Chapter 16

Next day Daniel was very edgy. Everyone was walking on thin ice around him. Even a slightest of the things were triggering him off.

Others were no better than him. They just wanted that day to pass on soon so that they take a sigh of relief.  Somehow, it was 4:45 exact when the guard wolves informed about the arrival of Lobos and Hatis.

Daniel ordered to let them wait at the border for 10 minutes and escort them to his office by 4:55 pm. They were before time.

When clock struck 5 Daniel prepared himself for what was to come in next 1 hour. He kissed Serena luck and caressed Ariana's face as that was what she allowed him to do recently. But, as soon as he touched her cheeks she leaned down on his hand as if comforting him that she will be ok.

By the time Daniel and his troop reached his office Lobos and Hatis were already waiting for him. He purposefully delayed and made them wait.

When he came they were talking through mind-link amongst themselves. 

After taking his seat Daniel said,

"As you know I am a very busy person, I hope we finish it as soon as possible."

Val smirked,

'Really Daniel, you are sooooo busy person that you have dumped all your works on me and Ellie while you spend all your waking moments, i.e. 24 hours with your mates..tsk tsk.. Very bad.' Val spoke in Daniel's mind.

Daniel couldn't rebuke him so just glared at him. Then shifted his focus back to the creatures in front of him. They were signalling each other to say something. Finally, Charles cleared his throat and said,

"Thank you Alpha Brown for all you have done for one of ours. We are very grateful to you for it. Thank you for allowing us to visit today. You see Ariana is like a daughter to me. She is daughter of my best friend as well as I raised her since she was 3. Thank you for looking after her. I will....."

"Mr. Lobo please get to the point. We will hear this emotional s********e other day. If you dont mind." Val interrupted Charles in mid of his monologue.

"Ohh yes, Sorry for dragging. Well we would like to meet Ariana and take Elder Drew and Ariana back with us." Charles said.

"No." Daniel replied.

"Sorry Alpha Brown I didnt get it." Alex said worriedly.

"I said no you cant meet her and no you cant take them back."

"Excuse me Alpha Brown, but we are here to meet Ariana, after all she is my fiancee and you cant stop me from taking her back too." Remo was angry with Daniel's attitude.

"This is my territory and its me who is the decision maker here. Either you follow my rules or get out of here." Daniel said calmly but his eyes showed fire.

They all could feel his aura. His wolf was furious on being challenged in his territory by the assaulter of his mate. He dared to call her his fiancee in front of him.

'Calm down Dom. We dont want to give ourselves away yet. Not until Ariana recovers. Let Daniel deal with these baśtàrds.'

Dom controlled himself and gave Daniel back.

"I am so sorry Alpha Brown my son didnt intend on challenging you. Its just he is worried for his fiancee so he was out of line. I am so sorry."

John Hati said.

"Hmmm..I will let you see Ariana from far but you are not allowed anyway near her. She dont like to meet anyone other than my mate and me. So, we are the only ones who are allowed around her. If any of you try to go against me I will not spare him." Daniel glared at each one of them.

Fact was he didnt want anyone of them in this world itself. But he was just controlling himself. Dom was not helping him one ounce in the restrain.

All four spoke through their link and then finally nodded.

"Ok. We agree. We will discuss about taking her back later. Right now we just want to see her." Charles said.

Daniel informed Ellie to be prepared and inform Serena as well.

After that he led the way to his flat. When they reached in front of his room where Ariana was residing right now Daniel stopped.

"You all can see Ariana from here itself. You must not go inside the room." Daniel said. He knocked on the door signalling Serena to open the door.

As soon as door opened, there was a sound of tearing of clothes and before anyone could react or understand, a black werewolf jumped in the room. Stopping just in front of Ariana. The werewolf shifted back to Remo. It all happened so suddenly that by the time Val and Daniel rushed inside the room alongwith their guards werewolves Ariana had seen Remo.

Soon the guards captured Remo and others and pulled them out. But, it was late already. Ariana started crying and screaming.

"Nooooo.. dont touch me.. nooo.. nooo.. nooo.. dont touch me.." Was all she repeated again and again. When Serena tried to hold her, she started thrashing violently, trying to free herself from her grips.

With a violent and forceful push she freed herself. Ariana's eyes flashed black and then she fainted. Doctor checked her pulses. Her pulse rate was too high so were her blood pressure. After doing few more checks Doctor said,

"We all know that after the trauma Ariana had locked away her wolf. Now when she came face to face with her tormentor her wolf forcefully broke away. Ariana's body couldn't bear this force so she fainted. If my guess is not wrong then Ariana will wake up with all her memories and senses back."

Although Daniel heard whatever Doctor said but still he was shaking with anger. He couldn't believe it happened. Outcome of this could have been worst to. He was angry on himself for not thinking about this possibility. He just wanted to kill them all. He understood, it was their plan all along. He fell for it.

On the other hand, Serena too was mentally beating herself for she was the one to convince Daniel for this. She couldn't even meet his eyes due to guilt. She was so scared that she didn't notice tears flowing out of her eyes.

"How much time will it take for her to wake up?" Val asked.

"I am cant say exactly when. But it will mostly depend upon Ariana. As soon as she accepts her wolf back, she will wake up." Doctor replied.

Val nodded and exited the room to deal with those villains. He noticed Elder Drew was missing.

Following his scent he found him with Lobos and Hatis. He was punching Remo while other three were held by guards. Remo's face was already bloodied. But, Val was not satisfied. He stopped Elder Drew and took his place. Now Val was the one who was throwing punches and kicks on Remo. Soon, his whole body was covered in blood.

