Wolf.

It was already sunrise and Valeria was gone to work already. She's the CEO at BlueMoon since she was the Luna and of course my love. She was the one taking care of everything since I'm home most of the time. She really is working very hard to keep everything moving. And I'm proud of her for that. It really shows she's the only person I can trust. I take a shower and prepare for training. It was extremely hot today. And so some shorts and a vest would be ideal. I was still feeling very down but it was bearable for me to go training. I head down stairs to be commendatory acknowledged by one of the Omega servants. "Your breakfast is ready Alpha," she says. " No I'm fine, Jase, thank you." I reply and went by. I pass by the kitchen to get an apple before completely disappearing from the pack house. I arrived finding the training grounds still empty. As I wait for everyone I take laps around the field. I needed to pump my blood since I was not feeling very well this morning. It somewhat really helped. I was now feeling a lot better after a few rounds. "I see that you've started without us," he notes. Beta Xander. Another trouble in paradise. He always really hated me from a very young age. He's sworn to make my life living hell. Especially since I got mated to Valeria. He always had loved Valeria much as I did. That's what always realy got between us. Valeria was not originally from the pack, but got adopted by Mr Barrett and his wife since they couldn't have any children. Before then, me and Xander we were close friends. They always thought we were inseparable. Then Valeria got along. Xander fell in love the moment he ever set his eyes upon her. Yet he was too scared to approach her. Then on Valeria's 14th birthday, I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Xander finally gathered the courage to go and pour out his feelings for her. I mean he had the crush on the girl for years. She found Valeria when she was alone and confessed his feelings. She rejected him and not only that but the girl told him she always wanted me. Even asked Xander to give a word out for her. Now I was the villain of the story because allegedly I stole his love. I'm always the trouble, girls want me and not him. All the stupid accusations he could come up with to cope with his rejection. Since that day our friendship was destroyed over just a girl. We became more distant and Valeria and I got closer. I think from then I started to actually notice her. When me and Xander completely became enemies, me and Valeria we were already dating. Xander has started being a bully towards me, and call me names since the future Beta got his wolf before so called future Alpha. I didn't care since he couldn't do anything about it and would still defeat him in combat. Then he started recruiting my brother to his side. He convinced him to hate me and I guessed it worked. I guess it broke him that not only just Valeria but the moon Goddess chose me over him. Now him and Nathan are best friends, they just both leave to make my life very miserable. " I just needed to pump my blood. But now that everyone is here we can begin, " I respond to him. "Of course Alpha. Everyone places!! " he yelled. They all do according to his intricuion ** " Why are you so stiff Beta Xander!? Where is your footwork!? Stop looking like two left footed penguin!!" I shouted. Abruptly he stops everything dropping the sticks he held in his hands and looks at me with flames in his eyes. " Why are you always the one talking? I bet you wouldn't be even able to do it yourself," Nathan replies offended on his behalf. " Why would I teach you something I don't know!? I don't even know why you're speaking. You're not a better penguin than him." I was annoyed because everyone had stopped working and watching us now. " You teach us about controlling our werewolves even, but you don't have a wolf, " Nathan points out. " Just because I don't have a wolf. It doesn't mean I know nothing about werewolves." Werewolves are not supposed to be this stupid. It's unnatural. " Just like training, it doesn't mean you know how to do it. It's more just watching YouTube videos you know," he says " If you know what you're talking about why don't you prove to us? " Xander adds to Nathan's statement. " I don't need to prove anything Beta Xander. Now stop disrupting everyone, we don't have all day," I tell him. " Not until you prove to us you can do this," he responds. "Unless you're a coward," Nathan says l "I'm not doing it and that's finally!" My voice airs out ireful of their monkey business. "Just admit it you're--" "I SAID NO!" I exclam with no room for arguing. Still the stupid Xander attacks me, just in time for me to block his hand. His other fist for my face, I catch him sweeping him to the ground . When hopped back I had already sticks in my hands from one of the warriors. Nathan throw him his. Fighting intensively as everyone stood watching us. Still proves his skills were no match to mine . His wobbly footwork makes him slower than he is. When he saw he was defeat he shifts to his wolf, brisk I was out of harm managing to hit the back knee of his wolf and he falls on the floor his weight snapping his left knee. He curls on the ground as he growled in severe pain. Just a little snap. He will be fine by tomorrow. " That would be end of training for today," I say dismissing everyone. I genuinely needed a break. I leave the training grounds to take a stroll around the woods. The coolness of the air and stream of water running down below seem to ease my mind. I don't know for how long I've walked in the woods but long enough to bring back my sanity. I was feeling extremely exhausted again, like I just had been ran over by a bus. Maybe all the intense training is catching up to me. My feet felt tied to the ground as I try to carry myself along. On a near tree I sat on the ground leaning against it. I watched the light between the trees dimmed until it went dark. Watching