“Whenever someone becomes too cautious and over protective with his or her, he does not only protects himself from enemies, he creates many more”.
Mr. George surely had something hidden under his sleeve which was unknown to both Jane, Aaron and his wife. Yes, it was confidential, it was bringing in enough money to the family but it also scared his wife. Mr. George never for once trust his colleagues at his work place. He had extreme trust issues and would definitely be the last person to believe one at the first instance.
This practice kept him alive in this risky business unknown to everybody. Safe until…
7:55pm, Saturday night, along Beliom Bridge, the Elzar family seem to have run out of luck. Mr George took out the whole family. It was the holiday period for the kids and he wanted to encourage them for their performances.
“zzzzsssssssssszsszs”, everything was white to her eyes for over 10 seconds till she was able to see things clearly. “where am I?” Jane asked as she held her head out of severe pain. This she did ignorant of where she was or who lay beside her.
The young girl now 11 years old was unaware that her parents were dead and her brother in a condition so critical that his survival rate was below 5%. She was quickly told to lay back on her bed by a nurse who saw her. Miraculously, Jane was the only one who survived the attack with minimal injuries.
It was a fatal accident ( which was carefully calculated and executed by the men who were hired to kill Mr. George. Mr. George had just been recently promoted in his workplace and was excited about it. This was one of the factors that led to the motive that Saturday evening. This deviation from his normal lifestyle caused him his life.
Mrs. George was also unable to survive this too while Aaron was on the verge of death. Jane kept on crying as much as she could when she fully regained conciousness and was aware of the events that transpired. It hurt her the most because she was not able to remember in person exactly what happened on the night but had flashes of it in her dreams at intervals.
This was definitely not good news for Jane. The company took their house, her dad’s banks were all confiscated and everything which concerns finances was put out of Jane’s reach. She was left alone to survive in a world unknown to her as she had extra prevention from worldly exposure from childhood. There was no other option than to take her to the Orphanage home with hopes that one of her relatives would hear of the tragic news and come for her.
This actually never happened. Not because she was adorable or looking innocent, it was because she hardly knew any of her dad’s siblings talk more of her mum’s siblings. It was at this point that she realized that she was all alone in this world. ( Not out of choice, rather out of the conditions her dad kept her in.)
She spent 3 years in the orphanage before she was adopted by a family living in Kansten. Kansten was a town with less qualities in descriptions when compared to Virginya but also had a relatively large population.
Meanwhile, those living around the Elzar’s compound were kept in the shadows with regards to their death, but this was not enough to stare off rumours. People had seen men in uniform move in and out of the house, some even forgot the last time they had little memory of the Elzar family car. While some said that they had probably travelled out of the country, some were not fully ignorant of the real fact. The vague story became clearer and clearer.
Jane did not stay for long with the Kanstens. She did not like it there. Days ran into weeks, weeks into months and months into years. The innocent 11 year-old girl who could not hurt a fly had become one who was overly exposed to the dirty aspects of life and was the complete opposite of what her mum wanted her to be.
Before she turned 20, she had already lived with four different families. The Kanstens, the Mikaelsons, the Wallace family and lastly the family which accepted her more than the others ( The Casan family ). Of course, Jane was exceptionally beautiful so getting adopted again and again was easy for her. She just could not endure living with the first three families. It was different for her at the Casans. Mr and Mrs Lewis Casan had one son who was not living with them. He was out in Spain for academic reasons. They just wanted someone to constantly keep up with and Jane was the cute individual for it.
Jane was unresponsive at first but she ended up blending in so well with them. Though she has already been traumatised by her past experiences, she had hoped that somehow, this would be her end point, the place that salvages her, but it did not turn out the way she expected it to. It turned out that their son had was done with school for the summer and had to come back for a while before heading back to finish his education. This did not end well for Jane. At first, Mr and Mrs Casan’s son was cool and perfectly unattached to Jane. This did not last for long as in less than 3 weeks of his stay, he had already attempted to seduce Jane twice. Prior to that, Jane was actually getting to like the guy, not until he approached her in that manner. Bottom line was that Jane became uncomfortable at the house due to fear of getting in trouble with her very kind foster parents over complications with their son.
