Moon Hellion

I live on a moon called Hellion and I know what you're thinking, a moon? Really, yes well let me explain it is the second realm to the human world and human I am not and this is my story so shut up and let me start from the beginning. There was a well known war general who happened to be my father and I was very different from all of the other kids in the small village of Alon. I have this special ability, all of the townspeople were elves of course but the strange thing about me is that I had the ability to shape shift which isn’t known to my kind but there are people on the other half of the enchanted forest who do have that ability. We call them the changelings, in reality they are just lycans or most commonly known as werewolves. I never knew who my mother was and my father only told me the same two things one was that he wasn't allowed to talk about her and two was that she died giving birth to me, but I felt that was a lie he was forced to tell by Queen Nala, all I knew is that my mother was or is a werewolf and that I was born half elf and had my wolves essence attached to my soul, I could shift, but I have the outer appearance of an elf and the powers of one. I was the only of my kind because it was forbidden to be with a werewolf. The queen of the elves made that a rule a long time ago but no one ever really understood why until me. So now here I am living a mile outside of the palace, with my father, step-mother Estel and my little half-brother Arwyn plus my baby sister Jezabel. I have my family and my best friend and soon to be soulbound Blaz. I have the perfect little life here in this town. My other best friend Safrina Ivar was the Daughter of my dad's second and best friend commander Arnold Ivar and she lived just down the pathway across the lake like most of the warrior kids did. I attended training classes and that is where this craziness starts. “Father, may I leave for school now,” I asked. “ Is Blaz picking you up darling,” my father asked. “Yes father, he's outside,” I replied. He kisses me on the cheek then says, “ Ok sweetie I’ll see you later, Ahh and hello Blaz it's always good to see you.” “Good morning Mr. Dakari,” Blaz says as he helps me onto my horse Milo. On the way to school we have to pass the bakery, Blaz's mother is the town's baker, so she stops us on our way just like every other day and gives us two of her freshly made pastries because those are my favorite. We then continue on to class out in the woods where it's always held for us elf teens so that we can express ourselves without hurting each other, that's where we learn how to use and control our magic. We enter the opening of the woods where everyone leaves the horses and walk the short trek into the woods to get to the big clearing we use for training class. “Good morning class today is the beginning of the end of your training. At the end of this week you will all start to feel yourself mature into what we call the stage of minority you all or at least most of you should be eighteen by now, who here is not yet eighteen,” Mrs. Itzak began speaking as Blaz and I walked up. There are very few kids in this class, a mere fifteen of us. What shocked me the most was that only four of us weren’t eighteen yet myself included. Mrs. Izak spoke again, “ Mr. Jaku, will you come up here please.” Blaz walked to stand by our teacher looking a little uncomfortable. I had to hide my smirk at the tortured glaze his beautiful golden eyes took on. “ Ok when do you turn eighteen Mr. Jaku?” Mrs. Itzak asked him. Blaz hesitated, “ Tomorrow.” “Ahh ok Miss. Dakari when do you turn eighteen.” “I turn eighteen tomorrow as well Mrs,” I answered her. “ Oh well then you two will be eighteen before the ceremony on Friday. Now Mr. Ivar and Miss. Ivar when do the two of you turn eighteen?” She turned to the twins Kalman and Safrina Ivar. They answered together, “ In three weeks.” “Ok thank you, Now let's start class, grab a partner,” Mrs. Itzak clapped. Of course Blaz and I looked at each other as soon as she said partner. Everyone now had a partner and Mrs. Izak gave the class a few instructions and then let us begin. I suck at controlling the magic. I always say the spells right. I just have a hard time holding the spell. Blaz on the other hand scared me with how bad he was at saying the spells I always ended up either getting put on my ass by a shock wave or up in a tree from a transformation spell gone haywire. “Ok so Blaz do you trust me?” I ask with a sly grin. Blaz nervously laughs, “I trust you with my life Naomi but I’m not so sure about this.” I look at him, “Oh come on we’ve done this a million times what’s different about now.” “Ya only this time your magic is stronger and I would like to keep my breakfast down if you don’t mind.” “ You're adorable when you're upside down,” I said with a little laugh. He tried to scowl at me but couldn't quite pull it off, “Huh did you just say I was adorable.” I could stop myself and rolled my eyes and motioned my hands in an upward sway like motion and Blaz flipped around and then twisted until he was rightside up again. Then I chanted, “Plätze tauschen.” and Blaz disappeared from sight. I felt a tap on my shoulder which made me jump and turn to smack him as he chuckles and says, “ Hey you did it perfectly actually.” I huffed, “ If it was perfect you would be beside me not behind me.” “ Look at least you got me back out of the sky with the transportation spell like we were told.” I gave him a slight smile, “ yeah bet it takes you longer than me to do it.” He winked at me as everything became upside down when he chanted, “ Schalterpositionen.” (switch positions) I squealed a little and he studied my face for a second before he smiled, “ you know what you're pretty adorable when you're upside down too,” He then winked at me and then chants, “Plätze tauschen.”