Chapter 37: Give up to those you can't control

We decided to stay for another night in Forestia town. We stay in the same Inn as before and I sleep in the same room with Akane.
Even though Akane and I have separated beds. She still decided to stay beside me.
“Umm… Akane, we’re close friends, but this position is really hot.”
“Don’t be like that, don’t be selfish by prohibiting your softness.”
That’s a problem because I’m not a stuffed toy.
Seems like ever since that time she embraces me. She started to crave softness.
She then hugs my body and squeezes it.

Akane stood up and after recovering she attacks me and hugs me again while I’m inside the blanket.

A lightning screech was heard.
I cast my magic to paralyzed her body making her unable to move. I then pull her body back to her bed.

“I’m sorry, I just want to have asleep.”
This day is very tiring after all. I get to train all day.
I wanted a good night's sleep and tomorrow continue my learning in solidifying magic.
Because I wanted to become stronger.
The next day came.
Akane and I separated our ways again and go to our own business. Akane goes to the blacksmith and I go back in the grassy plain to train my magic solidifying.
I use status check-in myself to guild myself in using solidifying.
According to Gale, solidifying magic needs to have the exact amount of magic on it. Using status check and looking to my MP. I can calculate how many MP creating on one small wind blade can do.
Gale sits down under the tree and eats rice balls again.
He sure likes rice balls I think.
It’s not the time to get hungry.
I activated my wind magic and form a sword using it. I calculate the exact MP needed for it and succeeded.
Looks like numbers are trustworthy for collecting such data.
From a small wind blade, I now can make a medium one that resembles my previous sword.
Then after few more hours.
“I made it! It’s a sword. I made a wind sword and solidify it…”
I said and I started to jump in joy.
I was so happy.
I feel satisfied with my action.
I rarely this feeling before.
“... See that, Gale… I did it. This is the same level as your wind sword.”
“Well, I’m really surprised. Seems like you’re going to surpass me in no time. It makes me feel bad for myself, but genius is a genius. You are talented in using magic even you’re at such a young age.”
Gale stood up from his seat and then use his wind magic.
He created multiple daggers in the air and launch them into the sky.
“That’s the next one, you can also create or solidify magic in the air.”
“I see, that’s the next level.”
My stomach growl in hunger.
Gale looks at my stomach and gives me some rice balls.
I’m really embarrassed as a lady and I look down at the red apple-like face.
“Don’t worry about it, I knew let's have a break for a while. Bring these rice balls to your friend I bet she is hungry too. She is hungry in persuading that blacksmith.”
“Why?”
I asked in a puzzled expression.
“You will know when you get there.”
As Gale instructed I came to the hill where the house of the blacksmith is said to be located.
This is weird, most of the house in Forestia is located on the trees. This one house looks like an old rest house own by an old man.
As I arrived at the house.
I saw Akane shouting in the window.
“Hey! Let me go inside and check what’s happening?! What’s wrong with you?!”
Akane was blown away by wind powerful gust of wind coming inside the house.
Aken grabbed her sword and ready to swing it to the house.
“I will slice your house in half.”
“I’m busy don’t disturb me.”
“But you’re such lazing around. Yesterday, you made me wait outside until the night came. Then, I found out that you’re just playing video games on your console.”
“My time is my own.”
“You said you will make me my sword.”
“I’m still thinking of it.”
“What kind of blacksmith are you?! You’re so pathetic. I bet you don’t have friends because of your such a loser!”
After hearing those words Lucas came out from his house with a sword in his hand.
He looks so serious and looking at Akane with red eyes.
Being called out as a loser goes to his head.
“Then, if you defeated me in a sword duel I might reconsider making you a sword.”
“I see, you really don’t have a plan from the start. But this is fine with me. I’m a swordsman after all.”
The tension in the surrounding area is really starting to fire up.
I’m standing in this place for a long time now but they didn’t notice my presence yet.
Both of them put distance from each other and then make a sword stance.
They look so serious and grip their sword with all of their strength.
The wind blows and a leaf comes flying. At the exact moment, the leave landed on the ground.
Lucas and Akane charge in and swing their sword in full strength.
A powerful metallic sound of clashing metal was heard and one of the swords was destroyed.
Lucas's sword was destroyed by Akane’s red heavy sword. His sword was sliced in half and its sharp blade was struck to the ground.