the palatine Moon rise cheered by the countless stars. Wondering where my fate lies. If the Moon Goddess had forsaken me. Tonight was the last night of the fool moon, which meant I had to forget about shifting this month. The moon was glorious, as I hear a howl between the woods. Probably another shifter. I had to sit the same fate again next month hoping my calling would come. Or should I just give up and accept that this is my fate. I kept watching the moon, not interested of going back to the pack house. When my eyes opened again I was still lying in the same spot as yesterday. The glow of the leaves shows the sun was already rising. I can't believe I slept here all night. I felt partial wetness from the lightly wet gras as I got up. It made the breeze a little more cold. I find my way back to the pack house. The omegas were busy up and down preparing breakfast for the warriors. "Good morning Alpha," Auntie Bettie greeted as I make my way to the long staircase in the middle of the huge house. From the kitchen, the smell of food was amazing. It reminds me I hadn't eaten in a while. "Good morning Auntie Bettie," I greet back. "Breakfast is almost ready and the warriors will be coming shortly," she announces. "I won't be joining breakfast today, you can bring my potion of the food to my room. And please tell Beta Xander and Gamma Vernon they can continue training without me today. I'm not feeling well." " Of course Alpha, " she slightly bows before turning away. " Thank you, I don't what I'd be without you." " I'm just doing my job, " she says disappearing into the other side of the house. I make my way upstairs, my feets heavy with each step. Finally I make to my room to notice Valeria was still inside. "Morning beautiful," I gave her a little kiss before sitting on the bed. " Morning Gerald. Shouldn't you be getting ready for training? And you missed the afternoon training? " She asked stuffing her little purse. "I'm not feeling very well. I decided to take a day off. I think I've been straining myself lately, " I reply falling back on the soft mattress. " Where are you going? " I ask as she seems well versed in her little bag. " Work. Unlike you, I can't just take a day off whenever I feel like it," she responds. " Yes you can. You're the Luna. And BlueMoon? You're the CEO. It's only for a day. It's not like you're disappearing for the whole year , " I say to her. I admire what she's doing for the pack, but everyone deserves a break once in a while. " I'm sorry Gerald, " she responds picking up her back and headed to the door. " Well what about lunch then? Restaurant of your choice," I suggest yet she barely shew any interest. Rising to a sitting position I wait for her answer. " You just said you're not feeling well, " she reminds me. " Okay what about dinner? I'm sure I'll be fully rested by then, " I say. She responds," No I can't. Also, don't expect me tonight. I'll be working very late," she disappears from sight. " I love you? " I say remind myself of what she used to say whenever she leaves. I sigh throwing myself back on the bed. Where did I go so wrong? Now she can barely even talk to me. No I'm just overthinking things. She's probably very busy. I have to understand the she's under pressure. I've been putting to much pressure on her lately. I just hope she still understands how much I love her. I've never stopped loving her and never will. She's my mate, my everything. Truly your mate is your other half and she's my left half, the one carries my heart. I can't see a day without her. I can't think leaving my life without her by my side. "Come in," I ordered hearing a knock on the door. Auntie Bettie comes in holding a tray of food. "Here's your breakfast Alpha," she sets it on the dresser besides my bed. " Thank you Auntie Bettie," I sigh not even feeling like eating anymore. " I know times are hard, Alpha, but you have to be strong. Everything will be fine. Your pack needs you more than ever. They may not see it, but they do, " she speaks sitting on the bed next to me. " Why would they need a wolfless Alpha? I'm a disappointment to everyone, even my own father, " I remind myself of the terrible encounters I had with everyone. They saw no reason I should be respected. " You're not a disappointment to me. With or without a Wolf, you're the best this pack has ever got... Even better than your father, " she says. " My father? " I snort. " He's best of his time. A man that destroyed everything that stood in his path. I can't compare to him " I tell her. " With the help of his wolf Ranger and you did all that without a Wolf. You still found a way through. And that's what it means to be an Alpha. To find a way where it seems there is not." " They still still see me as weak. Better yet, don't even trust me because I fight like their enemies. " " Don't listen to them, they are stupid to think that. Do anything to keep your family safe, as much as they would to keep their own safe. It's not cheating to find a way through a problem. We've known to fight fire with water, but what do you do when there's no water? Don't let people make you think you're wrong for protecting your family. Just know it will be all okay when the time is right." " But if the time is never right? " I ask. " The time will never be right Alpha unless you want it to be. You're the who has to make it right. You're the one who decides the time is right... Look I must go now, the ladies are waiting for me down stairs. Enjoy your breakfast Alpha, " she says getting up. " You can just call me Gerald you know, " I remind her with a chuckle. " I'll see around Alpha, " she says and I chuckle as she closes the door behind her. she's an amazing woman indeed. The women who raised me in the place of my mother. We lost my mother when she was giving birth to Nathan. One of the reasons my father never really liked Nathan. He blamed him for his wife's death. Auntie Bettie was my mom's closest friend and she took over for my mother