Ron hadn’t been 100% truthful with Adam. He had told him he was going to get a few hours rest then go to Birmingham, but the only rest he was going to get was perhaps two hours in the back of the car that had been waiting downstairs to drive him to Birmingham.
The instructions from COBR to go there had been only come just before his visit to the hospital. He was going to stay in London, with the eight squad members who were with him, to help reinforce the police action there.
But the searches of buildings in London had not shown up any fire extinguishers. And, the rally end point for London was planned at The Palace of Westminster. Nobody was going to get close to there tomorrow, so that demonstration was dead in the water.