“Seems like your all talk… You can’t even make a sword better than mine. Maybe, I’m really wasting my time here.”
Akane said.
She put her sword back to its sheath and turn away from Lucas.
She then finally notice my presence.
“Mayu? Are you here all this time?”
“I saw all of the happening. I’m here to give you these rice balls for lunch.”
“Thank you.”
Akane gets one of the rice balls and started eating.
Lucas started to stand up and said:
“This is unforgivable. I won’t let his slide my pride as a blacksmith is ruined.”
“Eh… I thought it’s ruined a long time ago. You’re not that passionate about creating a sword. You spend your time playing video games. I’m observing you yesterday and your action. It feels like you don’t have any motivation to make anything. If you wanted to become good for nothing. I recommend killing yourself instead. Your just a waste of space in this town.”
“Who do you think you are to say that?”
Lucas said and attack Akane with his wind magic.
Akane blocks it using her sword.
“I’m Akane the future strongest swordsman. Don’t forget, you don’t need to worry about me. I will leave and find another smith instead… I don’t have time to waste on people like you who can’t reach my expectation… Let’s go Mayu and leave that loser.”
I feel bad for Lucas, but he deserves those words.
If Akane didn’t say that who will say that to him.
After that I made Akane came along with me to the grassy plain to train with Gale.
Gale is also using a sword which means he can also teach Akane to elevate her swordsmanship.
Times passed and it’s been we’re saying in this town for many days now. I only have 3 days more before the expedition to world tree Island.
Sometimes Akane goes out from the town to find a blacksmith that meets her expectation, but still when the night falls she came back to the town.
She also trains with us.
“I did it! I made multiple swords in the air.”
“That’s great Mayu… Since you made it to this level then you can practice doing armament… Wind armament: Wind force!”
The wind then enveloped Gale's body. The wind takes the form of green armor.
It’s really cool, It’s those amazing power-ups I saw in anime. I want to do that too.
“That’s unfair only Mayu can do it.”
Akane said.
“Well, you can just wear armor instead.”
“That’s too heavy to carry.”
“Knowing this technique, Gale is really strong.”
I said and praised Gale.
Gale's eye’s started to become a bit sad.
“What’s the wrong Gale?”
“I’m not that strong… I’m a coward, I lost my status in the Grandellia kingdom and became this town guardian became I’m a coward.”
“You seem very brave to me.”
Akane said and sat down on the ground to listen to Gale’s story.
“I’m not brave I’m a coward… I run away and turn my back out of fear. Months ago I was ordered to tail price Alexander to his mission in capturing the crystal dungeon. I was confident in myself because I’m one of the S-rank Adventurers and considered as one of the most powerful magic-user in the kingdom. That confidence suddenly faded after I felt the presence of that demon. I run away like a rabbit without turning my eye’s behind me. I didn’t even saw the face of the demon. All I saw is the pile of a dead body in the entrance of the dungeon.”
Gale said.
Seems like many people were scared in Crystal dungeon. Maybe it’s the reason they decided to destroy it for good.
“That dungeon was destroyed now so nothing to worry about.”
“That’s not true. Even though the kingdom uses its most powerful weapon. That dungeon is still not destroyed. The way on entering the dungeon is the only thing destroyed during that time. Monster and demons inside that dungeon remain inside there.”
Then I started to have some realization.
If that’s true then Kuroe and Lumina are still beneath that dungeon wondering to go outside? I don’t have proof but there was a possibility for it to be true.
Retto was seen outside so I don’t really need to worry about him.
But Kuroe and Lumina might be in trouble.
“Is there a way to get there?”
I asked desperately.
“If you dig enough you might enter the crystal dungeon. But why Mayu wants to go inside the dungeon?”
“Friends… Maybe, my friend was still alive wondering inside that dungeon. I don’t have proof, but maybe they are still inside that dungeon. It’s been many months now since its destruction, but maybe they are alive. They need my help.”
Gale slap my face.
“That’s naive talk… That dungeon is one of the most dangerous dungeons. It’s been months now, the monster has already eaten them alive in that dungeon. Even the prince blessed with unique magic was killed instantly. Do you think a little girl like you can do anything?”
He is very serious looking in my eye’s
I still feeling bad if Kuroe and Lumina are still alive.
But he is right, I can’t be naive. If I die in this world what will happen to me?
I never thought about it because I was reincarnated here when I die in my real world.
That’s why I acted recklessly.
I need to take care of my life. Because this world is really dangerous.
