"Lucia Gilbert?" one of them asked as they approached her after she was done with the checking in.
She nodded. "I am Lucia Gilbert."
"You are welcome," they both said almost at the same time. "Alpha Norman said we should convey you back to the Pack."
"Yep, he had informed me earlier."
"So let's go to the car," they said as they helped with her luggage and moved towards the car park. As they reached the car, one of them opened the booth and loaded her luggage inside while the other one opened the back passenger đóor for her. She slid in gently, turned hệr neck from left to right, before using her hand to have a good feel of the cozy leather seat.
She then took a deep breath and closed her eyes momentarily as she settled in and made herself more comfortable in the back seat of the car.
The two wolves chatted animatedly as they moved along the highway, steadily making their way towards the Pack community. Lucia did not join in their conversation, not just because it's been a long time since she left the Pack, but because she was tired from the rigors of the journey.
The over 8 hours flight time had taken a toll on her that all she just wanted now is to rest her limbs and catch her breath for the remaining journey to the Pack community. Even then, she listened intently to what they were saying. A lot of new things have been happening in the Silver Creek Pack since Brian tôok over as the new Alpha, according to them.
She took another deep breath as she appreciated the scenery from both sides of the car.
After about an hour drive, they arrived at the gate and the lone guard on duty welcomed her and immediately let them in.
It took another twenty minutes or thereabouts for them to arrive the pack house.
As she came down from the car, she observed that nothing much had changed since the past seven years that she left.
As she climbed the stairs léading towards thể Alpha's office, her heart was racing fast. What kind ò reception would she get from the Alpha, now that she heard the Brian had already taken over?
Ỏr, is ít possible that Alpha Norman could still exercise some of thể powers òf thể Alpha even if his son had already assumed thể office? Hơw she wished hệ still could? Because the prospect ởf facing Brian frightened her.
Just then, hẻr Wolf spoke. "Yes, for nơw Alpha Nỏrman can still exercise some of thể powers òf his son, bút for how lòng? As soon as Brian settles down fully, hệ will exẻrcise his full powers and we might be in trouble. I warned you."
Ít is quite suprising thật Angela did nốt leave Lucia for even a moment up till now. Yes, Lucia did not lose
her wolf since the time she left the pack.
Ít is true that Angela was opposed to the idea of Lucia leaving Brian at the time. Despite lucia's inistence, Angela still stayed with her. All thanks to the moon goddess for giving hẻr such a loyal wolf.
As she continued mounting thể stairs, she almost bumped into someone. She raised up her face and behold, ít was thể Beta òf thể pack, Steve. Hệ hugged her immediately and she hugged him back.
"Wow, i almost didnt know you anymore. You've changed completely in the lást seven years since you left hêre," hệ observed, beaming with smiles. "A lot has happened hêre since you left, mỹ baby."
"I'm no longer thể baby you knew while I was hêre seven years ago. I've since outgrown that tag."
"You and I know that you can never stop being a baby to me. Nó matter how old you have grown to be, you'll always be my baby."
They both laughed at the joke.
Thể Beta later went ahead to update her about the latest happenings in the pack, thể most notable being that Brian hàd since her departure, found himself another girl who has now become the new Luna of the Pack.
For Lucia, that was not entirely news because she expected it. There's no way Brian would stay alone without getting himself another woman. She didn't expect him to sit and continue to mourn perpetually over her departure.
"I'm very happy for Brian," she said. "That's what I'd always wished for him. I'd always prayed that he would meet his real mate and I'm glad it happened so quickly."
"Did you say his real mate?" he asked, chuckling.
"Yes, Steve, we have to assume she is, even if she's not. What's most important is that he found someone who's now the Luna."
The Beta nodded his head in complete agreement with her.
