Due to the woman's arrival, my brother didn't continue his attempt to take me upstairs to my room to resume what was interrupted in the car. I went up to my room alone and left them downstairs with his visitor to have their conversation. I thought the woman would leave soon, but when I went back downstairs, I saw her still talking to my brother in the living area, and they seemed to be having a pleasant conversation as she laughed while my brother smiled.
