Where it all began
The sun never felt this warm holding me in its embrace. A warmth not too sharp and not too distant. The cold water gently touching my fingertips and smoothly flowing. A beautiful feeling I didn’t want to let go of, but this feeling was short lived as the excruciating pain shot through me yet again and, I asked myself why? As my vision settled the warmth was the fire torch held right beside me by some figure and the cold water was just the blood flowing through the deep cuts I had. This had to be it I thought…
6 months ago…
“Aremina”!! I heard my friend shouting like a maniac outside my house. I looked outside my window and shouted back “I’m coming! Don’t do things that would make the neighbors call the cops on you again!!” She rolled her eyes and shrugged. Nancy was my best friend since childhood. We were literary together since birth as our wards were just next to each other. She lives next door and usually gets into trouble because of me. Even after being totally polar opposites Nancy and I are inseparable no matter what. I got ready and hurried out the door Nancy was furious she started going off on me the second I got out. “You literary made us miss the bus!!!! Are you serious!?” I replied “I’m just five minutes late what’s the big deal?? We can just catch it at the next stop!” She said “not five you are forty-five minutes late!! The students must have already reached the museum by now! Gosh I told you how much I was looking forward to this trip rig…?!” I cut her sentence by saying “ok fine!! I’m sorry… let me grab my keys.” And I got the keys of my brand new sports bike. I had always been a fan of them and Nancy being my total opposite she never liked to ride on it but this time she didn’t complain because it was ‘her special trip’.
So we went on the speed of crossing every speed limit and reached the museum just before our teacher was doing a headcount! Nancy was dizzy and quite nauseous but glad that we had reached, I looked at the teacher and she glared at me giving me the look she gave me whenever I was going to be in trouble! It has always been my thing to make a statement at everything I do so I was a little bit rebellious and well… I loved it. Nancy on the other hand was always the teachers favorite and just was into everything that I didn’t like I mean sometimes even we wondered how we were best friends but there was just this instant bond between us when we first met. We were about to head inside as the teacher stopped me and said “this is the last warning Miss Aremina! DON’T COME TO SCHOOL ON BIKES!!” I shrugged and apologized when from the corner of my eye I spotted carol. I don’t know why but this girl has always been my enemy as she hated me and is constantly jealous of me. She was smiling devilishly almost as if mocking me and went inside. I swear she made my blood boil! I went inside and Nancy was all lost in the artifacts and paintings in there, she had always been a history geek and that’s why she was looking forward to this trip. I still remembered the day when Nancy first introduced me to the world of supernatural history, oh boy I was so reluctant and so sure that I won’t like it but it instead became the first thing that we both found fascinating!
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t notice a group forming around me they were looking at the artifact in front of me. It was an orb, but a purple colored one. I found it kind of odd as it looked very ordinary so, I said to Nancy “hey, aren’t all the artifacts in places like museums supposed to be fancy and like expensive stuff? what’s this thing over here?”
