-Mary’s POV-
As I touched Aiden’s hand there was a sharp pain in my heart. The feelings that flew thru me were so overwhelming that I started to shake. Aiden put his hands on my shoulders and held me up. My knees got weak and I fell into his chest. I closed my eyes and just took a deep breath, I never noticed that he smelt like the forest just after a thunder storm. It was a sent that calmed me immediately. I got my footing and stood up straight. “Are you alright, little wolf?”
“What just happened?” I was weak ad my voice was small.
“I don’t think explaining that right now is going to help.”
I could feel something else now. It was emotions, but they weren’t mine. I looked up into Aiden’s eyes. They were HIS emotions. I could feel caring and the need to protect. There was another emotion that I felt, but I could not understand it. It felt almost like I remember feeling when I was little and with my parents. It was a strange feeling, but I was not opposed to it. “Please?”
I could feel him take a deep breath. “If it means that much to you, I can explain, but later. Right now, I need to take care of Mark.”
I pulled away from him and looked into his eyes. “You caught him?”
“Yes, he is being held in the dungeon.”
I took another deep breath and smiled. “Are you going to kill him?”
The look of surprise filled his face. “Why would you ask that?”
I looked to the floor to try and avoid his eyes. When I looked into them, I always feel like I want to be in his arms. “He hurt me a lot.”
The look in Aiden’s eyes turned angry as if the thought of me being hurt was the worst thing ever. “You’d you like to join me?”
I blinked a few times. The thought of being in the same room as him scared me. I knew that I would need to face him eventually. At least this way I would have Aiden by my side so that I would be safe. “Yes, please.” I look up into his eyes and I could not help but smile. He took my hand and we walked out of the room and toward the basement.
-Mark’s POV-
Sitting in this basement chained to a chair all I could think about was how to get out. As the Alpha of my pack, I should not be someone’s prisoner. I should be treated with respect. Instead, I am in chains and guarded like a criminal. I let out a low growl. The door opened and two people walked in. “What is that w***e doing here?”
The man with her stiffens and snarls at me. “You will speak to ALL members of this pack with respect.”
“Member? Since when? She is nothing to anyone.” That thing had been living in my pack house since she was a child. When she was able, I turned her into a toy.
“Do you know how I am?”
I rolled my eyes. “You are the Alpha of this pack.”
“That’s right. And I am here for answers. You WILL give them to me.”
I looked from him to her and back again. “Why is she here then?” I hated her. I knew her name was Mary, but I didn’t care. To me she was just the thing that my parents decided to keep like I needed someone else in the house. I was older than her by almost four years and it was more like she was there to bother me. The only thing I could do when I became alpha was turn her into a toy for my men to play with. “Ask your questions and I may answer them.”
He stepped closer to me until he was right in front of me. “How many women have you sold over your time as the alpha?”
I chucked at his question. Did he really think that I kept those kinds of records in my mind? “How many do you think? I mean to be asking me that question, you must have some idea.”
She huffed from her position by the door. “Aiden, he is playing games.”
Aiden looked back at her for a moment then back to me. “We have enough from the raid to pass judgment right now. It would help if you told me where you kept the records of the girls you have sold.”
“If the packhouse still stands and the pack hasn’t guarded itself even more, than you have all you need.” With me not there, my men would have strengthen the defenses and protected the house.
Aiden chuckled. “You really think I pulled all my men out of your territory?” my eyes widened. “You must know by now that you are not leaving here alive. I have my best men sorting out things in your pack.”
“You are going to kill him?”
“Yes, little wolf. Is there a reason that I shouldn’t?” Aiden turned to her and c****d his head. “Speak your mind. There is nothing he can do now.”
“H… how will you do it?” I could since something new about her. She was different, stronger. She got her wolf and I could feel it.
“Normally, I rip the heart straight from the chest. It’s fast and painful.”
I could see her eyes fill with questions. “And you are going to do that now?” Aiden nodded. She leaned in and whispered something to him that I could not hear. Aiden chuckled and stepped aside.
“And what is this?” I did not know what was going on, but I was curious.
Aiden smiled at me with a grin that could only be described as dark. “Just a fitting end to a life of evil.”
-Mary’s POV-
There were any times over the years that I felt anger, may times that I felt like hurting others, but it was much stronger. Could it have been because of the wolf? Maybe, but I couldn’t be sure. I has asked Aiden if I could be the one to end Mark’s life and he approved. It might be just what I needed to get out of the fear that held me back from truly living.
I walked up to Mark. “And what are you going to do? You are a little girl.”
I looked back at Aiden, he nodded. I turned to Mark and smiled. “You caused me nothing but pain for as long as I could remember.” I smiled at him as a low growl escaped my lips.
“You won’t do it.” I knew that Mark was trying to get into my head, but I was not going to allow it. “You are too weak to…” before he could finish his insult, my wolf took over and I thrusted my hand into his chest and ripped out his heart. It was still beating in my hand. He sputtered for a moment and then lowered his head and took his last breath.
