Chapter 1 Birthday Party
Aria “Wake up sleepy heads!” My mother screams into the room at me and my sister Ariel. Today is our 18th birthday and the day of the blood moon. It’s a special day because we gain our wolf and our powers. My family is descendants of the very first wolves and every 1000 years a set of twins of the same s*x are blessed with powers. “Come on, come on! You’re going to be late! There is so much to do today!” Mom says. “We’re up!!” Screams Ariel before entering the shower. Ariel is the younger of the two of us and we may be twins but we are nothing alike. Ariel is 5’2 and feisty with curly golden locks that travels down her back light green eyes, sun kissed skin and she is fit. She is a warrior and plays every sport the school has to offer. Me on the other hand is a little more of an introvert. I am 5’0 with curly red locks that flows down my back, caramel skin, dark green eyes and curvy. Where she loves to get attention, I shy away from it. I’m not a big fan of crowds and people. Once Ariel gets out of the shower, I take my turn. Finally out of the shower, I put on a pair of shorts with my favorite hoodie and my grey and white low top converse. I tie my hair up in a bun, put on some lip gloss and my favorite Rihanna perfume then head to breakfast. “Good morning Ari” “Good morning father” My father, Alpha Marcus Black of the Crescent Moon Pack is one of the most feared and well respected Alphas in the west. He has a pretty respectable rep for him killing the alpha of another pack for committing treason against the hierarchy. “What is on the agenda today?” My father ask. “Well we have to go to the salon and do what girls do, pick up our dresses, shoes, and make today as memorable as possible!” Ariel responds. “Well be safe and make sure you check in.” My father said. Once breakfast was over we headed out for the day. Later that day… Aria Finally party time. I wore my floor length cream colored silk dress that has a long dip in the back that stops at the top of my butt with sheer long sleeves that were off the shoulder and diamond embroidery around the collar line. I paired it with my silver 6 inch heels. Diamond choker and and my diamond encrusted wolf ring my father gave me as an early birthday present. My mother had pinned up my curls to show off my back and neck line. “Are you ready?” Ask Ariel Ariel had the same dress except hers was navy blue to complement her golden curls. She looked exquisite and the dress hugged her figure perfectly. “Yes I am ready!” I say cheerfully. We head down the stairs where the music is blaring, people are dancing and haters were hating. It was 11:30 when my father started to quiet everyone down so we could prepare for our ceremony. That’s when it hit me. The most masculine scent I had ever smelled. The smell of mahogany and the forest on a rainy day. My body began to stir and my mind started racing. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was wrong but I sure was about to find out.
