CHAPTER TWENTY Brian was tired. He had been up since five that morning, driving and interviewing people. It was starting to catch up with him. He stopped at the police station and picked up a sandwich and coffee. That would keep him going. He called Officer Chapman at Mission Hospital for an update. Springer was still in surgery, coming out soon. Brian got on the road. It was an easy forty minute drive to Asheville and he expected no traffic. Fortunately, Mission Emergency was located off Hendersonville Road, which meant he didn’t have to go through downtown. Of course, at this hour there wouldn’t be much traffic anyway.
