Chapter Seven

Miah stared at the woman before her. She had practiced what she wanted to say when she got here. Why does it seem her words got stuck in her mind? "Madam, I ...I really don't understand this at all. I am sure you know who I am. You've probably dug some information about me. So why me ? I don't really get this." Mrs Grey placed a hand on her shoulder. "I haven't dug any information about you and I don't care. If Ronald and Aurora can be happy again, I will do anything to see that. So that's why I am doing this. I will send you back to think about this. You can send me your reply through his bodyguard. I await your thoughts on this." Mrs Grey got up and signaled to the maids at the door. She headed towards the door and left. Did she just leave her here? Things were happening too fast. She just hoped she was safe in all of these. "I left your wife in. You can show her around so she won't get bored or better still you two can leave for your mansion." Ronald stared at her. "Mum, you know that this is unacceptable. I can't accept this and I am sure she isn't either." "Ron, you don't get to speak for her. Besides, you brought Mirabel to me and despite my refusal, you still went ahead to get married to her and you had Aurora. As far as I'm concerned about this matter, I get to choose for you now and there is nothing you will do about it. Or should I tell Aurora that you are against getting along with Miah?" "Mum! Can you stop this already? I...." "There is nothing you can say to convince me. Aurora is happy and that's all I need to know. You can go ahead and dare me on this matter. I don't care if you're one of the billionaires in town, I will deal with you as my son. Trust me when I say that." She entered her car. "Mum, I should have a say in this matter at least." Mrs Grey heaved a sigh. Her gaze was on him now. "Ron, I want you to be happy and I know what I saw in that lady. I know that she will make a good wife to you and the best mother to Aurora. Stop thinking about yourself alone. It's time to get off that ladder of pain and regret. I know you because I am your mother." The engine roared and the car swerved out. Ronald pulled the door backwards and it opened. His gaze met with hers. Her eyes was wet with tears already. He rushed to her. "Are you okay? Did my mum said anything to hurt you?." Miah wiped her tears off. "No, I just want to go home. Just take me back." With no hesitation, Ronald nodded and led her to his car. All through the drive, Miah said nothing. Her eyes were glued to the streets out. She got into her room to see Aurora, lying on the bed...but her position was just wrong. "Aurora....Aurora..." Aurora stirred slowly. She blinked twice. "Mama...." "What's wrong, dear? Are you hungry? Did someone beat you? Did...." "Someone told me you left me. That you will leave me and dad. That I should stop pestering you against your will. That...." She coughed out loud, then she began to shiver. Miah scooped her up in her arms in a sudden. "Aurora.. Aurora! Don't do this to me, please. Ronald!" She screamed as she rushed downstairs. Timmy was the first to hear her scream. "Aurora? What happened with her?" Tears had filled her eyes already. "I don't know what's wrong with her? Please help me." "Be calm. Let me get Ronald and the keys." He said and ran in. "Aurora, I am sorry. Just be fine, okay." Few minutes after, they were in the hospital. Aurora was stabilized. Her breath could be seen in and out under the oxygen she was placed in. "Miah, Aurora would be fine. It's just one of her panic attacks." "One of her panic attacks? Ronald, this is clearly wrong. She...she is just 4!. Just a little child and this....Make it make sense to me!" She tapped her feet vigorously. She couldn't fathom why she felt so upset at what happened today. Aurora's silent cry of help hitched her heart deeper. Why was she feeling like this when she wasn't the one who birthed her? "See, she...." The doctor walked to them and they sprang up to their feet. "You can see her now but...Sir Ronald, I would say this is not an ordinary attack as it used to happen. I was so sure these attacks stopped after she began to spend some time with Miss Miah here. This is a triggered attack. Someone probably said something to her to make her brain reactions act that way." Miah nodded. "Yes, she told me someone said some things to her but...how? This is just...." "Just get her to rest well, use the medications I have prescribed for her and please, ensure this doesn't happen again. Be around her everytime if you have to because if this continues, she might be unable to use the left part of her body again." "What?!" Miah exclaimed. "I will be on my way now." The doctor said and walked away. "You were saying Aurora told you some things before she went unconscious, right?" "Yes, she said someone told her that...I would leave you both. Could there be someone planted in without your notice because I am so sure this would have been done by someone who knew what Aurora's condition was." "Aurora doesn't have any personal maids,"Timmy spoke for the first time he had come. "No one was permitted to come around her." "Tim, do me a favor. I need you to check those around Miah. Plant cameras every possible places that you can. I know there are but I need more. Check around mother too, she might be in danger as well." "I will get to work right away. See you at study. Miah, take care. Tell Aurora I was here."
