Silent Temple

Lyra nodded approvingly. “We’ll return soon.” Torren waved casually as he walked backward toward the door. “Try not to destroy the temple while we’re gone.” “No promises,” Aria replied. Torren laughed and disappeared through the entrance. Lyra and Darius followed shortly after. A moment later the heavy stone doors closed with a deep echo that rolled through the chamber. And just like that… The temple was silent. Aria slowly turned. Only two people remained in the massive hall. Her and Kael. For a moment neither of them spoke. The quiet felt different now without the Alphas and their wolves nearby. The temple seemed larger somehow. Aria exhaled. “Well…” Kael leaned casually against one of the pillars. “Just us now.” She walked slowly toward the center platform again. Sunlight poured through the open ceiling, illuminating the circular stone floor where she had been training. Aria lifted one hand. Silver energy flickered gently between her fingers. She smiled slightly. “At least the magic still works during the day.” Kael stepped closer. “The moon’s power never truly disappears. It just becomes quieter.” Aria studied the glowing energy in her palm. Then she looked at him. “You’re pretty calm about all of this.” Kael shrugged. “I’ve had time to get used to strange things.” Aria laughed softly. “I guess meeting the MoonBorn counts.” He smiled. “Definitely.”
