Love Makes Someone Do Anything They Could

1740 Words
Ethan could hear Miles and Niall's cries, as well as Odette and Mrs. Pearson yelling at each other. Meanwhile, Roman's voice was buried by the voices around him. "Liana, what is going on?" "I already told you. Can you check the text I send?" Ethan put his phone in front of him. What Liana said was true. She had explained why that fight could happen. It was around six o'clock. Odette met mom at a cafe, drinking with her friend. You know how Odette, she will do whatever she wants. Odette and mom had a fight there, and she ended up dragging mom home. Since this afternoon, they have been fighting non-stop. I then told Dad to ask him to go home. Ethan bit his lip, closing his eyes in surprise at the sound of Odette's shout. But Ethan, I'm confused about why he wasn't startled when I said that mom was fighting with Odette at home. Knowing what Ethan was about to ask, her last text explains his question before asking. Dad wasn't mad at Mom. What confused me was why he was trying to calm Odette down. Shouldn't Dad be angry that Mom lied? She's the one that lied to us, and we all have every right to be mad at her. What Odette did was the right thing. But dad instead gently patted mom's shoulder as if nothing had happened. "Even though he cheated on her." Ethan blinked, trying not to let a single tear fall from his eye. There was a sob from Liana. "I don't know what to do." That old man, shouldn't he be angry with Mrs. Pearson? At least Roman had to say that he didn't like it when she lied, or at least Roman wouldn't let her go anymore. Why did all the things that were supposed to happen don't happen? "Is he too nice or foolish, Liana?" While Liana could no longer hold back her tears, she cried too, while Ethan's lips pressed together in a slight grimace as the tears fell onto his cheeks. Ethan was reminded of how Miles and Niall were teasing each other at the dinner table. Or how they were running while pointing at some animals in the zoo. It turned out to hear the sound of the twins crying. Was painful, wasn't it? Then, Odette. She was like the female version of Roman, only more peevish and easier to talk to. Even though she looks cold, she cares about the people she loves. It turned out to hear Odette yell. It was very confusing. How could her friendly voice turn out like that? And lastly, Liana. Ethan had to admit that Liana was the best older sister. She was a hero to her younger siblings because, as the eldest sister, Liana always knew what she had to do. Her heart is also soft; it reminds Ethan of cotton. Turns out hearing her ask what he was supposed to do made Ethan feel like there was nothing they could do but watch and abide the pain. Then Roman. He pulled in and then slowly released a deep breath. It was challenging to greet him, and it was way harder to talk to him, even though they liked each other. He also makes Ethan look for Guen's cafe, makes Ethan look like a fool, makes him look like a p*****t because he often peeks out of his bedroom window. Just because his wife is the person he loves the most, he allows that person to trample on his feelings, and there are even other people who also suffer the consequences of her behavior. But that old man still gently stroked his shoulder. Ethan could imagine that old man also smiled at his wife, a simple smile that didn't hide anything other than his love, and immediately told her to rest. And he must have said the same thing to Odette, who obviously wouldn't accept it. "I'm curious if he finds out, Mrs. Pearson is having an affair. What's the reaction, Liana?" "What do you mean, Ethan?" Ethan laughed, but his voice trembled. A thin sob slipped between his laughs. "You know, if we told that old man about his wife cheated on him, he'd be mad, right?" "It's actually not impossible, Ethan," said Liana. "He was never harsh. I don't think he would ever be rude to mom. Even when he's joking, he never raises his voice to mom. When he hit her, it was more like delicate stroking. You have to see how he holds Mom's hand. His grip is so soft that I feel like he's holding a tissue instead of holding Mom's hand. So I guess if he found out about the affair, he might as well give mom a second chance." "But Liana, can't pain change a person?" Liana took a deep breath, the sobs temporarily stopped, but a few seconds later, they came back. "But love can also blind one's common sense." Love huh? His eyes were staring straight at the floor, but his head was blank. He even ignored the cold surrounding his body, which was still wrapped in the towel, and his skin was starting to feel uncomfortable from being dry. A love that can blind one's mind. Ethan was