(change places) In the next moment I only see darkness and then the light comes back to me and I hear nothing and only see trees. “Really Blaz again,” I mumble, then I silently curse my best friend for saying the spell wrong and putting me in the middle of the woods. With my enhanced hearing it was hard to hear the noise coming from somewhere off to my right, a second before I could turn to look I felt a prick in the arm. Looking down I see I dart sticking out and then nothing as I begin to fall backwards. ________________ I woke up in a soft bed that was unfamiliar to me. Far off I heard a girl's soft voice talking in a hard tone toward what sounded like a young man maybe 17-20 years of age with jet black hair with a calm blue hue in the setting sun. Wait, setting sun I jolted upright in the bed, blinking a few time to clear my head of its haze I see a girl who looks to be 15 maybe 16 years old with ruby red curls and freckles covering her arms and a lot of her face staring down at me with an unreadable expression. "Hi, I'm Octavia May Rivera but you can call me Octavia," The red haired girl started. "Ummm, where am I?" I said, very scared. The girl hesitated, not quite sure how to answer from the look on her face. In the next moment I saw movement behind Octavia and tried to see around her to no avail. I assume it was the man and woman who had been arguing in the background. The man clears his throat and looks down at me with the most moss green eyes I’ve ever seen and he says,"You're in Alcazar." In the next moment I felt like I was punched straight in the chest. I couldn’t breathe, Alcazar? Elven people weren't allowed in Alcazar. How had I ended up there? What could this mean and why was I in the biggest werewolf village of this whole goddamn moon. I'm dead, I have to be. "Are you ok?" The man's eyebrows drew together, but that didn't hide the concern in his voice. Getting over the shock I look at him, "Am I dead? What am I doing in Alcazar? And where’d the other girl go?" He smiles, but doesn't answer and looks to Octavia for help with the answer. Octavia huffs and look at me, "My i***t uncle here," she points at the man, "saw you in the woods and said that you just appeared out of nowhere onto the edge of our territory and he thought it was really weird and then he felt you wolf's presence, so he made a stupid decision and knocked you out and brought you here. As for the other girl, that was his sister and my mom and she left." "What do you mean he felt her?" I asked with confusion. She looked very unhappy that she had to explain it to me, "Well you see if we need to know if another wolf is near but in their human form we let our own wolf reach out to see if we can sense the essence of the other person's wolf." "Ok that still doesn't explain why he saw the need to bring me here," I said frustrated. "Like I said a stupid decision," Octavia said as she looked at her uncle. "Hey O hate to break it to you, but the alpha wants to see this outsider immediately," the man spoke up. "Ughhh, I'm sorry sweetie, but when the alpha wants something we have to follow the order," Octavia had the most apologetic look. As soon as she said that, I got this feeling of knots in my stomach. Alpha? Why would the leader of a pack want to see me? So many questions, and no one even knew my name. "By the way my name is Naomi, it's nice to meet you Octavia," I say abruptly and smile at the girl. Octavia smiles back and then proceeds to extend a hand to me to help me up off the bed. As soon as we left the little cottage I noticed the whole village and it's so beautiful and bright there with small cottages spread out over the land not to close together and a lot facing the woods. It reminds me of the village downstream of the palace back in Alon and makes me think that our two kinds might not be as different as they seem. After passing by the last two houses, we approach a bigger house with a well guarded entrance gate. The guard looks over the three of us and says, "state your names and business here." "Octavia May Rivera and my uncle Zander Collins we are here to see the alpha queen about the outsider." Soon after another quick look over he let us through the gate to enter into the foyer only to be greeted by silence followed by rushing feet. In the next instant a short old gray haired butler appeared and bowed to the man and then led us all into what