Calista Sylverine was abandoned and sold by her parents at an auction during her 20th birthday, seeing how she has yet to shift with her wolf. As if that was the worst thing that could occur in her life, she was bought and brought to the selfish and arrogant Alpha of the Crimson Moon Pack, August Donovan, the person she loathes the most after he turned her down when she asked for help to escape from her abusive parents. Alpha Donovan made sure that he would never get attached to her, despite acknowledging how his wolf yearns for her touch and her mere presence.

The Beta of the Silver Moon Pack, Kairo Zedrix, someone more responsible and capable of becoming Calista’s man, turned out to be cursed by the Moon Goddess with becoming Alpha Donovan’s doppelgänger.

How will Calista move on and escape Alpha Donovan’s ruthlessness when she has no other option left but to stay with him? Will she be able to deal with both Alpha Donovan and Beta Zedrix when they share similar faces but entirely different personalities, especially when the Moon Goddess finally announced who her fated mate was?

CHAPTER 1 - The Deceit
CALISTA SYLVERINE’S POV I could no longer recall the last time I heard my parents’ voice and felt their tender touch. From the very first day that I realized that they had abandoned me before I could even open my eyes to this world, I went ahead and supported myself with all my might. The countless sleepless nights I sacrificed to finish my studies in high school weren’t in vain. I have been accepted and have been working side-by-side with the administrative commander of our city. Although I am a mere part-timer, I still didn’t belittle myself as I received more than what I expected. I got the fame that I didn’t even dream of. Wherever I go, people I don’t know recognize me. “Where are you going, Sir Lapilus?” I slightly tilted my head sideways as I asked my boss, who was fixing up his tidied navy suit and necktie while facing the body mirror. “I have a meeting,” Mr. Lapilus coldly replied without batting an eye on me. “As far as I know, you don’t have any scheduled meeting for tonight until tomorrow afternoon. Are you meeting up with someone in private that I should not be aware of?” I added, peeking through the clipboard on my hands. My boss sipped through mid-air, finally glancing at me. “I can never get past your observant eyes, can’t I?” he said, sighing. “Well, if I told you that I’m meeting up with a lone wolf tonight, would you believe me?” he questioned me with such a serious look in his eyes, which made me shiver. I repeatedly shook my head. Mr. Lapilus left the office after a few minutes and when I was done cleaning up the room, I left the building to head home to my small apartment. For some unknown reason, the air that’s brushing through my silky skin felt too cold. I froze to the ground when I sensed that someone was following my tracks. Wait, hold on… What if that person isn’t actually following me and I’m just overthinking? I clenched both of my fists and turned the other way when I heard the stranger’s footsteps getting closer and closer… Until my head knocked onto the person’s chest. “I-I’m sorry…” Judging from the form of the stranger’s body, I could say that he is a man with bulky muscles. He’s taller than me and he has dark, crimson eyes. He hissed and walked past me. He even dropped a paper from his suit, and I failed to bring it back to him because of his brisk walking. “That smell… He doesn’t smell like a normal person,” I muttered as I shrugged off my thoughts, thinking that it might’ve just been his perfume. “I don’t know anyone that goes by the surname Zedrix…” I wondered if I’ve ever met that guy at least once somewhere. I opened the paper that the man left behind and my eyes instantly widened. “So this is where you have been hiding after all these years…” I smirked, a tear slightly crawling down my right cheek as I crumpled the paper. It was the address of my parents’ villa. I’m sure I wasn’t mistaken because I at least know their names, which were also written below the address. To be fair, it was some sort of business card, so I guess it wasn’t intentionally given to me by that man. *** THREE HOURS LATER I don’t know what’s gotten through my head, but now, I am standing right in front of my parents’ villa. From here, I could still see the lights turned on. I could also see faint silhouettes of their bodies, and judging from their movements, I bet that they are having fun. “How could you still laugh after leaving me behind?” I mumbled, my voice filled with frustration. “I won’t let you get away with this. I’ll make sure that you would suffer twice as much as I did, no matter how long it takes,” I added. Without any second thoughts, I pressed the doorbell. It didn’t take them long enough to come out the front door and see me through the opened gates. “What is it?” My mother faced me with a smile. I chuckled, eyeing them from head to toe. The old hags seemed to not have aged or they were simply living such a luxurious life. There’s only a few hours left before it’s midnight, and yet she was still wearing a bright-colored cocktail dress paired with a black high heels. My father, on the other hand, was wearing a simple plaid shirt and dark pants. “You don’t even recognize your own daughter now?” Rolling my eyes, I watched their expressions slowly turn to surprise and fear. “You’re lying… Who are you, really? What do you want from us this late at night?” the old lady asked. “If I say I want my life back, with such loving parents, would you even grant it for me?” The two looked at each other and after a while, my father replied. “If that’s what you want and if that would make you forgive us for leaving you behind… Then, you’re very much welcome to stay with us for the meantime. If you’d like, you can actually stay for as long as you want.” Faking a smile, I went along with their play. I know that he didn’t actually mean those words. A stone pathway led the way towards the entrance of their house. As expected, it wasn’t only their exterior that looked magnificent. The interior was filled with numerous equipment and furniture that seemed to glow when struck by light. Their ceiling was way too high, which also had some chandeliers. “Sit down in the kitchen for a while. Your mother will prepare something for you. I’m sure you’re curious how your mother’s cooking tastes like,” my father ordered me as he pointed through the dining table, then sat across from me. I didn’t pay attention to anything that he was saying as I stared at my mother’s side profile. I can’t explain clearly but there’s something about her aura that’s bothering me. “I never imagined that this day would actually come…” My mother said as she placed a plate full of muffins. “In case you don’t remember, you’ve been an avid fan of muffins ever since you were a kid,” she further added as she picked up a muffin from the plate, slightly bending her body as she gently pushed the muffin onto my mouth. I had no choice but to chew it and when I gulped, she sat right beside her husband. I shouldn’t have taken my sweet time before I suspected both of them. Shion and Julius Sylverine… From the moment they abandoned me, I shouldn’t have once considered that they might’ve regretted their decisions… Because they never did. “Y-you’re going to pay for this… I’ll haunt the two of you even in the afterlife!” I screamed my lungs out as I felt my chest tighten, causing my body to wobble until I could barely remain seated on the chair. A loud thud echoed through the dining hall as my body fell to the ground together with the chair, which I attempted to hold onto for support. There was definitely something mixed in the muffin, which I wasn’t sure of. It’s either they knew my allergies or Shion just literally put poison in it. Either way, they are both f****d up. Before I completely lost consciousness, I saw Julius getting closer to me as his bare hands crawled inside my clothes while trying to remove everything that covered my body. His fingers traced the center of my breasts, down to my waist and belly button, and in the midst of that, I sensed my mother’s hands going through my pockets. “See? I told you that she has been earning a lot. She even got several cards with her,” Shion mumbled with her delightedness evident in her voice. “I didn’t know that she was this gullible.” Tears rolled down my eyes as I felt the veins in my forehead popping out of anger. I shut my eyes the moment I lost the strength to move and speak. I’ll never forgive the two of you.
