CHAPTER THREE. 'Chy, serve God. Don't forget him. Never join any bad gang.' Once prayers were said, Chioma's father gave her advice. 'Nne, you know it's a boarding school and you will be far from us. Keep doing a good job representing me. Her mother urged her. 'Thank you so much, mum and dad. I won't disspoint you.' Chioma gave them her word. We shall miss you, sister. Ogechi and kosi said simultaneously. "Aww, I too will miss you guys." Squeezing them, Chioma said. It will soon be 8:00. Come with me, Chioma. Her father stated. Along with some supplies for Chioma, they parked their bags. Chioma gave her mother a hug as she struggled mightily to hold back her tears. Then her mother addressed her, saying: Please keep shining, Chy. About noon, they arrived at Okoedu's excellent girls college. The principal's office was pointed out to them. They filled out the registration form and gave all the information requested. Chioma was taken to the dormitory by a senior student, who was dispatched by the principal after registration. Chioma received assistance from the student in carrying some weights. Chioma strolled by the ogbanje girls on her way. In addition to the girls experiencing an unexplained feeling, she saw a cloud of darkness circling them. Chioma continued to stare at that moment, and Daniella did the same until Precious—the girl who went by Chioma—was in her direct line of sight. 'Chioma! Chioma! Chioma!' Precious had called her. 'Aah! I'm sorry. I was absorbed in my thoughts. I shall long for my house. To a bewildered Precious, Chioma said. "I get it, sweetheart. Make an effort to notify the school administration if you see anything that does not seem right. Says Precious to her. After they had finished setting up a few things, she asked precious: Something, such as what? "There are many bad people here at this boarding school." Please try to report them if you are able to find them. With a pat, she asked, and Chioma nodded. Good. Do not be an island; make new friends. Please do not hesitate to contact me in any way. stated Precious. "Many thanks for that.". You are very welcome. We shall meet again later. After saying so, Precious walked away. Pulling out her bible, Chioma began to study it. She was approached by two of the ogbanje girls. That wicked spirit and its approach were still palpable to her. She muttered the blood of Jesus in her heart. "Seniors, good afternoon." She gave a greeting. 'I take it you are new to this school? Without answering her greeting, Daniella asked. Indeed, dear leader. Apathetically, Chioma answered. 'Look up right now. Are you insane? Inquired Bose. I apologize. It was Chioma who apologized. "I am sorry for you." Bose responded. "I observed your gaze as you passed, directed towards my friends and me." I would like to advise you to remain silent, or else you will perish. After Daniella finished speaking, they left. Although the other students were unable to hear them, they were curious about the crime that the new student who had just arrived had done. Chioma went to her bible and prayed asking God to lead her. She had classes the following day. In her class, she did well. She had a lot to cover because she started school at the third week. During break period, some of the students came asking for friendship but she remembered that her mentor once told her that 'Friendship affects destiny' so, she chose wisely. One of her friends was Kosi, she was the closest to Chioma. She helped Chioma to write some of her notes. 'Are they Ogbanje girls in this school?' Chioma asked Kosi one day while they were studying. 'Why the question?' Kosi asked surprisingly. 'Please Kosi, answer me.' Chioma pleaded. 'Yes, they are. We don't know them but they torment us.' Kosi said and they was a long silence for a while before she asked again. 'Do you suspect anyone?'. 'Chioma sat aghast, wondering what to say. She made up her mind to tell her. Then, Fatima passed by. Chioma changed the topic of their discussion. She was moody throughout the day. Kosi noticed that and asked her: 'What is it, chy?'. 'Nothing.' Chioma replied sharply. 'Nothing? Every time you'll be replying nothing. Do you want to die in silence? Kosi asked and Chioma kept mute. 'Please chy, report any bad thing you notice.' Kosi said. 'I've heard you. Thanks for your concern.' Chioma had said.