and raised us. Unlike my father, she loved us both equally. At least that little pep talk gave me a bit of appetite. Lately been feeling like there's a knot in my stomach. It's weird, I rarely get sick. I visited the pack doctor once or few times but she found nothing wrong with me. Well I think it's because I never really listen to her advices. I barely even finished the food before putting it away. I rest on my bed, only luring my self to a deep sleep. When I woke I knew it was already noon with the extreme heat. I rolled out of bed to my feet barely even able to stand. I thought I just need to flex my muscles. I forced myself to the door even though it feels I might throw up and fall on my face any moment. Until I reached outside and the cool breeze made me feel a little better. I go to the woods, the waters will be fairly cool by this time. The smell of wetness in the forest was very refreshing. The fresh air from the woods, the whistling sounds it just lifted my spirit. I felt freedom and peace. I walk deep into the woods and hear voices in the trees. I walk closer to find out it's my father and Nathan. They were training. I've never seen them train together before. Sure my father trained me but I'm the one who always trained Nathan. "What are doing here Gerald? Haven't you embarrassed me enough already?" he asked disapproving my arrival. " I didn't know you trained with Nathan, " I pointed out. "Not everything is about you Gerald. This pack needs someone who can look after it. Someone who can lead it," he says. " Are we talking about an heir? Because if we're... I've been talking to Valeria about that and she says she's not ready to have a baby yet. And I can't force her, " I respond. " It's not that she's not ready to have a baby. She's just not ready to have your baby. Who would want a baby of a human? " My father sneered. " I'm not a human father," I say to him which he scoffs it off. "Are you not? What kind of werewolves doesn't have a wolf in their thirties? C'mon you're reaching thirty now. When are you planning to have a wolf? As your retirement welfare?" A scowl of bitterness pours out his mouth. " You can barely even defeat a werewolf like that," he claims. " Since when? Last time I checked, I've defeated lots of them, " I say which I'm interrupted by my brother. "You're nothing without your technology," he says. " And you're nothing without your wolf, " I tell him. " I'll show you nothing? " He says prevailing from molding me and tearing me into a thousand pieces. "Calm down Nathan. I'm not going to fight you--" " Why? Are you scared!? " My father growled. " Of course he is. His little gadgets are not here to save him. We can't even trust him. He might sell us off to the hunters, " Nathan responds. " No I'm not--" "Prove it then. Prove that you can fight a werewolves, " my father commands. " No--" before I could even refuse Nathan was already attacking me. I had to push past my tired self and fight him off. He wasn't in any way going to stop . We battle hand to hand as my father watched intently. Nathan is strong and fast with good skill. His only problem is that he fights with rage. With every punch him more angrier to come full force at me. His fist barely missing my face I could feel the effects from the air. With his blind rage he trips on a tree root, giving me an opening. Firing at him, kicking flying to a tree. He barrels over the ground in pain. "Stop this now Nathan!" I command but like under some spell he doesn't stop but rather shift to his wolf. I rolled out of the way, he crushed to the tree behind. I pick up a branch to protect myself with. He jumps to bite my neck, but finding the branch instead. It was strong enough to give me a chance to kick him off of me, breaking the branch in half he crashes hard in the tree again keeping him grounded for some time. "Not bad," I hear my father's voice followed by s***h on the ribs. I turn to look at stunned and he had a smirk on his face holding the half split branches in his hands. "Aren't you going to fight back Alpha?" He asks when he sees I'm not attacking back. Still I wasn't going to fight my father. " I'm not going- to fight you father-" I search for breath as the pain in my ribs stung badly. " Bad choice! " He sneers. I feel each of his blows connecting with my flesh. Each one of them more painful than the last. Sending me down on the ground. He throws the branches away, now using his bare hands to finish me off. The taste of blood of my own blood filled my mouth. I wanted to command him to stop but I knew he wasn't going to. Every inch of my muscles burning. "You're a disappointment to this pack!! I should have gotten rid of you when I had the chance!!" " It's- an insult, to even call you my son!!" I could hear it's Ranger yelling, with every blow breaking every possible part of my body. My father is a strong man. Even at his age, his strength is impeccable. I endured below him waiting for until he was certified. When he done I was barely feeling anything in my body. I feel my brother growling over my face. "Patience Nathan, patience." My father's voice echoed from a far distance. I feel like the world I spinning around and everything is fading into darkness. Like I was moving into a black hole. Until it swallows all of me and there's only darkness. ** "Hey... Hey... Hey- wake up... Wake up!!" I hear someone's screams echoing everywhere around my head. I immediately jolt to my senses, making sense of my surroundings. I was still in the woods and the blood stains on the ground remained proof of what happened earlier. Though I look around I see no sight of the one who was waking me. Maybe I was just dreaming or hallucinating. "No you were not," I hear the voice again. I retort noticing a huge bear like creature in my head. "Who- Who are you!?" I try to study him as he looks with indifference. He vividly stood in my mind like a true image. "Are you as stupid as you look!? I'm your wolf airhead!" he replies.
