Ember's pov…

I couldn't understand what the pack seer who called herself Esme was talking about.

I just kept staring blankly at both the so called pack seer and Sebastian.

I'm still yet to understand how I shifted into a wolf all of a sudden, the thought of how I shifted into a wolf sends cold shivers down my spine, it was so painful and scary.

Gosh! I can't believe, life is already hard for me, it shouldn't get worse.

The scene of how I suddenly shifted keeps popping in my head and it's really freaking me out.

Esme kept saying stuff I couldn't understand, the only thing I picked from what she said was that I was the last descendant of a special breed of wolves called the silver wolves.

How on earth is that even possible?

According to the stories I read about werewolves and the ones I got to learn about as I've lived in a pack of wolves for long, werewolves do have their wolves at eighteen and they would have even started exploring their abilities before then.

I'm f*****g twenty three years and this is happening all of a sudden, werewolves are strong but I'm weak as f**k! I only possess human features so how is all these possible?

I don't know about my parents but they can't possibly be werewolves right?

“I will be back Ember, just remain calm while I go find out about some things with Esme. I understand how freaked out you are but just know that nothing is wrong with you. Remain calm till I return and do not leave this room, I will send the maids over to get you whatever you need.” Sebastian spoke softly to me and I was surprised at his calmness towards me.

I watched him leave the room with the seer and I sighed.

He started acting so nice to me after I suddenly shifted to a wolf or is he being like this because of this old lady…I mean the seer’s presence?

Or is it because I'm now a werewolf and not a human like he thought?

Nah! Let me not even claim that, I'm normal and I'm a human, had it been he didn't bury his fangs at the side of my neck, all these won't have happened?

Humans give love bites instead but he is busy biting me like an animal all in the name of marking me.

What I'm I even saying? Is he not an animal after all?

I checked the spot he bit me and was surprised that I couldn't feel any pain, I was expecting that spot to be bruised because he bit me deeply.

I stood up and went to check myself at the mirror, it was gone and was just leaving a very tiny dark mark.

How come? I could remember deeply that I felt his fangs tear into my skin, it can't just suddenly heal in just an hour or less.

The more I think deeply about the whole thing, the more I think about this whole thing, the more I get confused.

I kept on staring at my reflection in the mirror to see if there were any changes in my body after shifting but there was none at all.

I thought about trying to shift back again to confirm if I was truly a werewolf but I dreaded going through such a painful and scary transformation again.

I just went back to calmly to sit on the bed, what I should bother about the most is my unborn child.

That's the only reason why I'm staying back here, I wish I could run away to a place where Sebastian would never find me and then I would live happily with my child.

That's just what I've always wanted, I don't know why Sebastian came into the picture.

Wait, would my unborn turn out to be a werewolf? I really want my child to be human and live a normal life like other human kids.

I suddenly heard a knock on my door and I returned back to reality.

It can't possibly be Sebastian, his stupid ego can't allow him to knock or ask permission before coming into my room.

I can't count how many times he barges into my room anytime I just finished taking my bath and I'm stark naked and the fact I always forget to lock my door.

“Who is it?”

“It's me, one of the maids, Alpha Sebastian sent me.”

I ushered her in and she came with a tray of food.

“Was he the one who asked you to prepare this for me?”

“Yes,” She answered with a big smile.

This pack has a lot of maids, most especially, Sebastian mansion. He has a lot of maids and different faces come to attend to me everyday.

“Where is he right now?”

“I don't know but I got this message from our Beta,”

“It's fine, you can leave.” I dismissed her and she bowed slightly before leaving.

I exhaled as I glanced at the food. Why did he ask them to bring me food when I just finished eating like an hour ago?

Being a nice person doesn't suit him at all!

I kept the food at a corner and continued pondering.

Sebastian didn't return back until it was evening, I was almost tempted to leave the room because I was tired of just staying in one particular place but I just chose to listen to Sebastian.

“How are you feeling? I'm sorry I went out for too long, I was just trying to gather a little information.” Sebastian suddenly said after returning back to my room.

Wait, did he just apologize?

He tried to touch me but I shifted backwards and sent him a weird look.

“Please stop acting nice, it doesn't suit you at all!” I said with a scoff and he sighed.

“It must be so scary right?”

“Yeah it was and I need an explanation for it, you said the seer would have an answer to all my questions but it just seems like she was talking in parables.”

“Calm down Ember, that is the real you, you're a silver wolf. I think the moon goddess destined you to be awakened by getting marked by your mate.”

“I still don't understand,” I said,

“Do you know anything about your parents?”

“Nah, I grew up in the orphanage, I was found in the woods according to what I was told.” I answered simply and he suddenly snapped his fingers.

“Your parents are silver wolves too, they died trying to protect you because another pack was trying to wipe out all the silver wolves in the werewolf Kingdom because they believed they were dangerous and also a sign of bad omen, that belief ended years ago anyways.

Unfortunately, your parents couldn't protect themselves but they made sure they hid you well so you could survive.

Every other silver wolf was wiped out and they thought you died since you were still very little and couldn't survive without your parents. “ Sebastian explained in detail and I was speechless.

I didn't know why I didn't know why I didn't feel sad or pained about what happened to my parents, maybe because I don't know them and I have no single memory of them.

I stared at my hands and sighed, so I wasn't human?

“I understand how you must be feeling right now Ember but just be rest assured since you have me.”

“But how do I go about everything? I don't even know how I can shift into my wolf form and then transform back to a human. All my life, I had always lived as a human and didn't know…” Sebastian suddenly places his index finger on my lips making me keep shut.

“Don't worry about anything, I'm going to teach you everything you need to know. The only thing I need to focus on is keeping you safe because the other packs must have been notified of your existence after you awakened, they try to claim ownership of you because you're a special breed.” Sebastian said and I got scared a bit.

“Do not be scared, I promise to protect you and our child, nothing is going to happen to you. You just need to brace up because intense training is going to begin soon and I'm not going to go easy on you.” Sebastian said and I sighed.

“Life is full of surprises,” I muttered as he suddenly cups my cheeks.

“Of course, I don't want you bothering too much about today, it's a good thing that you're a silver wolf, you're special.” He said sweetly and I managed to smile.

This new side of Sebastian is surprising but I'm beginning to like it, I don't care if he is faking it or whatsoever.

I just realized that Alpha Sebastian is the only one that can help and protect me so I need to stick with him.

If I try to elope, I won't be safe since my wolf got awakened and the other packs would want to have me in their custody.
