Chapter 3: Something’s Different

Axel’s Pov

I stirred and itched, like I’ve been doing since we first entered this town.

I don’t get it. Why was I getting a feeling that I just couldn’t shake off?

I didn’t want to alarm Simon so I told him to just be aware of his surroundings just in case. I told him that it was a good feeling but truth be told, I didn’t know why I felt like this and it scared the hell out of me. At least if I sensed danger then I knew what it was.

But this?

But was just an unknown force that left me restless 24/7.

I tried focusing on other things, like our big move to this house, and tried to push the feeling to the back of my mind.

I picked a place to move that was literally across the globe from the last place we lived so I knew we were safe. This was a great start...again. It seems live we’ve been having a lot of “great starts” that don’t end up so great. I love my human to death but if he moves us one more time I’m gonna go full wolf on his ass. I need somewhere to call my own! Permanently! And a little loving wouldn’t hurt either.

I can’t even remember the last time we had some in our bed.

I huffed in annoyance as I realized I was aroused.

I howled for my human to wake up and he just grumbled, whining about the cold or something like that, and snuggled deep into the covers.

I rolled my eyes and pushed Simon into the subconscious part of the mind to let him rest more while I took full control of us. I opened our eyes and hopped out of bed with full energy. Walking into the bathroom, I took a shower, washed my hair and brushed my teeth before heading downstairs.

“Ewww what the f**k is this?!” I hissed angrily as I peeked at the groceries in the fridge. He bought so much salad and veggies I could’ve sworn it was a damn garden in the fridge.

I knew he was talking about dieting but this is flat out ridiculous I suddenly remember the cheat snacks he bought and searched until I found the desserts he bought and settled for a muffin. Now all I needed was a glass of juice and I was in business.

Wait…

Nothing to drink but water and milk? Oh hell no. I look at the time and saw it was around 11:35 am and a smile creeps up on my face.

Simon was going to be pissed.

Levi’s Pov

I groaned to the sound of Tyler knocking relentlessly on my door.

Get the f**k outta here!! I screamed. It was 11 in the morning but I didn’t go to sleep until 9 am today. I worked all night into the morning despite my dear mother’s complaining.

I groaned again even louder as this asshole continued to pound on the door before I gave up and dragged myself out the comfort of my bed. My wolf grumbled but it wasn’t because of what’s happening. He’s been on edge and rumbling about feeling something but he wasn’t sure what it was.

“Hey man!!! Don’t you dare try to stand me up today!!” Tyler yelled through the door and I rolled my eyes.

I walked straight into my bathroom and went to pee before anything else. I then brushed my teeth and started to wash my face when I jumped back startled. My eyes were glowing a dark blue instead of my aqua blue, signaling the presence of my wolf. But...he wasn’t taking control, he was just really, really, aroused for some reason and suddenly so I was.

Now not only was I annoyed with little sleep by Tyler, but I also had a major hard on that I knew wouldn’t go away on its own.

When I tried asking Percy what his problem was, he just grumbled and went into the deeper parts of my mind. Leaving me alone to take care of this little problem by myself. I sighed and grabbed the lotion before I took care of my erection, rubbing myself until I felt my release.

After I finished up and got dressed, I opened the door to find one annoying ass beta waiting for me.

“Finally, you took like 12 years getting ready!”

“If it was 12 years then where’s Kara with all her pups?”

He blushed a deep shade of red. Kara was my cousin and his mate. They got married within a month of finding out they were mates and already had two kids; twin girls. They always joked about a house full of kids but something told me that if they had the finances, they would actually do it. I just chuckled to myself at his reaction and enjoyed the silence as we walked to the pack garage.

“So, dare I ask where you’re dragging me today?”

Tyler grinned before telling me and I griminced immediately.

“We’re going to the mall to shop around and catch a movie.”

“The mall?! That’s like two hours away! What if there’s an emergency?!!”

“The only emergency today is you going to the hospital if you refuse to go. Your mother will personal beat your ass.”

I huffed but didn’t disagree. My mother would have a fit if she saw me anywhere near my office today. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair in frustration before tying it up. I had long straight hair like my mother so I kept the sides shaved down short but the rest of my hair in the middle was still grown out so I had a very nice looking man bun. My mother always teased that I had girls knocking down the door for me and it was true but I always turned them down. I preferred men, even when I was younger so I could care less if a girl wanted me or not.

Lost in thought, I looked out the passenger window to notice we were nearly there.

But the closer we got, the more my wolf stirred and suddenly became more excited.

‘Will you calm down? It’s not like you’ve never been to the mall before’

Percy: You work so much, I almost forgot what outside looked like

‘Oh haha haha, just shut up will you?’

Percy: kiss my ass

Percy: besides it’s not the mall I’m excited about

‘So what are you excited about then?’

Percy: I’m not sure but my instincts are never wrong

‘Maybe we’ll win a prize or something like that!!’

I suddenly became less annoyed at the fact Tyler dragged me outside. Maybe I’d get something good out of it.

We arrived in no time and struggled to find parking like usual but lucked up when some lady left at the same time we arrived. I got out the car and suddenly my world stopped. My heart beat went faster and my palms started sweating. It’s not that I didn’t feel good, but the opposite. I felt like I could take on the world.

I suddenly broke into a sprint towards the front door with Tyler on my heels. He was trying to say something but Percy’s voice boomed in my mind, shutting out anything else.

“Find them!!!” he yelled in my mind frantically and even though I didn’t know who “them” was, I was pretty sure I had a good idea.

I walked fast throughout the mall until a scent suddenly caught my nose. It smelled of cinnamon and apple pie. I took a deep breath and my wolf went completely wild.

This was it.

The moment I had been waiting for since I turned 18.
