Freya POV
As I'm getting ready to tell the children's story, "Is that the vintage Glenavon Special Liqueur Whisky eighteen fifty-two scotch?" Richard opens his mouth pointing to the bottle in Logan's hand, while im getting irritated with him because he cant keep his mouth shut. "Uh, yeah. Craig gave it to me as a gift for being mates to Liz." he says and I seen a broad smile appear on his face at the mere mention of her. I'm so thrilled she found her a suitable mate when Richard speaks up again only to fuel my irritation with him further. "Craig, you just had to give away the best bottle of scotch in the house?!" When I growl out at my mate for being selfish. "What.? That bottle costed a pretty penny. I been saving it for a special occasion." He tells me when I all but yell back. "He is mates to Liz. That's a special occasion right there, Liz is a second daughter to me and she happens to be mated to our daughters mates beta. Now with that being said I need you to sit there and hush before I wring your neck and if you can't do that then you may go sit in the hall". I tell him when he raises his hands in the air and makes a zipping motion over his lips, locks it, and sticks the imaginary key in his nonexistent joggers pocket.
"Now where was we?" I ask when I look to see Logan and Craig with smirks on their faces at Richard's and my banter. "Ugh, uh, uh you just wait. It's coming with your mates as well". I tell them as I take another sip of my coffee. "Okay, well 'Long ago, the Moon Goddess created her children. Both Lycan and Werewolf alike. Unlike her Lycan children, who she created first to be the strongest and charged them with protecting her Werewolf children from the human hunters. Our mother, the Moon Goddess Selene, was more selective with us. Pairing our wolves with a suitable human host at birth.
In an attempt to stop the human slaughter of our kind, Selene paired a wolf with a young hunter who lay dying after a hunt, begging to live. She granted him life with a wolf, Fenrir. The hunter could not allow this abomination to live within him and rejected his wolf by finding a way to sperate the wolf from his body. He succeeded.
In doing so, he died as he released Fenrir into the world. Fenrir wreaked havoc across all worlds causing death and destruction to Lycan, Wolf, and Human alike. Devastation was everywhere. Extinction was inevitable.
Until one day a Lycan King named Zane from the Armani bloodline and a Werewolf Queen, named Myia from the Eyrwen bloodline joined forces to put an end to Fenrir's devastation.
A great battle ensued, losses to both bloodlines we're great. When all seemed lost and extinction was near, both Zane and Myia attacked Fenrir together carving out one eye and cutting off one front leg. Furious, Fenrir lashed back. Snapping his jaws making Zane and Myia jump back. Zane made it to a safe distance but Myia was caught by her leg and thrown hard against a bolder. Her leg broken, she could not move. Zane rushed to save her from Fenrir's final blow. Both were killed... Fenrir dropped to the ground from the loss of blood. The Moon Goddess appeared before him, saddened one of her children were forced into this unhinged state. Pittying Fenrir, she put a hand on his head and a glow so bright, it lit the night sky as the sun does the day. When the light dimmed, in her hand was a medallion.
Selene returned to her realm, awaiting her were Zane and Myia. They gave their lives saving their kind.Zane sacrificed himself protecting Myia. Selene recognized their sacrifices and chose to make them the eternal guardians of their kin when all was in jeopardy. When their protection would once again be called upon, they would be paired with their human hosts. As Zane sacrificed himself to try to save Miya, their souls became eternally one. But because a human host can only handle one wolf in its body, they would always be fated to each other.
Selene began to glow brighter than her own full moon. As the light subsided, she held another amulet in her hand. She gave Fenrir's Amulet to Zane for his bloodline to protect and she gave the other amulet, that stored the protection and healing powers of herself as a mother, to Myia for her bloodline to protect. For only a mother's love can tame the beast within'." I finish the story.