"ENOUGH..." roared Daniel in his Alpha voice. Val stopped immediately. Dom was jumping to kill Remo himself but somehow Daniel had him restrained. He knew Remo was just a puppet in this case. Mastermind was someone else. He would have killed them then itself but for now his priority was Ariana. He didn't want to waste his time on these pests.

"Put them in the dungeons. I will deal with them later. Give them doses of wolfsbane. I dont want any ruckus. Once Ariana wakes up I will decide what to with them." Saying this Daniel went back.

Val gave one punch to Alex too before letting guards take them away. He then went with Elder Drew to his office to wait for Ariana to wake up.

Hours passed by. No one moved from their respective place. Daniel amd Serena was with Ariana each holding one of her hands. Giving her strength and comfort. Whereas Val, Elder Drew and Ellie were waiting in office. Ellie had joined them after sometime. But, knowing the circumstances no one said a word.

Doctor was keeping an eye on Ariana, checking her vitals time to time.

Finally, after what felt like years but in actual was 18 hours when Ariana eyes fluttered.

She felt weight om both her hands. She tried to wriggle her hands out when she heard someone call doctor. Slowly she opened her eyes. Bright lights hit her eyes forcing her to close them immediately. She groaned. Doctor said,

"Luna, please close the curtains."

Ariana felt weight lifting from one of her hands and heard shuffling of chair. After a minute or so Doctor called her,

"Ariana, are you there with us. If so open your eyes slowly. Curtains are closed now."

Ariana opened her eyes once again and tried to look around. Her mind was hazy. She didn't know where she was. How she came here etc.

Then she turned her head to see who was holding her hand. She found a handsome man intently looking at her with a loving and soft gaze.

'Why does he look familiar' she thought. Her mind was uncoordinated. She wanted to ask alot of questions but before that she needed water.

"Water.." she croaked.

She felt someone lifting her head. She looked at the person. She was a beautiful lady. Ariana was mesmerized by her beauty and didn't even realise when she drank water.

After drinking water she felt better and her mind was also functioning better now. She looked around again and found three pairs of eyes looking at her intently and following all her movements.

Finally, her eyes settled on the only man in the room.

"Who are you? Why do you look familiar? Where am I? What happened to me?" She asked all these question in one breath. Afraid if she missed any she wont get another chance to speak.

"I am Daniel Brown. And you are at my place. I am your mate." Daniel said intentionally omitting other details. He didnt want Ariana to panic.

As soon as Ariana heard mate, memories came crashing in her mind. Like a flash light. She recalled everything that happened to her. Getting all the memories back, she started crying.

She felt soft hands picking her up and then holding her in their arms while she cried. No one stopped her from crying. She got an unknown sense of familiarity and comfort in their arms.

She cried for all the tortures she went through, for her heartbreak and for betrayal. She also cried for her parents. Finally, when her tears dried up and her cries turned into hiccups she felt something and then heard a voice,

'Ariana..'

'Aries. Aries is that you.' Ariana asked.

'Yes Ariana its me Aries.'

'I am sorry Aries, I am sorry I gave up on us,  on you. And I even locked both of us away. I am so sorry.'

'No Ariana, it was not your fault. I dont blame you, I blame myself for not being strong enough for you. For not giving you strength. Please forgive me. I promise I wont let you down.'

'Please forgive me too Aries.'

'Ok Ariana. I sense our mate. He is very close. His wolf is purring. I can hear him.'

'Seriously Aries, in this situation also you are thinking about our mate who abandoned us.'

'Yes, he is here. Rather we are in his house.'

'WHATTT, I want to meet him. Give me the control.' Before Ariana could deny or stop jer Aries already took over.

As soon as Ariana had heard Aries voice Daniel felt her to. His heart felt warm again. That something is missing feeling went away and he felt whole again.

Dom had started purring too. He was getting restless to meet his mate and when Daniel saw Ariana's eyes turning black he too lost his fight with Dom.

'Mate, my mate.'  Dom purred

'Huhhh, some mate you are.' Aries snorted

'I am sorry mate. I am sorry for not putting up enough fight that night. I am sorry for letting you both down. I am sorry for not being able to protect you both. But, I swear on Moon Goddess we tried to find you, to protect you. I am sorry, no we are sorry that we failed. Please forgive me mate. Forgive me.' Dom begged. 

But Aries left without replying. Dom knew that his mate was angry and she wont forgive him so easily. Infact her and Ariana both wont forgive them so easily. They will have to earn it.

With a resolve to win his mate he gave back the control to Daniel back.

When Daniel came to his senses he found Ariana looking at him with a hint of anger in her eyes.

"How did I come here?" Ariana asked.

"I will tell you everything but first let Doctor check you thoroughly. Then eat something after that I will explain you everything."

As soon as Daniel spoke the magic word 'eat' her stomach rumbled loudly. So, she shyly nodded her head.

Small smile played on Daniel's lips whereas Serena chuckled. Ariana hid herself in Serena's embrace again. Then Ariana realised she dont even know her. 

"Ummm, not to be rude, who are you."

"Sorry for not introducing myself, I am Serena." Serena replied purposefully not mentioning her relation to Ariana.

"You are a vampire." Ariana replied realising something.

"Yes. Now enough with the questions. Lets get over with examination and eat something. I bet you are starving." Serena diverted the topic expertly. Ariana nodded.

After examining Doctor gave an ok and she left giving them some privacy.

Daniel had already informed Val to send breakfast. Many questions were running in her mind but she ate silently.

After finishing her food she asked Daniel again but Daniel asked her to sleep first. She understood that Daniel is purposefully delaying but, she was truly feeling very tired so she lied down and was asleep immediately.
