Chapter 10: Avery's POV
I stormed into the cafeteria, spotting Jasper laughing with his friends.
"Here comes the Lover girl," Logan sneered.
I gritted my teeth. "Jasper!"
He sauntered over, hands in pockets. "Babe, what's the problem?"
I held his lips as he tried to kiss me. "Don't you dare!"
Jasper's eyes flashed anger. "Mitchell, what gave you the right to do that?"
He grabbed my hand, twisting it.
"J...Jasper, please!" I cried.
He released me. "I'm sorry just that you weren't answering or texting me “ I said.
But I knew I shouldn't apologize. ' he should be sorry, not me.'
Jasper smirked. "I'll text you."
As he walked away, I realized Ethan was more handsome and kind.
I sought Ethan out, finding him with Sophie.
"Avery, meet Sophie. She's joining our school's baseball team," Ethan said.
"What? What about me?" I asked.
Ethan teased, "No...ewww."
I snapped, "What if I was joking? You're still in love with Sophie, aren't you?"
Ethan reassured, "Avery, don't talk like that. She said she's in love with someone else."
But I fumed. "You think I'm worthless, don't you?"
Ethan defended, "Avery, we can't remove Sophie. Captain James chose her. Why can't you see things with me, assuming you decided earlier and stop being over dramatic about Jasper it would have been better" I was already a bit mad over Avery childishness.
My anger boiled over. "Enjoy, fool!" I spat and stormed off.

Ethan Thompson's POV
Avery's outburst puzzled me.
Zoey approached, Dakota by her side.
"Running after your ex, don't you have shame?" Zoey taunted.
Sophie replied, "I asked Ethan for permission to join the basketball tournament."
Zoey sneered, "He chooses Sophie over his best friend."
I corrected, "I won't choose Sophie over Avery. She just didn't decide on time."
Zoey's face reddened.
"I didn't ask for explanations. It's pathetic how Avery behaves like a child."
Her jab at Avery infuriated me.
"At least Avery's better than you, sleeping around."
Zoey stormed off.
Sophie advised, "Ignore them."

Michael and Liam debated.
"Between Avery and Zoey, who's finer?" Michael asked.
"Zoey wears makeup," I said.
Liam countered, "Zoey's well-built and beautiful."
I clapped sarcastically. "When will you reason well?"

Jasper asked, "What do you want, Sophia?"
"I want you to break up with Avery."
Jasper grinned. "Tonight."
He revealed, "I have Avery's compromising pictures."
I smiled devilishly. "Blackmail her."
Jasper hugged me. "Tonight."
