Alone With You

Morning light crept slowly over the mountain peaks, turning the sky shades of pale gold and silver. The temple of the MoonBorn stood quiet against the cliffs, its ancient stones glowing faintly as the last traces of moonlight faded. Inside the temple, the large chamber was unusually calm. The previous night had been filled with training, discussions, and more than a few jokes from Torren. But now the atmosphere had shifted. The three Alphas—Lyra, Torren, and Darius—stood near the entrance of the temple preparing to leave. Their wolves waited outside in the mountain clearing. Aria leaned against one of the tall pillars, arms crossed as she watched them. “You’re really all leaving?” she asked. Lyra nodded. “For a short time.” Torren adjusted the leather strap across his shoulder and grinned. “Don’t worry, MoonBorn. We’re not abandoning you.” Aria raised an eyebrow. “Could’ve fooled me.” Darius stepped forward calmly. “Our packs need to be warned. Vargan will be gathering his forces, and we must do the same.” Lyra added, “If we’re going to stop him, every loyal pack needs to be ready.” Aria sighed. “That makes sense.” Torren looked between her and Kael with a mischievous smirk. “Plus, someone needs to give you two some space.” Aria groaned. “Torren…” Kael shook his head slightly. “Ignore him.” Lyra turned serious again. “Kael will stay with you.”
