Chapter 31Three days later, things remained strained between them. They still talked and did things together, but Jarod hurt. And there was nothing he could do about the pain, except get over it. And that would take time. “I’m going to take a quick shower,” he said after a morning run. “Okay. I’ll put lunch together.” A short time later, Jarod came out dressed, and they sat in the kitchen and ate in silence. When they finished, Jarod said, “Thank you.
