Chapter 1
Michael was having a rough week at work. He was drowning in paperwork and endless meetings, and he was in dire need of a break. He decided to go to his favorite coffee shop to clear his mind and grab a cup of coffee. As he was waiting in line, he noticed a beautiful girl with a warm smile behind the counter.
He couldn't take his eyes off her, and before he knew it, he was walking up to the counter to order his coffee. "Hi, can I get a large latte please?" he asked, trying to sound confident.
The girl smiled at him, "Sure thing. That'll be $4.50."
Michael handed her the money, and as she made his latte, they started talking. He learned that her name was Lucy, and she was new to the city. They talked about her hometown and what she liked to do in her free time, and before Michael knew it, an hour had gone by.
He was captivated by her easy smile and kind personality, and he couldn't help but ask for her number. "I know this might sound forward, but would it be okay if I got your number? I'd love to take you out sometime," he said, trying to hide the nervousness in his voice.
Lucy smiled at him, "Of course, I'd love that."
From that moment on, Michael and Lucy started dating, and he soon realized that he was falling in love with her. They had an effortless connection, and every moment he spent with her was filled with laughter and happiness.
Jake is like Michael when it comes to work, A dedicated and serious type of men! but Jake is more Fun and romantic and he likes going to party.
"ringgggg..ringgg " his Friend Aloha is calling. " Yes, Aloha? How are you?" Jake answered." Hello my dear Jake! don't miss the party tonight, okay? Come on! let's have fun! " then Aloha turn off the call. Since Jake Love's going to the party he then clean up his body and started to prepare on going to the party.
When Jake arrived at the venue he can't see Aloha and any of their friends yet but he saw a sexy and beautiful girl wearing a yellow dress. He was immediately struck by her beauty and wit, and they hit it off right away. They talked for hours, laughing and sharing stories about their lives.
"You know, I've never met anyone like you, Lucy," Jake said as they were sitting on the couch, looking out at the city skyline.
Lucy smiled, feeling a flutter in her chest. "I feel the same way, Jake," she said. "I feel like I've known you for a long time."
They continued talking, and before they knew it, the party was over and they were the last two people there. They walked out of the building and stood on the sidewalk, the city lights twinkling above them.
"Can I walk you home?" Jake asked, offering her his arm.
Lucy want to say yes, but something is bothering on her head. " my god! this is just a first met. Am I not seems like a club girl if I agree on him on this short period of knowing each other???" Asking herself a question.
"Hey! are you fine? Lucy I am talking to you but you seems thinking too deep, what's wrong dear?" Jake told Lucy.
Lucy took his arm, smiling up at him. "I'd like that," she said.
They walked in silence for a few blocks, until they reached Lucy's apartment. They stood outside her door, and Jake turned to face her.
"Lucy, I have to tell you something," he said, taking her hands in his. "I like you. I know it's crazy, and we just met, but I can't help how I feel."
Lucy looked up at him, her heart beating fast. She had never felt this way about anyone before, and she knew she was falling for Jake too.
Before Lucy speak up, Jake couldn't help himself and continue his hand to move towards Lucy. He hold her face and slowly kiss her Lips. Lucy smells the alcohol in her mouth but she's loving the deep kiss and his elegant smell perfume.
"Okay, Let's continue again the other day! Lucy said while smiling and pushing Jake to leave for now as it is already 12 O'clock in the midnight.
Jake just smiled. " Wait for me tommorrow I'll drop by here.
The next day, Lucy Prepared herself and a sweets, so when Jake came she is all set but unfortunately, not even a shadow came that day and its almost a month now that Jake didn't even show. Lucy decided to buried their memories and felt upset to Jake.
" ughh! what happen to my phone!" Jake said while being faint seeing his phone blinking and not functioning at all. "What should I do now, today is just a 5th day of the month! So I'm gonna wait for almost 30 days to have some money to buy a new phone!" combing his hair while slowly being sitted on the floor. He also forgot that he agreed with Lucy to go over her house today but because of what happen to his phone he again drink at that early morning and forgot what they have agreed.
Lucy was heartbroken, she had been waiting for Jake all day, preparing all sorts of treats for their catch-up, but he never showed up. She had been feeling lonely for a while now and was hoping that their meeting would help her lift her spirits. She spent the next few days in a daze, trying to get over the disappointment of Jake's no-show.
Jake, on the other hand, was completely unaware of what had happened. His phone had died and he was unable to contact Lucy. He was worried about his finances and had to wait until the end of the month before he could buy a new one. He had also been struggling with his own demons and had started drinking heavily, which had affected his memory. He couldn't even remember his plans with Lucy and had let her down yet again.
