached the opening. I took a deep breath and peaked out at the witch, he was speaking to Nicholas but his words were incoherent to my ears, all I could hear was my steadily loud heartbeat.  I could see the witch moving his hands, he was preparing to attack. He raised his hand at Nicholas so I took that as my cue, I stepped out from behind the wall with a deep breath and threw the water on the witch. Not a single drop missed the witch and the fire in his hands extinguished immediately with the contact of the water. I stared at the witch who seemed overly soaked for the amount of water that was in the bucket, but I wasn't complaining.  He turned to me, his eyes wide and angry as they locked with mine. I gulped as he glanced back down at his hands, a bewildered expression covering his face.  "How did you do that?" He asked. "You.. You're-" His words were halted as Cason suddenly appeared in front of him and had him in magic proof restraints within seconds.  I stared at the witch as his greens eyes silently spoke to mine, I couldn't look away. Cason was speaking to the witch but his attention was solely on me. I felt someone's hands on my shoulders abruptly causing me to snap my head to the side to see Nicholas.  "That was dangerous Fairy." He said studying my expression.  "But it worked." I breathed out. The chills were still lingering on my skin, whispering sickly sweet words in my ears. Words I didn't understand or even want to. Nicholas seemed oblivious to the whispers, they weren't speaking to him. I stared into his eyes, my heart drumming against my ribcage at an unsteady beat. His expression was impassive, a flick of anger hiding behind those red orbs.  Then all of a sudden a vivacious laugh boomed around me, I furrowed my brows at Nicholas insane behaviour staring at him as though he grew three heads.  "My knight with pails of water."  I shook my head at him, staring in bewilderment until my lips curled up into a small smile unable to resist the compelling energy from Nicholas. His laughs came to a stop as he composed himself, Cason and Clara giving him a weird look, the witch too.  My body felt heavy despite the witch being now captured, something still felt off. There was nowhere to hide from the storm that was on its way, from the darkness that had begun to set in. This wasn't the end, it was far from it. It was still the beginning.
