Kael stepped closer to the platform.
“Forget the mate bond for a moment.”
He nodded toward her glowing hands.
“You’re improving fast.”
Aria glanced down.
The silver light around her fingers pulsed gently.
Lyra spoke again.
“The MoonBorn’s power grows strongest under emotional focus.”
Torren smirked.
“Oh great.”
Aria shot him a glare.
“Say one more word.”
Torren raised his hands.
“I’m quiet.”
Darius continued calmly.
“Your connection to Kael may actually help stabilize your power.”
Aria blinked.
“How?”
“Because bonds created by the moon amplify lunar magic.”
Kael rubbed the back of his neck.
“So basically… we’re magically compatible.”
Torren laughed loudly.
“That’s one way to say it.”
Aria rolled her eyes.
“This is unbelievable.”
But when she looked at Kael again…
That strange warmth returned once more.
And this time Kael clearly felt it too.
Neither of them said anything.
They didn’t have to.
Lyra watched them carefully.
“Interesting,” she murmured.
Torren leaned toward Darius.
“You wanna bet?”
Darius sighed.
“No.”
Kael turned back toward Aria.
“Ready to keep training?”
Aria raised her glowing hands again.
Silver light flowed smoothly between her fingers now.
She smiled slightly.
“Yeah.”
Her eyes flicked toward him again.
“Let’s see what else this moon magic can do.”
High above the temple, the full moon shone brighter than ever.
And deep within its ancient power…
Two souls had begun to feel the pull of a bond that neither of them fully understood yet.
But the moon did.
And it had only just begun.
