"Who else?" She must be present at our gathering tonight. Daniella commented.

"All hail, daughters of darkness!" She spoke quietly to avoid suspicion from the other students, and they replied:

'We are forever one'. The girls joined together in chorus.

Debby went straight to Mmasi, who was chatting excitedly with her friends.

"Good evening, girls." Debby offered a greeting.

'Good evening, Debby. A few of the girls responded.

'Hmm, this one you are here. Hope we are safe. Several of the other girls laughed when Mmasi asked, rolling her eyes in a way that made Debby a little uncomfortable.

"Ah, indeed!" You are safe. So what are you girls discussing about? Debby asked.

'Nothing. Just discussing about you and those your new friends. We are already suspecting that you girls are the…

Mmasi said and stops

'Are the what? Debby asked trying hard to control her anger. Mmasi could see that she was getting annoyed.

'I'm sorry, it was a slip of the tongue'. Mmasi pleaded.

'Better'. Debby replied.

'So, do you mind if I buy you something, please don't say know'. Mmasi pleaded.

'Work made easier'. Debby thought.

'I don't mind, let's go'. Debby announced.

When they got to the school canteen, Mmasi got Debby some minerals and cupcakes. She claimed she did not want to take anything, but Debby insisted that she do.

Sharing demonstrates love. Debby remarked while distributing some of her purchased cupcakes to Mmasi. Debby was beaming internally, but she had already enchanted the cupcakes with her gaze and fooled Mmasi into thinking it was nothing.

Before the break period's time ran out, they ate and spoke. They bid each other farewell.

Indeed, I succeeded! Looking forward to seeing her tonight. Debby exclaimed while bouncing up.

The meeting started at 11:45, and the girls assembled at their designated location. Under the cashew tree, they were all gathered.

It is an hour when nobody dares to go outside. Since their bodies will be on the bed and their spirits will be moving, even their roommates will not be able to tell that they are outside.

Those ungodly hours were when the birds sang a variety of songs. Songs that are supposed to be uplifting and melodic instead make the students dread the evening.

'Where am I?' Mmasi asked no one in particular.

Everyone kept mute and then, Danurkka shouted:

'All hail, daughters of darkness!'.

'We are one! The girls chorused.

'Mmasi, you're welcome to this great gathering.' Daniella said facing Mmasi.

'God forbid! I plead the blood of Jesus!' Mmasi shouted.

'Don't try that here.' Bose commanded.

'You have to swear to join thus great coven or you will die. Will you swear or not?' Daniella asked her smiling.

'Ohh God!, come to my aid.' Mmasi prayed loudly. Bose gave her a slap and said:

'Common answer her and stop calling that names.'

'I will join.' Mmasi said shivering.

They forced her to swear to be law abiding. Mmasi almost ran mad when they told her that, she will die the day she betrayed them.

They also discussed about the coming of the prophet and their plans to disgrace him.

Preparations was made for the coming of prophet Dennis. He had previously asked for money, adamant that he would use it to purchase items like candles and olive oil, among other things. They gave him the money, of course.

Prophet Dennis, arrived the prophet arrived the school around 9:00 am. He insisted that the prayers would be in the midnight, by 11:00pm.

He started the prayers by that time. He was 'kabashing'. He brought out some bottles of olive oil, candles and was praying with it. He also slaughtered two pigeons. The teachers and some students were amazed but they cooperated with him. They prayed that, that will be end of the ogbanje girls in the school.

He started to tremble and lost focus at 11:59. Everyone became aware of it.

He was rolling on the ground in no time. Everything darkened, and everyone scrambled to safety. Despite hearing him scream, nobody emerged. They were unaware of his whereabouts, but the next day they were unable to locate him.
