Drey Redford chuckled. “How can I know the mighty chairman of the ImperialSage Group? That's not possible. Besides, I'm just an orphan.” Betty pouted her lips as she regarded Drey for a moment, unable to accept the explanation. “What about the Teewinot Cabin?” Drey looked at her, with raised brows. “What about it?” “I looked it up already, honey. Teewinot Cabin is one of the most luxurious villa areas in this city.” “Oh,” Drey started. “Well, that cabin belongs to my friend who doesn't stay in the city. When I told him I needed a place to stay, he lent me that.” Betty nodded once, hesitantly. Drey studied her for a moment. “What? Are you disappointed that the cabin doesn't belong to me?” Betty shook her head briefly. “Not at all, I am not.” “And will that change how you feel about me now? I must not be as rich as you have painted me to be.” “No, that's not it!” Betty assured. “That's not how I feel. And something like that is never going to make me change how I feel about you. Besides, I will definitely support you in the future.” Drey smiled at this, feeling proud of Betty. She wasn't at all materialistic like the other girls he had seen. Betty rested her head against Drey and looked up, just in time to see a woman banging at the window. She was crying and calling out for help. It was Ann, but it didn't look like her anymore as her hair was already rough and flying on her face. “What happened to her?” Betty muttered; just then, Lucas showed up behind her. “How dare you make me lose my job? This is all your fault!” Lucas yelled from behind her and turned her around to hit her across the face. Ann cried. “I'm so sorry. I had no idea Betty knew the chairman personally. Please,” she begged, but Lucas wasn't ready to listen to her as he hit her again. Seeing that her words weren't effective on Lucas, she turned towards Ann again. “Please, help me get my job back. I beg of you.” Betty stared, bewildered. She turned to Drey with a worried expression. “Should we help her, Drey?” Drey smiled softly. “Aren't they lovers? Lovers are meant to resolve whatever issues they may have between them. We do not have to interfere.” Betty nodded quickly and looked back at Ann. By now, Lucas wasn't beating Ann anymore. Instead, he was gently knocking on the window, with a gesture for Betty to wind down the window. Drey scoffed and turned to Charles. “Wind down the window,” he ordered. He wanted to see what Lucas was up to. Lucas had a smile on her face as he yanked Ann away so he would be able to see Betty clearly. “Miss Betty. I'm sorry for the other time. I had no idea you were familiar with the chairman. Please, I will do anything you ask for as long as I can have my job back,” he beseeched softly. Betty stared, shocked. She had nothing to say. She didn't even know Damon that well and was still in confusion at how easy she was able to seal the orders. At first, she had thought it was because of Drey’s help, but then Drey explained that he had nothing to do with it. Now, even Betty was confused as to what had happened. “I will give you some money if you want!” Lucas said quickly. Betty ignored him and looked at Drey. “Honey, we need to go home and show Grandfather what we have achieved so he can accept you,” she said, intentionally increasing her voice to make sure Lucas heard so he would know that Drey was actually her husband. Drey put an arm around Betty and looked at Charles. “Drive.” Charles nodded once and pulled out of the parking lot. Lucas and Ann raced after the car as if their lives depended on it until they could see the car no more. Betty soon forgot about them, already in a good mood at the fact that his family would have no choice but to finally accept Drey as her husband. In the Lavenders' villa, the whole family was around. Since Betty got her beauty back, the whole family has been thinking of how to monetise it. Betty had always been so ugly, yet the whole family spent on her. Now that her good looks were back, it was only fair she made them the money back. So, they were already planning on how she would marry into a rich family so they could benefit from it. Because of this, Sean invited Ethan over. Ethan is from the Sterling family. He was in fact the black sheep of the family. He wasn't at all concerned with working except enjoying. He was from the Sterling family; of course, they give him honour wherever he goes. When Mason was still the head of the family, he had rebuked Ethan several times and even cut his allowance because he had refused to change. Now, his father was going to take over the Sterling family, and he knew that he had a better future. After the patriarch's death, the family went into mourning but quietly. So, Ethan decided to go out. Aside from that, when Sean sent his cousin's picture to him, he was mesmerised and hoped he could marry her. Ethan was greatly received by the Sterling family. Sean pulled the family aside and told them. “I've bought Ethan so that he and Betty can meet and plan the wedding.” The whole family was happy at this. “Thank you so much, Sean. Having the Sterling family as an in-law is a great thing,” Ann muttered a word of gratitude, something she doesn't do on a normal day. Even Joe nodded in approval. Just then, the door opened and Betty walked inside with Drey. Ethan looked up at Bettu, and he couldn't quite contain what he was looking at. He had seen Betty's picture, but he hadn't expected her to be very beautiful. He had seen Betty when her body was all burnt and ugly, and he didn't at all expect such a quick transformation. Now, he was hellbent on making Betty's his. “Betty, come, I need to introduce you to my friend, Etahn Sterling,” Sean was saying as he led Betty to where Ethan was. Betty ignored them and moved closer to Joe. “Grandfather, we have done it. The task has been completed.” “Betty, stop being so disrespectful!” Ann rebuked, ignoring her announcement. “It's ok,” Ethan said softly and stood up. “I love the stubborn one though.” Yet again, Betty ignored him. “Grandfather, we got the contract with the ImperialSage Group. In fact, it's not a fifty million order but a 100 million dollar one.” Ethan scoffed, clearly annoyed by Betty's behaviour. “Well, I can make you lose that contract if you don't accept marrying me. Just a phone call and everything will be settled,” he threatened. The Sterling family and the ImperialSage were in a close relationship anyways. In fact, the Sterling family gets the bigger cut before any other company would. Drey scoffed. “I thought Mason Sterling just died. Aren't you guys mourning? Why are you here then?” Ethan felt a stab of annoyance at this. “What! How dare you!” The Sterling family might be mourning, but no one could talk about it. Even though they witnessed the death of the strongest man in the city, no one had the effrontery to discuss it, let alone ask one of the Sterling family about it, but Drey had the effrontery to. He pulled out a knife and dropped it at Drey’s feet. “Take it and cut off your hand. Then, I will forgive you.” What! Betty's eyes widened with shock. “Grandfather! You can't believe this!” A soft voice yelled out suddenly, interrupting the session, and a lady rushed inside. “The internet is currently going crazy over the chairman of the ImperialSage Group personally receiving Betty! It has made headlines!”