looked like a throne room. In one of the chairs sat a beautiful young woman with dark brown hair and beautiful gray eyes much like mine. In fact as soon as I saw the woman I got an odd feeling of recognition. A small intake interrupted the silence,"Naomi?" the woman's voice came into barely a whisper. I finally realized why I recognized this woman, "Mom?!" I choke-cried out. The alpha recovered from her shock, "Zander, where did you say you found this girl?" The man, Zander I guessed, spoke up," I was Patrolling in the woods when she just appeared out of nowhere on the outskirts of the village and I sensed her wolf. I thought it was best to bring her in, ma'am." "She's not supposed to be here, Naomi, what were you doing out there? Your father would never have let you go there." My mom said, looking at me now. "We were doing umm," I paused, unsure of how to continue. "Well," she said, starting to get impatient. "Ughh, mom I don't know how to tell you I'm not really allowed to talk about it too well to werewolves," I finally ramble out. Octavia speaks up," But you are a werewolf. That doesn't make sense." Understanding dawned in my moms eyes," everyone but Zander and Naomi leave the room, Now!" Once Everyone cleared out she looked at Naomi,"Well my dear you may speak now I know all about you." "We were in class doing spells and a friend of mine Blaz did a transportation spell and I ended up in the middle of the woods," I started, "It's not the first time, but I usually don't end up that far away from our village." Zander speaks which makes me jump, "What is she talking about Queen Willow?" My mom looks at him and says," This is my daughter Naomi Dakari and she is half elf." Zander looks so shocked all he can manage to say was what. To explain to Zander my mom tells her story,"A long time ago I was a mere 17 years old and was running through the woods and I came across a young boy named Akin doing magic. I knew what he was almost immediately but I honestly didn't care. I wanted to know him. I was in awe of him the moment I saw him. I later discovered it was because I was his soulbound and I felt the pull of the magic that was to bring us together. After a month we ended up getting together and one passionate night made our lives change forever. I ended up pregnant and we ended up having a baby girl who was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen but the elf queen found out about the half breed child and said that she could never be with both parents and that from this day forth a wolf and elf can never be together and the child would have to live among the elves and can never see me or know of my existence." After Willow explained the story to Zander he understood everything. And looked at me and realized that I would have to go back to my home and my father. "I'm not leaving, I don't care what the elf queen has to say about it," I declared, " you're my mom and it's not her choice if I know you or not. Honestly she can’t decide my life. I am a full werewolf. I have my wolf's essence in me, I'm only half elf. My magic is a part of me but I feel my wolf more easily than my magic." My mom shook her head,"Darling I'm sorry, but as much as I want you here with me, you can't stay here not until you turn 18." Shocked and a little hurt, I said,"What, why, I turn 18 in two days?" " It's the deal I made with the queen because when you turn 18 you'll start to feel your alpha needs coming from your wolf because you are the next female alpha when I have to step down when I get to old, and Zander is to be the male alpha and your mate, just like Lucius became mine once I became the full alpha female he imprinted even after I had a soulbound because it was a connection that was true and I had to take a werewolf mate, you will have a soulbound as well and because you have a longer lifespan and will stop aging once you hit 18 you will be able to have both but for now you must go home and finish your training." " Ok," I said as I turned to walk out to go home turning around I add," and mom…. I love you." She smiles," I love you too Naomi, Now go back to your father I'll see you soon." I walk out of the room and into the village and stop when a hand catches mine. I look up to see Zander gazing down at me looking as if he wanted to say something. "Can we talk before you go?" He asks with hope in his eyes. I shrug, " I don't see why not." His smile deepens as he leads me into the woods,"So about that whole mate thing," He turns to me, " What do you think of getting to know each other and hanging out more this week? We can meet in the same spot I got you from earlier." I smiled," I'd love that. But for right now I better get back before people start to worry." I walk about a half a dozen feet away look towards Zander smile and say, "watch this" I put my hands in the air and they start to glow. I say goodbye to him and then chant,"Plätze tauschen." And my world goes dark as I transport. I land a few yards away from the lake that resides at the edge of the forest line behind the palace. I run to the edge of the woods where I am greeted by my soulbound with a hug.