interested in the idea of that love. According to Ethan, love like that shouldn't happen. Because if the person you love is the right person, that person will not be blind. Instead, he could see a world full of color, a world that was so happy because there was someone he loved beside him. It wasn't a dark world, where there was only pain, emptiness, a feeling of loss, or doubt, because he couldn't see anything. Love without pain is almost impossible. After all, we are human. But what Ethan meant was how to love, in its own unique way and not harming no one, would make the bond between one person and another even more robust. Love like that is love that should happen, right? "Ethan, is it okay if you stay with me, at least until they're done? You don't have to come here, just over the phone." Maybe it's more right if it's love when someone cares so much about another person, so he wants to see that person smile. He does everything he can for the person he loves. Not sacrifice anything, but doing all the best he could. Ethan felt that love should not require sacrificing himself for someone else. Love is supposed to make a person feel good. "Liana, where are you now?" "In my room." Ethan got up and stepped on his feet. Even though it was heavy, he could still do it. He took a white shirt and brown pants. Ethan stood in front of the mirror, making sure none of them looked out of place before he finally grabbed his phone and walked out of the house. Because he can do it. "Could you come out and open the door for me if it's locked?" *** "Are you crazy? Look at her! I can't even believe he went to Paris." "Odette!" Odette laughed. "I'm not even sure she goes abroad. She might have been here all this time." Ane rolled his eyes, he had raised his hand to hit Odette, but Roman, who was between them, blocked Ane's hand. He also slowly pushed Odette to step back. "Are you blind? I brought my boarding pass. How can you accuse your own mother, Odette? I didn't teach you to do that." Odette stepped forward, but Roman stopped her steps. "Yes indeed, you also never taught me anything. Dad is always there for me, and for Liana, even Miles and Niall." "Odette stops it," said Roman, standing in front of Odette, blocking Ane. Roman's hands held Odette's shoulders. "Listen to me. I'm going to talk to her. You had better calm yourself first, okay? I'll handle it." But Odette brushed Roman's arm with ease. "You've spoken to her many times, and you see, she never changes!" While Miles and Niall, who happened to be playing on the stairs, were stuck there, they were still confused about what their family did. But one thing is for sure, they want their father, mother, and sister to stop doing it. Hearing the sound of the door opening, Liana came out of her room and rushed down the stairs when her eyes accidentally crossed with the twins. Niall was the first to greet Liana at the bottom of the stairs with his arms outstretched, while Miles grabbed Roman's pants, tugging at them, hoping his father would turn down and hug him. "Miles, just go to your room, okay? Take Niall with you." But Roman's orders were, of course, too much for Miles. How could he walk up to his room with Niall when they were screaming? Meanwhile, Liana immediately hugged Niall. Liana could feel Niall's body trembling. Liana couldn't even tell if Niall was crying or saying something. "Can you guys be quiet?" Roman turned his head and saw Liana hugging Niall while Miles cried under his feet. Roman, who could not bear it, immediately carried his son. "Odette, please stop this." Odette was shaky because she had just realized Miles and Niall's condition. Her sister's condition was not so fine. It was seen that she had been crying in her room once. "Dad, he lied to you, aren't you mad?" Now Odette's eyes began to fill with tears. "I can't stand to see her hurt you like that. You're my father. No one can hurt you." Roman smiled and shook his head. "No, I'm fine, Odette. Thanks for that." Roman's eyes immediately fell to the door of their house, which was opened from the outside. All of them except Liana didn't expect someone to come at a time like this. Ethan appeared from behind that door. He stepped hesitantly toward all of them, except Mrs. Pearson, who was clearly not welcoming him. She even clenched his fists. "Sorry, I entered without permission." "Ah Ethan, forgive us, you know, family problems as expected. By the way, you must miss Liana, huh? My daughter just so happens to be here." Ethan, who had been hesitant, immediately felt sick of the fake smile. Especially when she stepped closer to Ethan. "Never mind, Mrs. Pearson, everyone is sick of your fake smile and all your words." Ethan could do it.
