Chapter 4: Mate

Levi’s Pov

“Goddamnit!! Where the hell are they?!” I growled in frustration as I looked around like a mad man. Suddenly a pair of strong arms pulled me into the restroom.

“Dude what is your problem??” Tyler eyed me with confusion and panic.

“Mate” I whispered and his eyes grew wide.

“Are you sure?”

“Does it look like I’m sure?!” I snarled while slamming him against the wall. I hadn’t been this riled up since...never.

The scent of my mate was driving me wild, it was strong, especially in here so he must’ve been in here earlier. I released my grip on Tyler and went to splash water in my face. I needed to get a grip. Like it or not, I couldn’t just go full rampage to find them since this mall was filled with humans. Exposing what I was could put us all in danger and force the pack to relocate since hunters were also a big problem along with rouge wolves and rival packs.

I sighed before realizing what I had to do.

And then, just like that, Percy was in control.

Simon’s Pov

I was pissed.

I woke up and found myself in the mall with like 12 shopping bags surrounding me. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Axel decided to head over to the food court to grab some Chinese food as a way to reward himself for this nonsense. I frowned but sighed. I could never stay mad at him.

Was he a jerk sometimes? Big time. But he kept us safe, loved me, and always made me feel like I had someone on my side at all costs. Plus...I may have gone overboard with the veggies and diet stuff at home so I guess he’s putting his foot down. We’d have to come to some kind of compromise.

Axel: Sooooooo nice weather today huh?

‘Why are we in the mall stuffing down chicken and broccoli?’

Axel: And why is the sky blue?

Axel: So many questions, so little time

‘Seriously?’

Axel: Simon have I ever told you that you’re beautiful

‘Axel seriously?!!!!!’

Axel: okay I’m sorry I was just cramped in the house with all that crappy food, so I took a drive and ended up here. Plus you needed new clothes anyway since we were barely able to pack from the old place so why not the mall?

‘Well I guess so. It makes sense but next time warn me please’

Axel: Deal. Hey how about we-

Axel:……

‘You okay buddy?’

‘Axel?’

Axel: *Purring*

I become confused when my wolf stops talking to me and starts purring. I see him vividly in my mind, laying down in a submissive way and batting his eyelashes like a lovestruck school girl. I snicker at his behavior and get ready to make fun of him when a scent hits my nose.

It’s strong, like...powerfully strong.

It smells like peaches and pears. I take in a lung full and my heart immediately starts pounding so much I can literally hear it in my ears.

I suddenly feel my body tingle in excitement as I feel a pair of eyes on me. I put down my fork and look around until I spot...him.

He’s staring at me from across the food court.

Holy s**t.

He’s….holy s**t.

The man in staring at is tall, at least 6’3, with an athletic build. His eyes are an aqua blue with a beautiful hazel tint to them. His black hair looks silky and smooth and he has tattoos covering both his arms. One of his eyebrows has a slight cut on them and his hair is up in a beautiful man bun.

To say this man was fine, wasn’t even enough. I start to get nervous and slightly shake as he approaches me. I think about making a run for it but Axel growls at me to stay put and keeps us locked at the table.

When he gets closer the smell of his cologne tickles my nose makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I’ve never felt this way, especially towards a stranger. But then again, none of those strangers have ever been my mate before.

Levi’s Pov

I stood in the bathroom and mind linked Percy for help. This mall was huge and if my mate had been walking around for a while, it would take me awhile to find them. Not that I couldn’t pick up the scent, but it was so strong everywhere that it would be hard to pinpoint exactly where they were.

Percy immediately agreed to help and took control in a second.

I suddenly found myself speed walking out the bathroom and walking towards the escalator. With Taylor on our heels we make our way across the mall towards the one place I should’ve guessed.

The food court.

It made perfect sense. My mates scent was literally in every store we walked past so I guess they worked up an appetite. I smirked. So my mate was a bit of a shopper huh? That’s fine, I couldn’t wait to spoil them.

Although it had me thinking...men usually don’t shop that much, so was it a woman? Part of me frowned because I had never liked women in my life, but the moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes so I was gonna be happy with whoever they were.

No matter if it was man or female.

I suddenly became nervous was I rode the last escalator to get upstairs to the food court. This was it. A moment I had looked forward to for so long was now a reality. Would I like them? Would they like me? Were they attractive? How would our first kiss be? So many questions, and only one thing could answer them all. Time.

We reached the top and after taking only two steps, Percy whipped my head in one direction and starting purring. Even through a sea of people, I was able to spot my mate with a single glance.

He was a very attractive light skinned guy with gray eyes, short curly white hair, and freckles littered his nose. Holy crap he was beautiful. He sat at a small table by himself with a small plate of Chinese food and shopping bags all around him. Once Taylor followed my gaze, he seemed to be shocked at how attractive he was.

“Wow alpha I’m not gay but if I was, well hot damn.”

I snarled at my beta and he whimpered immediately. Nobody was to even joke about taking what’s mine. With that, I walked over to the table and produced a genuine smile as I walked over to the man that was literally made just for me. Where had he been all this time? Who cares, he was here now. I finally made it to the table and without thinking, I yanked him gently out the seat for a hug. Wow, he was...really tiny. I’m 6’3 and most male wolves are around 5’11 and Alphas are usually 6’3 but he had to be like 5’6 or 5’7. But that was fine because he fit into my arms perfectly.

I looked down at him and he looked up, his beautiful gray eyes locking with mine.

“Mine” I growled possessively and he blushed shyly before trying to hide his face. Suddenly we both went red as we heard the conversation our wolves were having. I couldn’t mind link yet with my mate since we haven’t officially mated and marked each other but wolves could hear their mates if they were close enough. And unfortunately all I could do was hear the conversation and feel awkward.

Mind link (wolves):

Percy: Well hello there my little mate

Axel: Hello (shyly while batting eyes)

Percy: Aren’t you a precious little thing. So precious and beautiful

Axel: Thank you baby

Percy: Where have you been hiding? I’ve been waiting for so long and now I see that you look so damn good, it makes me what to have my dirty ways with you

Axel: So what’s stopping you big boy?

“Okay well umm I have to go but call me!”

“What?!” I said surprised and angry at the same time. My little mate was try to leave after just coming into my life? I don’t think so.

“Mine” I growled snatching his waist and bringing him closer to me. He swooned and blushed again before speaking again.

“Please I have to go, it’s important. Give me your phone so we can exchange numbers he said shyly and softly. Not wanting to scare him away, I hesitantly nodded and let him use my phone. After that I carried his bags to his car and opened up his driver's seat. After a hug goodbye he was driving off at top speed but not before I got the license plate.

“You’re mine little mouse..so prepare yourself.”
