CHAPTER FIVE. While Chioma was praying her midnight prayers. She saw someone that was rushed to the hospital. The vision was so shot that she couldn't recognize the person that was rushed to the hospital. She prayed for everyone's safety and beseeched God for his protection. The ogbanje girls gathered at their place of meeting, Daniella was very mad at Kosi. 'Kosi, where is she?' Daniella had asked. 'I'm sorry. Perhaps, she didn't take the chocolates.' Kosi replied. 'That girl is too sensitive in the spirit.' Helen added. 'I know what to do. I think I'll handle that girl myself.' Daniella said. They decided not to cause havoc that night and they all left to their hostels. The students slept peacefully and they were all beaming with smiles the next day. One sunny afternoon, while Mr. Johnson the physics teacher was teaching a class. He slumped and the students were screaming for help. Mr. Johnson was in a very critical state. The medications given to him couldn't help. The school wasn't ready to lose him. Chioma had a friend turned sister called Cynthia. They were so close that Chioma told her everything she knew about the Ogbanje girls in the school. Cynthia had promised to keep it confidential and she assisted Chioma in prayers. They always prayed together. Then, Chioma decided that they visit and pray for Mr. Johnson, at the hospital. Cynthia accepted that, and they left. They reached the school hospital but, they weren't allowed to go in. They begged the nurse but the nurse refused. The nurse told them that he was in a very critical state. They could see him almost giving up, when they looked through the glassy door. Mr Johnson was telling the nurses that his late brother and dad were urging him to cross over. The nurses were running helterskelter. Chioma was filled with anger. She held Cynthia tight and pushed the nurse. She then barged into the room and they started praying. She was blasting in tongues. FIRE! They prayed for a long time, then the man became quiet. He just kicked the bucket. The two girls walked out of the hospital to the dormitory in silence. The nurses covered him with a cloth. 'God why?Why would this happen? Please Lord, show that you are a God and not a man. Show that you are God and not a man. Show that you're the one who sent me.' Chioma said and prayed together with Cynthia. They didn't mind the people staring at them. They were still praying when they heard shouts emerging from the hospital. They wondered what it was and they quickly concluded their prayers and went outside. Lo and behold, they saw that Mr. Johnson was walking out of hospital. It was a surprise to everyone. Someone that was confirmed dead hours ago. Isn't God wonderful? God was wonderful. 'Chioma and Cynthia' was on the lips of everyone. The principal was amazed and called the girls to his office. 'How're you doing?' The principal asked. 'We are doing great, sir.' They chorused. 'Thank you so much for your prayers.' The principal said and then, asked: 'Do you guys know anything about the Ogbanje girls, terrorizing this school? Chioma stared at Cynthia and Cynthia urged her to go on and speak. 'No, Sir. Please we will love to leave, Sir.' Chioma replied. 'It is well. You people can leave but, endeavor to report anything bad you notice.' 'Okay sir, we will.' Cynthia said and they left. 'Chommy, why didn't you open up to him?' Cynthia asked on their way to the dormitory, calling her the pet name she loved to call her. 'How can I? I don't have any good evidence.' Chioma replied.'You're very right, we really need to be prayerful.' Cynthia said. 'Very true. Without prayer, we will be put to shame. But, God forbid. At 12 am, the ogbanje girls appeared behind the Cashew tree for their meeting. 'I think I should travel to Akpojor to meet my mother, the queen mother. She need to help me in eliminating Chioma and Cynthia'. Daniella had said. 'I have a plan, Ella.' Ruka said. They gathered together and she whispered something to them and they all smiled devilishly.