Days turned into weeks, and Lucy had all but given up on Jake. She was still in love with him, but she was tired of waiting for him to visit again. She was about to make a big decision that would change their lives forever.
As the days passed by, Jake was consumed by regret for not showing up to meet Lucy. He couldn't shake the feeling that he had lost something truly special. Meanwhile, Lucy had moved on and was trying to forget about Jake.
But just as she thought she had succeeded, she received a surprising visit from Jake. He stood at her doorstep, looking sheepish and apologetic.
"Lucy, I'm so sorry for not showing up that day," he said, his voice filled with genuine remorse. "My phone broke and I just completely lost track of time. I've been kicking myself ever since for missing that chance to see you."
Lucy's heart skipped a beat at the sight of Jake, but she tried to play it cool. "It's okay, Jake," she said with a shrug. "I've moved on, don't worry about it."
But Jake was not so easily deterred. He pulled out a bouquet of her favorite flowers and got down on one knee. "Lucy, I know I messed up, but I want to make it up to you. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life making it up to you. Will you give me another chance?"
Tears welled up in Lucy's eyes as she gazed down at Jake, her heart overflowing with love and happiness. She knew deep down that he was the one for her, and she couldn't bear to let him go but she refused to Jake.
"No, Jake," she replied coldly, wiping away her tears. "I can't love you, not after what you've done. I can't forgive you, not this time. It's over between us."
Jake stepped back, feeling the weight of her words. He had never felt so alone, so empty, and so lost. He had hurt her deeply, and he knew that he had to let her go. He had to find a way to make things right, even if that meant saying goodbye to the love of his life.
The weeks passed by, and Lucy tried to move on with her life. She took on more responsibilities at work and tried to keep herself busy. She dated other guys including Michael and even went on a few trips, but nothing seemed to fill the void that Jake had left in her heart.
Jake, on the other hand, had his own struggles. He started drinking heavily and getting into trouble with the law. He didn't know how to cope with the pain of losing Lucy and he felt like he was spiraling out of control.
Despite their efforts, they couldn't seem to forget each other. Every time Lucy heard a song that reminded her of Jake, her heart would ache. Every time Jake saw a picture of Lucy, he would feel a pain of regret. They were both haunted by their past and the love that they had once shared.
One day, as Lucy was browsing through a bookstore, she stumbled upon a book that caught her eye. It was a novel about two soulmates who were meant to be together, no matter what obstacles they faced. She felt a rush of emotions as she read the words, and she realized that no matter how hard she tried, she could never forget Jake. She knew that she still loved him, and she had to find a way to make things right but Lucy is wondering why she felt like so in love with Jake even though they just met and talked for only 1 night with a torrid kiss! "So maybe that's the reason! I love the kiss I think!" She told herself. Am I a one night stand?
As Lucy pondered over her feelings for Jake, she couldn't help but remember the passionate kiss they shared that one night. She had never felt so alive and free in her life before, and the thought of Jake made her heart race. Despite only knowing him for one night, Lucy couldn't shake the feeling that he was meant to be in her life.
She tried to push away her feelings, telling herself that she was being foolish and that she shouldn't fall for someone she barely knew. But no matter what she did, she couldn't get Jake out of her head. The thought of him made her smile, and the thought of never seeing him again made her heart ache.
Days passed, and Lucy couldn't stop thinking about Jake. She tried to focus on her work and her friends, but something was always missing. She felt lost and alone, like a part of her was missing. She wondered if she was just being foolish, and if she should just move on and forget about Jake.
Lucy stopped from what she's doing and started to dream " She was at the local coffee shop, sipping on her latte and lost in thought when she saw him walk in. He was just as handsome as she remembered, with his bright blue eyes and charming smile. She couldn't believe her luck, and her heart started racing as she tried to catch his eye.
Jake seemed just as surprised to see her, and he made his way over to her table. "Lucy, I can't believe it's you!" he said, smiling warmly. "I've been thinking about you ever since that night, and I couldn't stop myself from coming back to find you."
Lucy felt her cheeks turn red, and she couldn't help but smile. She had been hoping that Jake would come back into her life, and now he was standing right in front of her. She didn't know what to say, but Jake didn't seem to mind. He took her hand and looked into her eyes, and she felt like she was falling into his gaze.
"Lucy, I know this is crazy, but I think we have something special," he said. "I know we barely know each other, but I can't help but feel like we were meant to be together. What do you say? Will you give me a chance to prove it to you?"
