CHAPTER THIRTY

Caroline POV

As Liz and I make it out the room, we make our way to the elevator and Liz pushed the button because I was not walking down three flights of stairs. Just as the elevator 'ding' signaled that it was on our floor the doors opened and we walked in. I walked to the side to grab onto the bar when the doors were just starting to close I hear "Hold the doors" and Liz pushes the open button on the panel and the doors opened back up just as Beta Logan came in with a brooding looking man. He was tall, maybe six feet if not more. He had a five o'clock shadow with brown hair in a man bun fade. His shoulders were broad and his muscles on his arms were tight against his black t-shirt. I trailed my eyes to his plump lips, past his nose to his eyes. They were green with a golden ring around his irises. They were beautiful but yet familiar, like I've seen them before. I found myself leaning into him when I hear Liz giggle out and it knocks me from a trance that I hadn't realized I was under.

I look at Liz and see she and Beta Logan are huddled close in the corner and I look to the man beside me that I found myself closer to. He is staring at me so intensely. I find myself looking at his eyes again and Myia speaks up. "Those eyes!" I couldn't help but to agree with her. They were familiarly beautiful. "Do you think he could be that golden wolf? You remember? The one we were playing with?" Myia asking question after question getting excited jumping around in my mind, tail wagging. I shook her from my thoughts and started sniffing him. It's that same musk scent, and something else. I can't quite put my finger on it. But, it's definitely him when I hear him clear his throat and I look up and see a smirk on his face. My Cheeks immediately flame up when I know he caught me sniffing him. Thank Godess the elevator 'ding' signaled and the doors opened. "Come on Liz " I say while still looking at that gorgeous man when we all walk out the elevator and Beta Logan speaks up.

"Oh babe, this is my Alpha. Alpha Ryker" he says when Liz stopped to look at him and gave him a hug and kiss on his cheek. I internally feel a pang of jealousy and I shake it off immediately because I have no idea where that came from, ignoring the pang of hurt in my heart. Her mate snatched her away from his Alpha, and shoved her to him rather roughly and I growled out at him. He put his hands up in surrender when Liz came to stand in front of me. "It's okay, he won't hurt me" She says to me reading my exact thoughts, when she turned back to that Alpha. Alpha Ryker. Mmm. "Thank you, for saving Caroline. She is my absolute best friend, and sister". She tells him sincerely while im shocked standing there. He is the one who saved me and brought me to the hospital. Did he see me naked?! "Of course he probably seen our lady bits" Myia says. I find myself folding my arms over my chest and I catch him looking at me but not the same way that vile Alpha Romero was. More like a protective look that pinched my heart. I clear my throat "Thank you, for saving me" I tell him when my stomach decided to make itself known and growl out really loud. "Well that couldn't be anymore embarrassing" Myia chuckles out. I just roll my eyes at her. "Come on Liz, let's stop at Darnell's. It's on the way to the house anyway" I say when Liz turns to her mate and his Alpha. "Join us for lunch?" She asked when her mate smiled really broadly and he looked to his Alpha and all he did was just shake his head."No thank you. We will be returning to your pack house to gather our things, we will be leaving tonight. I have to get back to my pack." He says when it clicked in my mind that he is planning to leave tonight, his Beta will have no choice but to follow and because Liz is his Beta's mate she will have to go too. I start to get sad at this when I listen to Myia's whines. No, I will have this night with my sister. I look to Liz and her face says it all. She will have no choice but to follow her mate. I can't read their faces because I don't know them, but I do know no one has ever defied them. That much is clearly written all over the brooding Alpha Ryker. Myia still whinning when I've had enough.

"NO" I say sternly almost growling out. When all three of them look at me when I square my shoulders and look directly at Alpha Ryker and pull on Myia's strength and say "No, I only just woken up no more than an hour ago and I will have tonight and tomorrow with my sister." I say fervently. Leaving no room for argument. Alpha Ryker turns his head away from me and I look to his Beta and see a smirk on his face when I grab Liz's hand and pull her with me to start walking to Darnell's. How dare he think he can take her away from me just after I woke up. I don't think so. I will have time with her before he whisks her away from me. I don't even know what pack he is from. How far will she be from me? Gah! Alpha's and there big heads! Myia puffing out her chest strutting in my head.
