CHAPTER 23
My face fell as I arrived at the university parking area and instead of Brother Vince's car, it was Mr. Mero's vehicle that greeted me.
"Where's Brother? I thought he was supposed to pick me up today?" I frowned, questioning Mr. Mero as I got into the car.
"I don't know, dear; your brother just told me to pick you up because he's still busy and might not make it home until late," Mr. Mero replied.
My forehead creased even more. "What?! He won't be home until late? But what about his promise to me?!"
Mr. Mero seemed taken aback by my raised voice. "I-I don't know, dear. What did your brother promise you?"
"He said he would take me coconut climbing today. He told me last night, and he can't just back out because he promised me!"
Mr. Mero sighed and started the car to leave