Lucy couldn't believe what she was hearing, and she felt like she was living in a dream. She looked into Jake's eyes, and she saw nothing but love and sincerity. She felt a surge of excitement and happiness, and she knew that she had found something special with Jake.
"Yes, Jake," she whispered, smiling through her tears. "I love you too, and I forgive you. Let's start over and make beautiful memories together."
And with that, Jake swept Lucy into his arms, kissing her deeply like ever before and passionately as the sun set on their future filled with love and happiness."
Outside Lucy's apartment, her friend is pressing the door bell for about a few minutes now but no one is coming to open the door.
"Heyyy! Karen shouted with a slap to Lucy's face as she is dreaming about their sweet encounter of Jake and her and not hearing karen while knocking at the door.
Lucy jumped out of her seat, rubbing her cheek as she looked up at Karen in confusion. "What the... Karen? What are you doing here?" she asked, still disoriented from her daydream.
Karen rolled her eyes, laughing as she made her way into the apartment. "I've been knocking for five minutes, girl! You were so lost in your own little world, you didn't even hear me."
Lucy chuckled, feeling embarrassed as she realized what had happened. "Sorry about that. I was just thinking about... something." She trailed off, not wanting to share the details of her dream with her friend.
Karen raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Oh, I see. Well, it must have been some pretty wild thoughts to completely ignore me." She grinned mischievously, taking a seat on the couch. "So, spill the beans. What were you daydreaming about?"
Lucy hesitated for a moment, but then she couldn't help but smile at the memory of her dream. "Okay, fine. I was dreaming about Jake and our kiss last time."
Karen's eyes widened in surprise. "Whoa, really? That must have been some kiss!"
Lucy blushed, feeling a warm flush spread through her cheeks. "It was. I can't stop thinking about it."
Karen laughed, shaking her head. "Well, I can tell. You're completely smitten, girl. So, what's the plan? Are you going to see him again?"
Lucy shrugged, feeling a mix of excitement and uncertainty. "I don't know. I mean, we only just met. But I can't get him out of my head."
Karen nodded understandingly. "I know how that feels. But don't worry, we'll figure something out. Maybe we'll even go on a double date with Michael and his new girlfriend."
Lucy's eyes lit up at the suggestion. "Really? That would be great! But what if Jake doesn't want to see me again?"
Karen waved her hand dismissively. "Don't be ridiculous. Of course he does. That kiss was obviously just the beginning of something amazing."
Lucy smiled, feeling hopeful for the first time since Jake left. Maybe Karen was right, and their story was just getting started. Only time would tell, but she was determined to make the most of it, no matter what the future held.
One fine sunday, Michael asked Lucy to go to park and unwind which Lucy agreed immediately to freshen up. While walking, Michael saw Jake. " Hey bro! how's life! do you want to join us? anyway meet my new special friend, Lucy! "
Lucy and Jake both shocked that they saw each other again in that kind of set up. "Hi!" Lucy greeted! Then Jake just slightly smiled and excuse himself.
As Lucy and Michael continued walking, Lucy's heart was pounding in her chest. She couldn't believe that she just saw Jake again after all this time. She had tried so hard to forget about him, but seeing him again brought all those feelings rushing back to the surface.
Michael, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to the tension between Jake and Lucy. He chattered on, completely unaware of the awkward silence between the two of them.
But as they reached a secluded part of the park, Lucy suddenly stopped in her tracks. There was Jake again, sitting on a bench and staring intently at her. It was as if he was waiting for her, waiting for the right moment to talk to her.
Lucy and Jake's eyes locked, and they both knew that they needed to talk.
Michael excuses for a while to buy some street foods for them.
Lucy got a chance to speak with Jake for a minute.
However, as Lucy approached him, Jake looked away and avoided eye contact. Lucy's heart sank as she realized that he might not feel the same way about her anymore. She tried to start a conversation, but Jake was distant and unresponsive. The awkward silence between them only made the situation worse.
Lucy started to question if she had made the right decision in coming to the park. Had she misinterpreted the look in Jake's eyes? Had she been foolish to think that they could have a second chance?
As she turned to leave, Jake finally spoke up. "Lucy, wait," he said, but his voice was distant and cold. "We don't need to talk about what happened between us. It's just a kiss, and it's best if we just leave it there."
Lucy felt a sharp pain in her chest. The words cut deep, and she felt like she had been punched in the gut. She couldn't believe that Jake could be so dismissive of their past, of their connection. She tried to compose herself and mustered up the courage to say something back.
Lucy watched him go, feeling the weight of her heart in her chest. The thought of never seeing Jake again was almost too much to bear.
